5/18/12 — Lucretia Renee Bryan Keele Cunningham
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucretia Renee Bryan Keele Cunningham, age 49, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Underwood and Bro. Horace Lee Jacobs officiating.
Burial will follow in Gnat Hill Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cunningham passed away Wednesday morning at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
Mrs. Cunningham was born in Manchester, TN, the daughter of Lee Bryan, Jr. of Madison, TN and Dot Jacobs Qualls of Manchester, TN.
She was a member of the Church of Christ at Noah. Lucretia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lucretia was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Bessie Bryan of Summitville; maternal grandparents, Hall and Ruby Jacobs; her father, Jerry Qualls; and an uncle and aunt, James and Linda Jacobs.
In addition to her parents, Lucretia is survived by her husband, David Cunningham of Manchester; two daughters, Susan Keele (Gary) Harlow and Mindy Keele (James) Sherrell, both of Manchester; four grandchildren, Jerry “J.C.” Harlow, Abagail Harlow, Chloe Harlow and Jayden Sherrell; one step-daughter, Dorothy Cunningham; two half-sisters, Jeannie Bryan and Belinda Chappell; one step-sister, Connie Vanhook; two uncles, Horace (Carolyn) Jacobs and Sammy (Lisa) Jacobs; numerous cousins, friends, and two special friends, Dot Dickerson and Rhonda Keele.
The family requests donations be made to Coffee County Sheriff’s Department and Manchester Police Department Christmas Kid’s Toy Fund.

Mya Shayanne Rhoten passed away May 11, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center.
She is the daughter of Tiffany Nichole Hammers and Andrew Rhoten.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Aili Helms, age 40, of Tullahoma will be conducted Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma.
Visitation with the family will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First United Methodist Church Missions Committee.
Mrs. Helms is survived by her husband, Kenneth Helms, mother, Judith Peterson, brothers, Lee (Cindy) Peterson and Joe (Pam) Peterson, and her beloved dogs, Bogey and Freddie.

5/18/12 — Howard Bryson Strope
Howard Bryson Strope, age 85 of Belvidere, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Southern TN Medical Center in Winchester.
He was born August 13, 1926 in Belvidere; the son of the late Albert and Lillie (Wilbanks) Strope.
Mr. Strope was a retired Master Sergeant in the US Air Force and later worked as the credit manager for Costco.
He was preceded in death by wife, Bernice Strope, daughters, Luwanna Gipson and Brenda Everroad, brothers, Edward Strope, Jessie Strope and Lemuel Strope and sisters, Mamie Cook, Gertrude Butler, Velma Butler, Myrtle Syler and Vera Jacks.
Surviving are wife, Linda Strope, sister, Nelle Noah of Belvidere, TN, step-son, Carl Banks of Fayetteville, TN, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 18, 2012 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Rev. Mike Robertson officiating.
Interment will be in Maxwell Cemetery, Belvidere, TN.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester.

Wilma Mae Layne, age 89, of White City, Tennessee, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at the home of her daughter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lewis Layne, Sr.; parents, Hugh Allen Haynes and Gladys King Haynes; grandson, Trenton & Tristan Layne, Kelsey Freeze, Tony Guyear.
Survivors include her son, Homer Lewis Layne, Jr., White City, TN; Daughters, Rita D. Tompson, Tracy City, TN; Faye Henley, Pelham, TN; Sherry Dean Harris, Manchester, TN; Joyce M. Jacobs, Manchester, TN; Freda Ann Layne, Coalmont, TN; 15 Grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Layne officiating.
Burial will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-9 PM.

5/18/12 —- David L. Merzbacher, Jr
He is survived by three loving children, David Merzbacher III, Mike Merzbacher (Martha), and Teresa Houstrup (Jody); four grandchildren, Katie O’Bryan (Randy), Chris Merzbacher, Mary Beth Goodrum (Brent), and Tricia Houstrup.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and is already greatly missed.
David’s home in his last year was West Meade Nursing Home in Nashville, TN.
The family would like to thank the staff at West Meade as well as ALIVE Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital for the wonderful care and attention they gave to their father.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 5:00-8:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 11:00am with Father Philip Breen officiating and burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors.

5/14/12 — Geneva Wilcox Duke
Mrs. Geneva Wilcox Duke, age 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday evening at Harton Regional Medical Center.
A native of Winchester, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Lou Bevel Wilcox. She worked for Armstrong Carpet and was of the Church of Christ Faith.
She is survived by three sons; Jeffrey Doyle Duke of Shelbyville, James Anthony Duke of Nashville, William (Sindy) Amiel Duke of Houston, TX., two daughters; Cynthia June Awalt of Acworth, GA., and Barbara Ann (Anthony Neil) Coles of Tullahoma, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Memorial services for Mrs. Duke will be private.

Memorial services for Mr. George G. Fisher, age 80 a resident of Manchester will be conducted Friday, May 18, 2012at11:00 AM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.
The family will receive friends Friday morning from10:00 AM until time of services.
Mr. Fisher passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 20, 1931 in Albany,NYt he son of the late George Gregory Fisher and Grace Padula Fisher.
He grew up in Albany and started his freshman year of college and was about to be drafted to the US Army and instead he voluntarily chose to join the US Navy, where he would spend the next four years serving his country during the Korean Conflict. Following his service time, George attended the University of Maine where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
He married Catherine Hanlon September 17,1960 and they moved to Manchester in 1964. He was employed as an engineer with Sverdrup Tech until his retirement in 1993.
George was known to be an avid golfer who accomplished three holes in one on golf courses throughout the years. In recent years, he enjoyed traveling with his wife to numerous destinations including two trips toIreland. He will be missed by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Catherine Fisher of Manchester; seven children, Cheryl Lowrance and husband, Craig of Centreville, VA; Jennifer Burks and husband, Mike of Murfreesboro; Peter Fisher of Murfreesboro; Gregory Fisher and wife, Jenny of King George, VA; Matthew Fisher of Murfreesboro; Maggie McJilton and husband, Stephen of Cypress, CA; and Edward Fisher of Mufreesboro; eleven grandchildren, Chase Lane and wife, Rachel; Allison Lowrance; Kyle Fisher; Zachary Smith; Jason Lowrance; Emily Lowrance; Ainsley Fisher; Cordero Fisher; Trent Fisher; and twins, Meagan and Morgan McJilton. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Walsh and husband, Martin of Wellsville,PA and several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Alene Partin Tomlinson, age 94, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 in Sky Line Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Partin and grandson, Lionel Partin.
Survivors include her son Richard (Peggy) Partin, Monteagle, Tennessee; daughter, Sue Truitt, Madison, Tennessee; sister, Mickey Bryant, Florida; two grandchildren, Dana and Gena; three great grandchildren, Kreh, Max and Leah; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in the Monteagle Cemetery, with Reverend Von Unruh officiating.
Memorial service will be held June 9, 2012, 2:00 PM at the City Road Chapel United Methodist Church.

5/17/12 — Juanita Evelyn Toliver Keele
Juanita Evelyn Toliver Keele, age 93 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on May 13, 2012 at the Manchester Health Care Center.
Mrs. Keele retired from the South Central Human Resource Agency after twenty years of dedicated service and was a member of the Forest Mill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Ellis Eldon Keele who passed away in 1980; parents, Leonard Toliver and Phonetta Mayton Toliver; brothers, L.G. Toliver and Gerald Toliver; and a granddaughter, Dala Frame Elliot.
She is survived by six children, Horace (Fredia) Keele, Marvin (Dorothy) Keele, Ralph (Linda) Keele, Donald (Beverly) Keele, Phillip (Deanie) Keele and Jeanette (Randy) Frazier; 17 grandchildren; 7 step-grand children; 29 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation with the Keele family will be on Wednesday evening, May16, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday afternoon , May 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brothers Danny Anderson and Chris Keele officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
