Marcus T. Odum age 24 of Deaderick St Jackson TN was arrested on Friday afternoon by Manchester Police Officer Dustan Foster after what started off to be a simple traffic stop. Foster says he observed a vehicle with no brake lights and was crossing the center line several times. He said he activated his blue lights and stopped vehicle on Oak Drive near Highland Circle. Manchester Police Investigator Jonathan Anthony arrested Baron Luderick Clabaugh age 29 of Anthony Lane Shelbyville on Thursday with Manufacturing/delivering/selling/possession of a controlled substance. The arrest warrant indicates that Clabaugh was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation. The Manchester Police Department canine was on the scene and alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. Manchester Police Sergeant Devin DeFord responded to McDonald’s on the Hillsboro Highway early Friday morning in reference to a possible impaired driver in the drive-thru. DeFord made contact with the driver and says the man allegedly had a very strong odor of intoxicant, slurred speech and was very aggressive towards the officer. The Franklin County Commission has unanimously approved to allow Winchester’s Phoenix Boats to purchase 42 acres of “pad ready” land in the county’s Industrial Park. The commission agreed to sell the land for $147,000. The boat manufacturer already has a plant in Winchester. Phoenix Boats’ new building will be about 150,000 square feet in size. Tennessee and 10 other states are suing the Obama administration over a new directive about transgender students in public schools. The lawsuit announced Wednesday also includes Oklahoma, Alabama, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Texas, Maine, Louisiana, Utah, Arizona and Georgia. Beginning June 1, Tennessee State Parks will advise visitors to use certified heat-treated wood. The new policy aims to prevent or slow the introduction of exotic insects or diseases into parks that could otherwise threaten the health of trees and forests.
