8/24/16 — Christine E. Taylor Brannon

flower 15Mrs. Christine E. Taylor Brannon 104, went home to be with the Lord July 30, 2016 in Elyria, Ohio.

She was born December 25, 1911 in Franklin County, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents Berry and Alice Baxter; husbands, Plummer Taylor and Mackellar Brannon; daughters, Elise Bryant , Louise Brooks and Betty J. Smith; son, Glynn Taylor; grandsons Glenn, Charles and Leroy Bryant.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Grandsons, James L. Dwight and Ronald A. Brown of Elyria, Ohio and Terry L. Brown of Lorain, Ohio and Gerald E. Bryant of Pennsylvania;

Granddaughters, Geraldine Nolan of Columbus, OH; Edith Washington of Lorain, OH and Novella “Denise” Brown of Elyria and a host of great and great- great grandchildren.

Graveside Services at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery in Tullahoma, TN.

8/22/16 — Mildred D. Womack

womackMildred D Womack, 87, a resident of Tullahoma, TN passed away on Friday,
August 19, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare – Harton. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Monday, August 22, at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. Visitation with
the family will be Sunday, August 21 from 5 – 8 PM.

A native of Hoodoo, TN, she was the daughter of the late Zora and Emmaline
Duke. She was a member of Grundy Street Church of Christ. She loved
spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing, cooking, watching golf
and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John
C Waggoner and H Bernard Womack; daughter, Barbara Waggoner Burch; stepson,
Bruce Womack; five brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by stepson, Brian Womack of Tullahoma; son-in-law, Kirk
Burch of Tullahoma; daughter-in-law, Mary Womack of Cookeville; seven
grandchildren, Jolie Jesse and her husband, Erik of Tullahoma, Channing
Bailey of Tullahoma, John Long and his wife, Cathy of Shelbyville, Josh
Womack and his wife, Shan of Cookeville, Zachary Womack and his wife,
Andrea of Cookeville, Tory Womack and his fiancé, Jessica of Cookeville and
Joseph Womack of Murfreesboro, sixteen great grandchildren and one on the
way and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

harrisCarlos Joseph Harris Jr, 21 of Tullahoma passed August 15, 2016. He is the son of Carlos Joseph Harris, Sr and Hope Bush. He was a 2014 Tullahoma graduate and played on the basketball team.

He leaves to cherish his memories, son, Kieary Harris and step son, Za’von Holmes.

8/21/16 — William R H Hazen

hazenWilliam R H Hazen, age 80 of Pelham, passed away on Tuesday, August 16 at
Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for
Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in
Manchester with Rev. Dana M Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at
Warren Cemetery in Pelham. Visitation with the family will be Saturday,
August 20, 2016 from 5 – 8 PM at First United Methodist Church in
Manchester.

Mr. Hazen, a native of Wheeling, WV was the son of the late Harold Russell
and Irene Martin Hazen. He was a twenty year veteran serving in the U S
Marine Corps for ten years and then the U S Air Force for ten years. He
also worked for sixteen years at various civil service jobs. He retired
from AEDC as the real estate officer who maintained all aspects of the
property. During this time, he enjoyed speaking to groups about the
wildlife at the base. Mr. Hazen enjoyed woodworking, cooking, reading,
traveling and entertaining his friends. He loved to sing and play guitar.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Manchester and enjoyed
attending church activities. While living in New Mexico he enjoyed
missionary work serving as a pastor on the Apache Reservation. He was
instrumental in starting the Good Samaritan in Tullahoma and served as the
first president. He also was trained as an EMT in Nashville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John
Hazen and one sister, Sara Hazen.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hazen of Pelham; one son, William David
Hazen and his wife, Sandra of Fayetteville; two daughters, Brooke Hazen of
Manchester and Stephanie Porter and her husband, Nate of Lexington, KY; two
sisters, Gerri Hazen of Port St. Lucy, FL and Elvira McMullen and her
husband, Gary of CA; four grandchildren, Will and Hannah Hazen and Morgan
and Kindra Banks; brother-in-law, Gary Mayes of Pelham and sister-in-law,
Peggy Goodman and her husband, Jimmy of Pelham.

8/19/16 — Elinor Jane Shaffer

flower 21Elinor Jane Shaffer was born May 10, 1937, in Columbia, Tennessee to the
late Alpheus Obrien and Charlsie Louise Kennedy. Jane passed away at the
age of 79 on August 11, 2016. Jane and her husband Walter Lewis Shaffer
resided in Knoxville, Tennessee. Jane is a graceful and beautiful woman,
with a heart full of love, and loved by all, a planner, devoted wife and
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother “Mimi”, smiling, with grace and
style, Jane will be missed by all. Jane is survived by her children, 2
sons; William (Dawn Davis) Rust of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Bradley
(Joyce) Rust of Gallatin, Tennessee, 3 daughters; Cynthia (Roger) Brown
of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Jill (Paul) Bruno of Franklin, Tennessee, and
Joy Shaffer of Lebanon, Tennessee, 14 grandchildren; Megan, Rachael,
Derek, Laura, Ian, Dylan, Franz, Alma, Eric, Valerie, Ali, Olivia,
Ben,and Max, 4 great-grandchildren; Jocelin, Charley Rose, Murphy Claire,
and Brayden special friend; Hugh Cannon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Frances Vaughn, age 78 of Manchester will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, August 18 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Jamey Hurst and Rev. David Petty officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Wimberley, Keith Wimberley, Jack Watts, Trent Haddock, A.J. Fox, Ryan Clanton, Dillon Tosh and A.J. Tosh.  Visitation with the Vaughn family will be Wednesday, August 17 from 5pm until 8pm at Manchester Funeral Home.  Mrs. Vaughn passed this life Tuesay, August 16, 2016 at the Manchester Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family.

 

Mrs. Vaughn was born in Pelham, Tennessee the daughter of the late Roy and Dama Magdeline Meeks Wimberley.  She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Manchester Church of God.  Mrs. Vaughn loved to babysit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as cooking, reading, knitting, sewing, cross stiching, word search puzzles and growing her roses.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughn was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles Edwin Vaughn; one brother, Roy Wimberley and a son in law, Jack Hurst.  She is survived by;

 

One son- Ronald Vaughn and his wife Tina of Manchester

Two daughters- Joyce Huddleston and her husband Dan of Cookeville

                            Charlene Tosh and her husband Jonathan of Manchester

Beloved brother- Paul Wimberley of Tullahoma

8/20/16 — Frances Pauline McDonald

mcdonaldFrances Pauline McDonald, 90, a former resident of Tullahoma, TN passed
away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at her residence in Chuckey, Tennessee.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 20 at 12 PM at the
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Hurricane
Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 10 AM until the
service time.

A native of Bonnie Blue, VA, she was the daughter of the late Richard and
Myrtle Berryhill Nicholson. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling and
sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Raymond McDonald; one daughter, Phyllis Anne McDonald; one brother and
three sisters.

She is survived by her son Raymond Richard McDonald and his wife, Amy of
PA; three daughters, Rebecca Keller of Chuckey, TN, Kathy Diane Felton of
Ohio and Pamela Maxine Diez of Chucky, TN; one sister, Juanita Moorehead;
fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great
grandchildren.

8/18/16 — Mary Scott Fugate

fugateMary Scott Fugate, 81 of Tullahoma, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016
at her residence. Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, August
18, 2016 at 11 AM at Maplewood Cemetery with Mark Gilley officiating.
Visitation
with the family will be Wednesday, August 17 from 5 PM – 8 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fugate, a native of Viola, TN, was the daughter of the late Raymond
and Lorene McBride Scott. She was a member of First Assembly of God. Mrs.
Fugate was very musical and enjoyed listening to and singing Gospel
music. She
learned to play the guitar at a very early age and enjoyed playing for many
years. She enjoyed going to church and was very family oriented. She loved
being a wife and mother and enjoyed making their home a loving environment.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James
Richard Scott and one sister, Ruth Manning.

She is survived by her husband, William Fugate of Tullahoma; two sons,
William Brent Fugate and his wife, Mari and Teddy Fugate, both of
Tullahoma; two daughters, Beverly Legereit of Metropolis, IL and Linda
Prater of Tullahoma; two brothers, Leslie Paul Scott of Tullahoma and Andy
Manning and his wife, Tina of Tampa, FL; sister, Joann Horton of Hillsboro;
many cousins and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in
her honor to the American Heart Association, 1818 Patterson St, Nashville,
TN 37203.

8/17/16 — Jeffrey Ashley

ashleyMr. Jeffery William Ashley, 54, of Tullahoma, TN passed away on Aug. 13, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Center in Tullahoma.
Mr. Ashley was born to the late William and Lorine Hastings Ashley on May 8, 1962 in Winchester, TN.
A construction worker by trade, he loved to fish, work on lawnmowers and walk his dogs. He always had a smile on his face.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Ashley of Tullahoma along with two sons, James Barkve and his wife Miranda of McMinnville, TN and Christopher Hill of Tullahoma. Surviving daughters are Nicole Gannon and husband Joseph of Tullahoma, TN; Billy Jo Taylor, a resident of Kentucky; and Angie Bryan of Dayton, OH. Also surviving are brothers Larry Ashley and his wife Wanda of Tullahoma, TN; and Terry Ashley of Tullahoma, TN. Surviving sisters are Maxine Harris and her husband George of Normandy, TN; and Shirley Ann Ashley a resident of Virginia. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.
Preceding Mr. Ashley in death was one brother, Billy Joe Ashley.
Visitation with family members will be held at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, Aug. 16, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Bro Tony Smith will officiate a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 from the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma, TN.

loweryFuneral services for Mr. J.C. Lowery will be conducted on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Charles Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Lowery passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Lowery was a member of New Union Church of Christ. He worked for Southern Woods Tie Company for 29 year and Eden Industries for 14 years. J.C. enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a love for guns.

Preceded in death by his parents Clarence Price Lowery and Rosie Poff Lowery; brothers and sisters, Dot Walker, Lester Sanders, Goldy Cheney, Beulah Wooten, Harv Lowery, Steve Lowery, Eulis Lowery, Paul Lowery; loving daughter-in-law, Sharon Myers Lowery. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Ola Lowery; sons, Donald Lowery, Tim (Teya) Lowery; grandchildren, Kay Lowery Duncan (TJ), Justin Lowery, Kayla Lowery Foutch (Dale); great-grandchildren, Jessica Duncan (Alex Grimes), Candace Duncan; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
