11/30/16—Jeanne Ruth Pelham Roller

Mrs. Jeanne Ruth Pelham Roller age 51 of McMinnville, TN, died Sunday,
November 27, 2016, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN.
She was born February 15, 1965, in Warren County, TN, was a nurse with Unity
Medical Center in Manchester, TN, a member of Charles Creek The Baptist
Church, and a member of the Pelham Family Gospel Group. Mrs. Roller was
preceded in death by her parents H. T. (Zeke) and Gwendoline Jones Pelham
and a sister Gayla Ann Pelham Whitlock.

Survivors include her husband Steve Roller, daughter Jordan Ariel (Austin)
Elwell, sons Jarrett Ezekiel Adcock and Justin Elijah (Tristan) Adcock,
step-daughter Stephanie Roller, step-son Gunter Roller, grandchildren Demi
and Haddie Adcock, brothers Timothy (Marlene) Pelham, Michael (Ann) Pelham,
Phillip (Pat) Pelham, and John (Rhonda) Pelham, and brother-in-law Eugene
(Anita) Whitlock. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also
survive.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in the
McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Darrell Cantrell and Elder Frank
Randolph will officiate. Interment will follow at Caney Branch Cemetery. The
family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again
Wednesday from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral
Home.

12/1/16—Alvine Bush

Graveside services for Mrs. Alvine Bush, age 85, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Manchester City Cemetery. Mrs. Bush passed away at her residence in Manchester, TN on November 26, 2016.

Alvine was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Robert Andy and Julia Elizabeth Jarrell Mahaffa. She was a factory worker at Eden Industries, a member of New Union Baptist Church, and she loved flowers and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Alvine was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl Bush. She is survived by one son, Gary Haley; one daughter, Charlotte Harrison; one sister, Odel Dye; and niece, Delores Jill Dye, and several other nieces and nephews; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

11/29/16—Floyd William Green

Obituary for Floyd William Green
Mr. Floyd William Green, age 59, passed away on Nov. 26, 2016 at his residence in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Mr. Green was born on Dec. 30, 1956 to the late Marlin and Josephine Tresch Green in Peoria, Illinois.
Floyd loved his dog Sassy along with riding motorcycles, fishing and listening to music.
He is survived by his wife Brenda along with daughters Wendy Whitaker and her husband Todd of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and Emily Green also of Shelbyville, Tennessee. Also surviving are grandchildren Jesse May, Chase May, Judson May and Xavier May all of Shelbyville.
Surviving sisters include Joetta Frye of Pekin, Illinois and Nancy Matheny and her husband Jack also of Pekin, Illinois.
One daughter, Melissa Jo Green preceded him in death.
Visitation with family members will begin at 12 p.m., Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. from the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will be in the Beech Grove Cemetery.

11/30/16 — Virginia Frances Farless

flower 21Virginia Frances Farless, age 61 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday,
November 23, 2016 at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Funeral Services
are scheduled for Wednesday, November 30 at 12 PM at Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ragsdale Cemetery. Visitation with
the family will be Tuesday, November 29 from 5 – 8 PM.

A native of Caryville, FL, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and
Gladys Love Strickland. Mrs. Farless was a very giving person with a big
heart. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son,
Christopher Lee Cheney; four brothers, John Henry, Jake, Alton and Junior
Strickland and two sisters, Ruby Hurd and Mary Simpson.

She is survived by one son, Sammy Cheney and his wife, Rosie of Manchester;
two daughters, Rebecca Freeze of Hyattsville, Maryland and Nina Prince and
her husband, John of Hillsboro; two brothers, Robert and Clarence
Strickland of FL; one sister, Betty Cooper of FL; six grandchildren,
Christopher Lee Prince, Summer Renee Cheney, Desarae Corcilius, Paige
Cheney, Isaiah Prince and Yazmin Jackson and special friends, John Partain
of Estill Springs, Pam Evans of Tullahoma, Shirley Chick of Winchester,
Dwight Weddington of Winchester and Georgia Barrett of Winchester.

11/26/16 — Gene Elmer Nickles, Sr.

nicklesFuneral services for Mr. Gene Elmer Nickles, Sr., age 51 of Manchester will be conducted at 2pm, Saturday, November 26 at the Manchester Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fredonia Cemetery. Visitation with the Nickles family will be Friday evening from 5pm until 9pm at Manchester Funeral Home. Mr. Nickles passed this life Monday at Unity Medical Center in Manchester.

Mr. Nickles was born in Fairfax, Virginia the son of Ronald E. Nickles and Shelby J. Hughes Nickles. Gene was an employee of K & S Steel in Manchester and was a 25 year firefighter with the Hickerson Station Volunteer Fire Department where he served with the rank of Captain. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Nickles was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Elmer Nickles and by a nephew, Matthew William Nickles. He is survived by:

SAMUEL DEWEY HENRY
(June 10, 1934 – November 20, 2016)

Samuel Dewey Henry was born June 10, 1934, and the son of the late Samuel
and Izola (Frye) Henry of Selmer, Tennessee. Samuel was also preceded in
death by three brothers; Lloyd, Edward, and Ray Henry, a son; Samuel
Henry, a step-daughter; Sandra Russ, and a step-son; James Glasgow. He is
survived by his wife Velma R. (Moore) Henry of Manchester, Tennessee,
three children; Alesia Pennington, of Manchester, Tennessee, Leighann
Gentry Bryan, of Florida, Maybrice Henry, of Indiana, a sister, Nora
Sharpe (Bill), of Jackson, Tennessee, and Jack and Barbara Moore
(Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law) Samuel enjoyed the outdoors, fishing,
reading, and working puzzles. He worked and retired as an electrical
operator at AEDC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to
Alzeimer’s Foundation.

BERNICE L. FINNEY
(May 19, 1935 – November 20, 2016)

Bernice L. Finney was born May 19, 1935, a native of Lynchburg,
Tennessee, to the late Elijah and Maggie T. (Miller) Ward. She is
survived by her husband Gordon M. Finney of Estill Springs, Tennessee.
Bernice was a member of the Prairie Plains Church of Christ. She is also
survived by four children; Ernest Finney (Donna Gail) of Hillsboro,
Tennessee, Linda Newman (Mike) of Estill Springs, Tennessee, Donna
Northcutt (Mark) of Winchester, Tennessee, and Michael Finney of
Nashville, Tennessee, 5 Grandchildren; Suzanne Mitchell, of Estill
Springs, Tennessee, Amy Morgan, of Hillsboro, Tennessee, Kristy Jones, of
Hillsboro, Tennessee, Sabrina Franklin, of Winchester, Tennessee, Brandy
Anderson, of Deberry, Florida, 10 Great-Grandchildren; Emily Townsend,
Morgan Mitchell, Bailey Morgan, Meagan Jones, Mason Mitchell, Abby
Morgan, Maddy Jones, Hunter Anderson, Carter Franklin, and Case Franklin,
2 Great-Great Grandchildren; Eli Morgan and Emory Townsend.

11/22/16 — Kenneth D. Bennett

bennettKenneth D. Bennett, age 71 of Tullahoma, passed away on Saturday, November
19, 2016. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at
2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at
Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 12 PM
until the service time.

A native of Bedford County, he was the son of the late Gordon M. and Wanda
Juanita Honea Bennett. He was a U S Air Force Veteran and retired from
Wisco Envelope Company where he was a printing supervisor. He loved to
watch sports on TV, especially football and baseball. He was an avid
Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts fan. He also enjoyed learning about
history and science. In addition he enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne
and Milton Bennett and one sister, Shirley Ballard.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife of 51 years, Edith Bell Bennett of
Tullahoma; two sons, Darren Bennett and Ryan Bennett, both of Tullahoma;
daughter, Michele Coil of Tullahoma; one brother Don Neal Bennett of
Tullahoma and one grandson, Robert Coil.

11/20/16 — James Earl Morton

flower 16Funeral services for Mr. James Earl Morton, age 81, of Manchester, TN,
will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Coffee
County Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kerry Walker officiating. Burial will
follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation
with the Morton family will be from 1:00 PM until time of service on
Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Morton passed away on Thursday afternoon
at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.

Earl was born in Lenoir City, TN, the son of the late Robert and Carrie
Walker Morton. He served his country in the United States Air Force,
where he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. Earl loved golfing, working
crossword puzzles, being outdoors and working in the yard. He was a
great father and grandfather, and enjoyed being with his family and
spending time with his grandchildren.

Earl is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Jane Morton;
four children, April Melody (Steve) Brown, James Byron (Dixie) Morton,
Roger Kane (Amy) Morton, and Joyce Anne (Justin) Crites; one sister, Faye
Shultz of Lenoir City, TN; grandchildren, Steven, Renea, Brandie,
Heather, DJ, Bryon, Caleb, Adam, Ethan, Emileigh, Melissa, Raymond,
Nathan, Abigail, and Anabelle; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Geraldine Winn Stewart
A life long resident of Manchester, TN was born on April 8,1935. She
passed into eternal rest on November 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving
family. She retired from Coffee County Hospital after many dutiful years.
She was preceded in death by parents, Elmer Jack and Christine Hickerson
Winn, and late husband Ray Stewart, Sr. She enjoyed spending time with
her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom affectionately called her
“Twoma”.
