Habitual Traffic Offender Arrested in Manchester
On Sunday, Manchester Police Officer Jamie Newman was dispatched to McArthur St to check a suspicious car in a driveway. A check of the registration on the car revealed it did not belong to the vehicle. When a check of the area for the driver was completed, the vehicle was gone. A second call from a business located at McArthur St and Oak Drive was about the same vehicle. Officers observed the vehicle pull away from the business and stopped it on Oak Drive. Nashville Woman Dies after falling from Grundy County Trail
On Monday afternoon at approximately 1pm Grundy County dispatchers received a call from hikers of a female down on the Fiery Gizzard Trail below the Day Loop. South Cumberland Park Rangers, Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum and Tracy City Chief Charlie Wilder responded to the scene. Upon arrival, authorities found the body of a deceased white 64-year old female from Nashville, TN. Man Facing Several Charges after Disturbance Call
On Thursday November 3, Manchester Officer Daryn Gadeken responded Thoma St in Manchester for a disturbance call. The arrest warrant indicates that Nicholas Ian Price age 26 Thoma St Manchester became violent with his mother and girlfriend. The man is accused of pushing his mother to the ground. Drug Charges Filed Against Manchester Man
On Sunday Manchester officers were called to Roadway Inn for a disturbance call. When officers arrived they made contact with 29 year-old Matthew Phillip Jefferson. In the arrest warrant officers state that the man appeared to be impaired, but gave consent to a room search. Officers state in the warrant that the man gave them 3 glass pipes with residue on them. Manchester Officer Trey Adcock transported Jefferson to the Coffee County Jail. Division of Forestry says No to Burn Permits
According to the Division of Forestry no one in the state of Tennessee will be issued burn permits. Authorities said that there has been an increase in suspected arson cases and with the area being very dry they would like people to express caution. In Grundy and Marion Counties, the South Cumberland State Park is advising that a ban on campfires is in effect until the area receives heavy, sustained rains for a few days.
