Funeral services for Mrs. Lourine Starks, age 83, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Little Hurricane Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Pitts and Pastor Duke Sutton officiating.
Burial will follow in Bevins Cemetery in Beechgrove, TN.
Visitation with the family will be 1:00 PM until time of services at the church.
Mrs. Starks passed from this life on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at her residence.
Lourine was born in Beech Grove, TN, the daughter of the late Hanley Osborne and Ola Robinson.
She was raised in church at a very young age, where she was a faithful member at the Little Hurricane Primitive Baptist Church, where she served as president of the Usher Board and also a Mother of the Church Auxiliary Board. She continued to serve the Lord faithfully until her health began to fail.
In addition to her parents, Lourine was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Marshall Starks, who passed away on May 1, 1982; two sisters, Rosie and Catherine Robinson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Benjamin M. Starks, Jr. and Robert L. Starks, both of Manchester, Brenda L. (Mark G.) Tatum of Mansfield, TX, Linda J. Terry and fiancée, Gentry Parker of Killeen, TX, and Theresa D. Starks of Nashville, TN; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter; two brothers, Buford Robinson of Nashville, TN and James Robinson of Tullahoma; one sister, Dorothy Mae Hill of Manchester; one sister-in-law, Isabelle Starks of Tullahoma; family friend, Tammy Stratton; and a very close personal friend of the family, Jada Clark, who was with Lourine from the very beginning to the very end; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
