The Coffee County Lady Raider volleyball team took on district leading Lawrence County on Tuesday in Lawrenceburg. After dropping the first 2 sets 25-16 and 25-23, the Lady Raiders routed the Lady Cats 25 to 8 in set #3. But Lawrence County gained their composure and closed out the match by capturing the 4th set 25 to 21.
The Lady Raiders continued their aggressive service game attempting to get Lawrence County out of system. Coffee County had 9 aces on the match as Tyana Fenton and Kaylee Skipper led the Lady Raiders with 3 aces apiece. Alliyah Williams led Coffee County in kills with 11 as Baylee Nester added 10. Aerial Williams led the team in blocks with 3 while Fenton scooped up 20 digs. Bailey Morgan led the team in assists with 15 while Rachel Henley added 13.
The loss drops Coffee County to 11 and 8 on the season and 4 and 2 in district play. The Lady Raiders host Eagleville on Wednesday at the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym in front of the student body. That match gets underway at 1:30 PM.
