Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lee Jenkins, age 91 of Hillsboro will be conducted at 3:00pm, Monday, May 18, from the Hillsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Danny Anderson officiating, assisted by Rev. John Wright. Visitation with Robert’s family will be from 4pm until 8pm, Sunday, May 17 at the Manchester Funeral Home, and from 12 Noon until service time Monday at the church. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery on the church grounds. Serving as pallbearers will be David Thomas, Mark Lowery, Vance Creek, Rouk Morgan, Christopher Clay and Sam Davidson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Cummins, Steve Duncan, Reavis Morgan, Boyd Gray and Pat Barton. Robert passed away Friday morning, May 15 at the Medical Center of Manchester.
Robert was born in Hillsboro the son of the late Grover Benjamin Jenkins and Althea Cash Jenkins. He served his country in the US Army during World War II in the Quartermaster Corp in Panama. Following his service he graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a teaching degree and taught in the Tullahoma City Schools, and was the Truant Officer for the Coffee County Schools until his retirement. Robert was known as a Historian in Hillsboro and could recall events and people from the 1930’s on. He was a member of the Hillsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Geneve M. Jenkins who passed in 2011, by two sisters, Mary Marcrom Cooper and Johnnie McCormick and by two brothers, Billy and Ben Jenkins. Robert is survived by:

Two grandchildren, Christopher Todd Clay and his wife Erin, and Amber Elizabeth Davidson and her husband Samuel. Several Nieces and Nephews and also Robert’s faithful companion, his dog Hobo.
