Ida Mary Kendrick, 94, a resident of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community in Saint Marys, Ohio, died Monday, October 13, 2014, at Otterbein Saint Marys.
She was born September 21, 1920, in Jamestown, New York, the daughter of Ray and Lucina (Harrington) Dennison.
She married the Reverend James B. Kendrick on November 1, 1945 and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2008.
She is survived by her two children: Rebecca (Wayne) Lybarger of New Bremen, Ohio; James (Connie) Kendrick, Jr. of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; by a son-in-law, Dr. John H. Judd of Albuquerque, New Mexico; by her grandchildren: Andrea Lybarger; David Lybarger; Patricia Judd; Dr. John Patrick (Jeong) Judd; Matthew (Erin) Turnstall. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: John Judd, Jr; Kaitlyn Judd; Emily Turnstall; Sarah Judd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Patricia Judd; her brothers: Murray Dennison; Gerald Dennison; Harley Dennison; by a grandson, John H. Judd, III.
Ida Mary was a 1938 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1943 graduate of Mt. Sinai School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse. She had worked in many different hospitals during her working years, as she and her husband, Reverend Jim Kendrick, moved around the country during his Naval career. She was an avid reader, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Saint Marys, Ohio.
Funeral rites will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday, October 17, 2014, at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, 786 McMinnville Highway, Manchester, Tennessee, Pastor Danny Freeman, officiant.
Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends and family in Ohio may call from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 16, 2014, in the Meditation Room on the campus of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, where memorial donations may be given to Grace United Methodist Church in Saint Marys.
Friends and family in Tennessee may call one hour prior to the funeral rites on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel
