Grundy County Sheriff’s office personnel spent a large part of Thursday sending thousands of marijuana plants “up in smoke.” The plants were part of a late Wednesday bust of a major pot growing operation off Taylor Road in Gruetli-Laager.  The plants were destroyed at the sheriff’s office parking lot as the smoke from the fire forced the closure of a nearby street.  Estimates of the street value of the marijuana plants appear to be several millions of dollars and may be among the largest pot bust in the state of Tennessee.
