On Friday night Sept. 23, 2016 the Coffee County Communications Center notified officers that a call had come in with the caller identifying himself as the clown who has been threatening children. According to the arrest warrant, the subject became very lewd with the dispatcher talking sexually with her and stating he was going to harm children. He also allegedly stated that he was going to kidnap children and her, cut their ears off and other lewd acts. Warren County man facing TennCare Fraud Charges

A man who fled to Michigan to evade capture has been arrested and charged with TennCare fraud for selling prescription drugs paid for by the state’s healthcare insurance program. The Office of Inspector General (OIG) has announced the arrest of Matthew Haycox, 46, formerly of McMinnville, after a joint investigation with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. An indictment in Warren County accuses him of TennCare fraud and three counts of delivery of a Schedule II controlled substance. Small Increase for Social Security Recipients

Millions of Social Security recipients and federal retirees will get a 0.3 percent increase in monthly benefits next year, the fifth year in a row that older Americans will have to settle for historically low raises. The adjustment adds up to a monthly increase of less than $4 a month for an average recipient. The cost-of-living adjustment, announced by the government Tuesday, will affect more than 70 million people – about 1 in 5 Americans. Teenager Charged with Aggravated Child Abuse or Neglect and more

Brandi Michelle Gurdak, 19, of Expressway Dr in Manchester has been arrested on child abuse charges. Gurdak was arrested late last week and charged with aggravated child abuse or neglect, possession of schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest was made after a complaint was lodged about the alleged abuse. She was arrested by Manchester Police Investigator Butch Stewart after the officer served a search warrant at her residence. Unity Medical Center holds Disaster Drill

Unity Medical Center in Manchester held a mock disaster drill on Tuesday. More than 20 volunteers and hospital employees took place in the drill at the hospital. The event was done to focus on plans for an actual crisis, which could send several patients to Unity. During the drill, mock patients were transferred by ambulances to the Unity Medical Center Emergency Department on Interstate Drive. On Monday police responded to a hit and run accident on Highway 55. The driver of the hit vehicle gave officers a description of the fleeing vehicle. A witness stated to police that the driver was throwing some type items out of his car as he drove. The witness to the accident followed the vehicle to Highway 127 where the subject stopped and allegedly tried to remove parts from his vehicle.
