On Saturday night Coffee County Deputy Lee Marcom responded to 4076 Woodbury Hwy in Manchester about a suspicious vehicle. When Marcom requested the subject to move his vehicle to the nearby Dollar General parking lot, the man allegedly sped away and Marcom pursued. According to Marcom’s report, the man identified as Randy Joe Williams age 37 Silver St Tullahoma ran at least one stop sign and was speeding through a subdivision and ended up in a residential backyard. The deputy says he approached the subject’s vehicle telling him to get out of the car. Williams allegedly accelerated his vehicle and hit Deputy Marcom’s car. Williams then according to the arrest warrant exited his car on the passenger side and ran into the woods where he fell down and Marcom took him into custody.
Williams was charged with vandalism, evading arrest, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault. His bond was set at $21,200 and he has a court date of March 14, 2016.
