9/6/14 —— Lourine Starks
Funeral services for Mrs. Lourine Starks, age 83, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Little Hurricane Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Pitts and Pastor Duke Sutton officiating.
Burial will follow in Bevins Cemetery in Beechgrove, TN.
Visitation with the family will be 1:00 PM until time of services at the church.
Mrs. Starks passed from this life on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at her residence.
Lourine was born in Beech Grove, TN, the daughter of the late Hanley Osborne and Ola Robinson.
She was raised in church at a very young age, where she was a faithful member at the Little Hurricane Primitive Baptist Church, where she served as president of the Usher Board and also a Mother of the Church Auxiliary Board. She continued to serve the Lord faithfully until her health began to fail.
In addition to her parents, Lourine was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Marshall Starks, who passed away on May 1, 1982; two sisters, Rosie and Catherine Robinson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Benjamin M. Starks, Jr. and Robert L. Starks, both of Manchester, Brenda L. (Mark G.) Tatum of Mansfield, TX, Linda J. Terry and fiancée, Gentry Parker of Killeen, TX, and Theresa D. Starks of Nashville, TN; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter; two brothers, Buford Robinson of Nashville, TN and James Robinson of Tullahoma; one sister, Dorothy Mae Hill of Manchester; one sister-in-law, Isabelle Starks of Tullahoma; family friend, Tammy Stratton; and a very close personal friend of the family, Jada Clark, who was with Lourine from the very beginning to the very end; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
9/4/14 —– James Willard Bradford
Mr. James Willard Bradford age 70 of Tullahoma passed away Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Trevecca Skilled Nursing Home in Nashville after an extended illness.
A native of Franklin County he was a son of the late Louie Bradford and Katie Mines Bradford. Mr. Bradford was a farmer.
Mr. Bradford is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Wilson and husband Jay and Sarah Sons and her husband Anthony all of Tullahoma. Stepchildren, Ray Carter and his wife Angela of Manchester, Sheila Marion and her husband Jeremy of Franklin County, Jackie Elliot of Cowan and Christy Brunner of Tullahoma. Brothers; Billy Ray Bradford and wife Juanita of Estill Springs, Grady Bradford and his wife Pam of Summittville and Roy Bradford and his wife Glenda of Estill Springs. Sister, Mary Jane Millsaps of Lynchburg and sister-in- law Effie Bradford of Estill Springs. He is survived by his grandchildren, Riley Bynum, Katie Davis and Stormie Davis. 5 great-grandchildrern and 12 step-grandchildren and a special friend Mary Bradford.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Earl Bradford, sisters, Doris Brandon and Roberta Jolley and grandson, Raymond “Bubby” Carter.
Graveside services will be held Thursday September 4, 2014 at 3 PM at Hoovers Grove Cemetery in Moore County.
9/4/14 — Rebecca Ann Shavers
Mrs. Rebecca Ann Shavers, age 70 of Lynchburg passed away Monday, September 1, 2014.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 5 – 7 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home.
A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Ewin L. and Jimmie D. Parks Reese.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Reese.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Leonard Shavers of Lynchburg; two sons, Mark Shavers and his wife, Diane Shavers of Lynchburg and Tim Shavers of Lynchburg; one daughter, Melissa Mackenzie and her husband, Scott of Huntsville and four grandchildren, Justin Brewer, Christopher Brewer, Ian Mackenzie and Will Shavers.

CATHY S. FARRIS, age 58, of Estill Springs, departed this life on Tuesday, September 02, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness.
Ms. Farris was born in Winchester, Tenn. on December 26, 1955, to the late Willie B. and Ruby Farris.
She was a member of the Riva Lake Baptist Church in Winchester. One of her favorite hobbies before her illness was crocheting.
She is survived by her Brother, Dale (Sina) Farris of Estill Springs, Tenn., Sister, Nancy (Garold) Lewis of McDonald, Tenn., special nephew “Dale, Sarah and Will Farris”, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 3, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 4, at Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Larry Sanders, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Harris Chapel Cemetery.
9/2/14 —– Barbara Ann Armstrong
Mrs. Barbara Ann Armstrong, age 72 of Manchester passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her residence.
No services are scheduled.
A native of Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Edward and Mary Bowles Christian.
She attended Friendship Baptist Church. She had worked for many years as a customer service representative at K-Mart in Tullahoma. She enjoyed camping, gardening, crocheting and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, John C. Clews and Eugene Armstrong; two sons, Jimmy C. Clews and Richard A. Clews; one brother, Wayne E. Christian and one sister, Sandy Holley.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Herbs and her husband, Everett of Manchester; one daughter-in-law, Lorna Clews of Normandy; one sister, Beverly J. Spears and her husband, Jim of Greeneville, TN and two grandchildren, Suzanne R. Herbs and J J Herbs.

Mr. Paul R. Sawyers, age 56, of Tullahoma passed away Tuesday at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
He was born in Lincoln Co., TN to the late James and Rose Nell Robinson Sawyers.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Sawyers.
Funeral services for Mr. Sawyers will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 till 2:00 PM Saturday at Tullahoma Funeral Home.
He is survived by a brother – Kenneth (Marie) Allen and a sister, Angel (Philip) Creasey.

Graveside services for Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Brewer Carrick, age 100 of Manchester will be conducted at 2 PM , Wednesday, September 3 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Bro.Foy Rigney officiating.
The family will gather at Manchester Funeral Home at 12 pm, Wednesday for a short visitation and will proceed to Rose Hill for graveside services.
Mrs. Carrick passed this life, Sunday, August 31 at the Manchester Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Carrick was born on August 29, 1914 in Manchester, Tennessee the daughter of the late J.W. Brewer and Tennie Mae Freeze Brewer.
She was a homemaker and a seamstress at PCA in Manchester. Mrs. Carrick was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and canning.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert Carrick.

9/5/14 —– Vergil Lendon “Hap” Saine
Vergil “Hap” Lendon Saine, age 94, of Manchester, died August 31, 2014 at United Regional Hospital, Manchester, TN.
A native of Manchester, he was the son of the late Alfred Forbes and Bertha Morehead Saine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred, and older siblings – five sisters, Lucile Cheatham, Lillie Aldridge, Lena Saine, Lila May Pope, and Mozelle Pate, and two brothers, Clarence Price Saine and Harry Alfred Saine. All were graduates of Coffee County Central High School.
Vergil, best known as “Happy” or “Hap”, is survived by his two sons, Stephen F. Saine (wife, Diana) of South Carolina and Jerome G. Saine (wife, Kathryn) of Manchester; three granddaughters, Cynthia Saine Gaines, Marjorie Saine Marcus and Erin Saine Terry; one grandson, Travis Gene Saine; three great granddaughters, Lauren Reece Terry, Jenna Grace Saine and Addison Brooke Marcus; and two great grandsons, Carter Neal Terry and Chandler Gene Saine. Hap’s extended family was always most important to him.
He was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
After graduating from Coffee County Central High School in 1938 as valedictorian, he continued his education at Lincoln Memorial University and the University of Wisconsin, earning a PhD in Chemistry. His career included 30 years managing operations that developed and produced munitions and propellant products for the military during World War II and the Cold War with Russia. He also taught Chemistry for 5 years at the University of Wisconsin and as Head of the Chemistry Department at Lincoln Memorial University. After living in five different states while in industry, Vergil and Winnie retired to his home town of Manchester in 1980. They became members of his boyhood First United Methodist Church. He also served as Executive Director of the Coffee County Industrial Development Board from 1981 – 1985. He served as a member of the State Rehabilitation Training Board and was its Chairman for several years. He was a member of Manchester Rotary Club, serving as President for 1984/85. He appreciated the Manchester Times publishing, under the heading of People Memories, his 140 articles on memories of teachers, classmates, neighborhood families and special citizens of Coffee County.
The funeral will be held Friday, September 5th at the Central Funeral Home.

Mr. Jason Daniel Sain, age 40 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed from this life on August 30, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Cecil Sain, and grandparents George W. and Marjorie Grant Hopkins.
He is survived by his loving wife Heidi Sain of Manchester, Tennessee, parents, Dan and Laurie Hopkins Sain, of Manchester, Tennessee, two daughters, Lyla Rose Sain, Brityn Elaine Sain, one son Davis Daniel Sain, one step-son Pearson Knox Crownover, two sisters, Melanie Taylor and husband David of Bentonville, Arkansas, Allison Chumley and husband Rece of Manchester, Tennessee, two brothers, Franklin Glenn Sain and wife Wendy of Beechgrove, Tennessee, Joseph Michael Sain of Orlando, Florida, grandmother, Leola Crosslin Sain of Cannon County, Tennessee, mother-in-law, Isolde Pearson of Manchester, Tennessee, and nieces and nephews, Sarah Sain, Alex Taylor, Jaden Chumley, Chay Chumley, Paige Taylor, Amanda Sain, Elliana Chumley.
Jason was a believer and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his work. He was an accomplished bass fisherman. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
