Manchester Fire responds to blaze on Ramsey St.
Crews with the Manchester Fire and Rescue Department responded to a structure fire at 509 Ramsey St. on Wednesday. Firefighters battled the blaze and temperatures with a heat index in the 100s. Firefighters found smoke coming out of the garage area and the front of the home when they arrived. At that time, firefighters attacked the fire in the kitchen area of the home, where most of the fire was contained. No injuries were reported – not even heat-related illness. Bonnaroo 2022 officially begins Thursday, June 16, 2022. After not hosting the festival since 2019 (COVID / Flooding), locals seem to be out of practice regarding traffic patterns and the many newcomers who have moved to Manchester have not experienced the festival. Traffic is generally heaviest on Wednesday and early Thursday before the festival begins. Deadline to register to vote for August election fast approaching
Those wishing to vote in the upcoming August election will need to get registered soon. The deadline to register is Tuesday, July 5. Early voting will be July 15th through the 30th, with election day on Thursday, August 4. Bonnaroo tickets remain on sale at discounted price for local residents
Gates for the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival are now open. Meanwhile, ticket will-call pickup will be located at Coffee County Central High School from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, this includes will-call for people who purchased discounted local tickets through Thunder Radio. This year’s attendance is expected to be about half of the normal capacity. Rawn to serve as new SRO at Westwood Middle
Manchester Police Department has announced that Alethia Rawn will be the newest School Resource Officer for Westwood Middle School. Rawn previously served as the SRO for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department at North Coffee Elementary. Rawn replaces Leah Carrick at Westwood, who chose to to move to a patrol position within the department.
