Out-shooting Harris Middle 12 to 9 and controlling time of possession in Saturday’s CTC Soccer Tournament final was not enough to earn Coffee County Middle School the conference title as they fell by a 1 to 0 score. Lady Raiders were able to get off 6 shots in each half, but could not find the back of the net. Harris scored the only goal of the match in the 49th minute on a shot set up after a free kick. The long drive in the top right corner of the net was the only shot all afternoon that Raider keeper Meagan Jones could not deflect. Jones turned away 8 shots on the match, including 4 during a frantic 5 minute stretch in the middle of the second half. The Lady Raiders earned their 11th win in Saturday morning’s semifinal as they blasted Warren County 7 to 2 to advance to the finals. With the loss, the Lady Raiders finished the season with a record of 11 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw and the regular season Central Tennessee Conference title.
