County unemployment rates for July indicate the rate decreased in 20 counties, increased in 59, and stayed the same in 16 counties. Coffee County’s unemployment rate for July dropped slightly from 8.2 to 8.1. Franklin County went up somewhat from 9% to 9.1. Warren County’s rate is now 10.2 percent an increase from 9.9 percent in June. As for other neighboring counties, Grundy County went from 11.0 to 11.5 percent. Cannon County went from 8.5 to 8.3 percent. Bedford County rose to 10.4% from a June rate of 10.1. Moore County stayed the same at 8.8%. Lincoln County had the state’s lowest unemployment rate at 5.9 percent, while Scott County had the highest at 21.7 percent.
