James Ruble Boatman Jr., of Tullahoma, passed this life on Sunday, October 5th, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 73.
Mr. Boatman was born in Monticello, Kentucky to the late James Ruble and Ina Doss Boatman Sr.
During his life he work as an Inspector with Goodrich Landing Gear and was a member of Grundy Street Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Retired Steelworker AFL-CIO. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at Arnold Golf Course in Tullahoma. When he wasn’t at the golf course, you could find him playing pool at the Senior Citizens Center.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Boatman is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Boatman; one grandson, Alan Bisby; and one sister, Patricia Boatman.
He is survived by one daughter, Diane Bisby of Tullahoma; two sons, Jimmy Boatman of Estill Springs, and Lee Edwin Boatman and his wife Lisa of Tullahoma; five grandchildren, Eric Bisby, Michael Boatman and his wife Kayla, Emma Boatman, Logan and Sam Boatman, and Steven Smith; and one great-granddaughter, Paisley Boatman.
Visitation for Mr. Boatman will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 9th, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Flatt officiating.
Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma.
