The Coffee County Middle School 6th grade basketball teams got a doubleheader sweep over Harris on Monday night at the CCMS Gym. The Lady Raiders defeated the visitors from Shelbyville 30 to 19 while the Red Raiders shot down the Eagles 40 to 20.
The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 13 to 4 lead after 1 quarter and held Harris to single digits until the 4th quarter. Maggie Crouch led Coffee County in scoring as she had 8 points on the night. Katie Cotton netted 7 points and Alivia Reel finished with 6 points.
The Red Raiders used a huge 2nd quarter to build a 10 point halftime lead and put the game away in the 4th quarter as they outscored Harris 13 to 4 in the final 6 minutes. Dayne Crosslin led the Raiders in scoring with 15 points while Jacob Holder and Isaiah Campbell each added 8 points.
The 6th grade cagers are back in action at home on Tuesday when they play host to West Tullahoma. The girls’ game will tip off at 6 with the boys to follow.
