You might think that a 10 game season would not allow a lot of information for an in-depth analysis of a basketball team. However, it is safe to say that the 6th grade Raiders and Lady Raiders of Coffee County Middle School provide a strong indication of bright days ahead for area basketball fans. The Raiders and Lady Raiders closed out the season on Friday night at Morrison with a pair of wins over their Warren County rivals. In girl’s action, the Lady Raiders got their 9th win on the season as they dismantled Morrison 46 to 8. The Lady Raiders held Morrison to 2 points in the 2nd half as their defense shut out the hosts in the 4th quarter. Bella Vinson scored 25 points on the night for Coffee Middle as Kylie Phillips and Kaitlin Zuzich each added 6 points.

The boys, who lost the earlier matchup to Morrison, got some sweet revenge as they held Morrison to 5 field goals on the night in route to a 26 to 17 win. Kyle Farless paced the red and black with 9 points while Jaxon Vaughn and Trenton Horne each added 6. With the win, the Red Raiders finished the season with a record of 7 and 3 as they won six of their last seven games.
