2/5/16 — Opal Loraine Rigney
Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Loraine Rigney, age 95, of Manchester, TN
will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Coffee County
Funeral Chapel with Bro. Kip Green and Bro. Paul Cagle officiating.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the
family will be from 11:00 AM until time of service on Friday at the
funeral home. Mrs. Rigney passed away Tuesday afternoon at St. Thomas
Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN, surrounded by her loving family.
Opal was born in Manchester, TN, the daughter of the late David and Elsie
Bush Gilley. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. View Church of
Christ. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, always had flowers, was a
Christian lady, and loved her granddaughters and great granddaughters.
In addition to her parents, Opal was also preceded in death by her loving
husband of 50 years, Alton Rigney; three brothers, Clarence, Wayne, and
Austin Gilley; and one sister, Florance Gowen. She is survived by one
son, Foy Rigney and his wife, Charlene of Manchester; two granddaughters,
Ericka (Kelly) Readhimer and Emily (Matt) Cagle; and two great
granddaughters, Tatum Readhimer and Megan Cagle.

2/5/16 — Charles Edward Haynes
Charles Edward Haynes formerly of Tullahoma, passed this life on
Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 at Alive Hospice in Madison, TN at the age
of 87. Mr. Haynes was born in Franklin County to the late Ernest and
Edith Pless Haynes. During his life he worked as a Lineman for the
Tullahoma Utilities Board, and was also a retired employee of Batesville
Casket Co. He was also a longtime member of The church of Christ at Cedar
Lane. In addition to his parents, Mr. Haynes is preceded in death by his
wife, Bessie Weddington Haynes, and three brothers, Ernest Jr., Aubrey,
and Robert Haynes. He is survived by one son, Dean Haynes and his wife
Kim of Goodlettsville; one sister, Katie Ruth Hensley of Lakeland, FL;
and three grandchildren, Parker Haynes and his wife Ashley of Nashville,
Zack Haynes and his wife Tiffany of Henderson, and Cara Haynes of
Goodlettsville. Visitation for Mr. Haynes will be held on Friday,
February 5th, 2016 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00pm with funeral
services to immediately follow at 2:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial will follow at Hoover’s Grove Cemetery in Moore County.
Kilgore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
2/6/16 — Jerald Sutton Damron, Jr.
Jerald Sutton Damron Jr, age 54, formerly of Tullahoma, passed away,
Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Stone Crest Medical Center in Smyrna. Funeral
Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 6 at 10 AM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial
Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Friday, February 5 from 5 – 8
PM.
A native of Tullahoma, he was the son of the late Jerald S and Nancy Riley
Damron. He was a graduate of Sam Houston High School in Arlington, TX. and
was a member of Wesley Heights Methodist Church. Jerald had worked at both
Kroger and Food Lion Grocery Stores as well as Worth Sporting Goods and
Deutsch Industrial Products. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, WWF
Action Figures and Matchbox and Hot Wheels Cars. He was a member of the
Southern Wheels in Motion Car Club.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Damron and his wife, Celina of
Tullahoma; one sister, Michelle Joann Damron of Nashville; two nephews,
Robert Damron Jr and Nicholas Damron and two nieces, Mariana and Sarah
Damron.

2/6/16 — Stella E. Brown Winton
Stella E. Brown Winton, age 68 of Decherd, Tennessee passed away, Monday,
February 1, 2016 at her residence. Funeral Services are scheduled for
Saturday, February 6 at 12 Noon at the New Hope Church of God in Christ,
300 Cowan Street E, Cowan, TN with Pastor Willie E. Bonner officiating.
Burial
will follow at Acklen Memorial Gardens in Decherd, TN. Visitation with the
family will be Saturday from 11 AM until the service time.
A native of Decherd, she was the daughter of the late John L and Lavernia
McFarland Brown. She was a member of the New Hope Church of God in Christ
where she served as an Evangelist. Mrs. Winton loved going to church and
spending time with her family. She was a “kid” at heart and loved
playing
with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an
infectious love and never meet a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Harold W. Winton; three brothers, John Jr, Paul and Walter Brown and one
sister, Clarice Burks.
Mrs. Winton is survived by three sons, Wayne L. Winton of Detroit, Jeffrey
A. Winton and his wife, Kristi of Woodhaven, MI, and Troy E. Winton of
Decherd; three daughters, Janice Kennerly of Winchester, Sheila D. Hollis
of Tullahoma and Andrea D. Winton of Arizona; ten brothers, Frank Brown and
his wife, Brenda of Decherd, Samuel Brown of Decherd, Warren Brown of
Winchester, C L Brown and his wife, Diane of Manchester, Eugene Brown of
Michigan, Willie Brown and his wife, Ola Mae of Winchester, Bobby Brown of
Decherd, James Brown and his wife, Sheila of Shelbyville, David Brown of
Detroit and Benny Brown and his wife, Louise of Detroit; three sisters,
Verna Mae Bonner and her husband, Willie Lee of Cowan, Rose Mary Beasley
and her husband, Larry of Decherd and Effie Barnett and her husband, Jimmy
of Cowan; sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fresenius Medical Care of
Winchester for their loving care.

Monday, February 1, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving
family.
Nelda was born in Tullahoma, TN, the daughter of the late Cleveland A.
Long, Sr. and Willie Mae Branch Long. She was a homemaker and a member
of Emmanual Church of Christ. Nelda loved music, reading, flower
gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nelda was also preceded in death by her
grandparents, Huey and Emma Branch; and one brother, Cleveland Long, Jr.
She is survived by one son, Eddie (Regina) Hill of Tullahoma; one
daughter, Jennifer (Keith) Jones of Manchester; one sister, Brenda
(Jerry) Thomas of Manchester; three grandchildren, Storm Reed, Dillon
Hill and Jena Hill; and one niece, Lisa Meyer.

Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Wayne Yates, age 82, of Manchester, will
be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Manchester Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery. Visitation with the
family will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday evening at the
funeral home. Mr. Yates passed away at his residence on Tuesday,
February 2, surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born in Coffee County, TN, the son of the late John Ewell and
Pernice Anette Dick Yates. He was a retired production operator for
Batesville Casket Company and also served his country in the United
States Army. Wayne was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church and loved
University of Tennessee football. He farmed for many years, loved
working in the yard, and loved new cars.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was also preceded in death by two great
grandsons, Jathan and Jaylon Hershman. He is survived by his loving wife
of 60 years, Betty Winn Yates of Manchester; three daughters, Yvette
Yates Lowe and husband Nicky, of Hillsboro, Antoinette Yates and Kristi
Yates, both of Manchester; two sisters, Peggy (Mitchell) Grosch of the
Asbury community and Daphyne Adams of Manchester; four grandchildren,
Lindsey Grider-Jarvis, Kelly Grider, Jeremy Hershman, and Joshua Yates;
and three great grandchildren, Jayden, Jaelib, and Jace Yates

on January 31 at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Harpole; parents, John
L. Duncan and Ruby Mae Hudson Duncan; sister, Shirley Erwin; brothers,
Sherman Duncan, Lynn Duncan and Hubert Duncan. Naomi is survived by her
son, Timothy E. Harpole and his wife Ruth of Maquoketa, IA; sisters,
Barbara A. Neeley (Bill), Sandra D. Myers (Keery) and Thelma J. Rogers
(Mark) all of Manchester, TN; brothers, Kenneth W. Duncan (Jenny) of
Niles, MI, Charles L. Duncan (Kathy) of Manchester, TN, Loyd Duncan
(Sheila) of Tullahoma, TN and Boyd Duncan (Theresa) of Manchester, TN;

She was born on February 4, 1950, to the late Claude and Goldie Cagle Johnson in Manchester, Tenn. She was employed for many years as a CNA. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved crafts and gardening. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Ramos of Manchester, sons; Steve (Christina)Moon, Bill (Nikki Simmons) Moon all of Tullahoma, Tenn. 5-grandchildren; Monica and Manuel Ramos, Steven E., Justin and Brent Moon. 1-great-grandchild, Ellie Ramos. EVALARDO “JOE” ORTIZ, age 62, of Manchester, Tenn., departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Ortiz was born on August 16, 1953 in Dallas, Texas. He was employed as a carpenter and could build almost anything. He enjoyed woodworking and drawing. He was a caring and devoted companion to Ms. Brenda Clark for approximately 38 years.
He is survived by her loving children; Wanda Ramos of Manchester, Steven (Christina) Moon and Bill (Nikki Simmons) Moon all of Tullahoma. 5-grandchildren; Monica and Manuel Ramos, Steven E., Justin Moon and Brent Moon and 1-great-grandchild, Ellie Ramos.
