Man Runs from Deputy
On Saturday night Coffee County Deputy Lee Marcom responded to 4076 Woodbury Hwy in Manchester about a suspicious vehicle. When Marcom requested the subject to move his vehicle to the nearby Dollar General parking lot, the man allegedly sped away and Marcom pursued. According to Marcom’s report, the man identified as Randy Joe Williams age 37 Silver St Tullahoma ran at least one stop sign and was speeding through a subdivision and ended up in a residential backyard. Fire Damages Summitville Home
On Wednesday morning at approximately 2:25am Deputy Kevin Smith was dispatched to 365 Stacy Rd in Summitville for a reported structure fire. According to Smith’s police report, upon his arrival he spoke with the victim Tanya Rymer who told him the fire started in the home due to grease on her stove that was apparently left on. The report went onto to say that Rymer stated that she is unsure of the damage done but was assuming the value is around $20,000. Four People Arrested on Burglary and more
Four people have been booked into the Franklin County Jail and charged with multiple crimes including aggravated burglary. On Monday February 29th Franklin County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to a report of a burglary on Damron Road. After making contact with the owner of the residence, deputies notified investigators who through investigation were able to make contact with four individuals who are believed to have committed the crime. Manchester Firemen go through Training
Manchester Firefighters completed Engine Company Operations Training-First 5 Minutes this past weekend with the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD). Manchester Firefighters along with firefighters from across the state participated in this very in-depth training in the MFRD training area. Captain Terry Smith from MFRD was the lead instructor for the training along with a several other Captains and Lt’s and firefighters from MFRD. They provided outstanding training to all who attended. Murder Trial to begin in Franklin County
Todd E. Dalton, the second of four defendants charged in the 2013 Corey N. Matthews’ murder, will go on trial Wednesday once the jury has been selected. All four defendants one time all lived in Coffee County. Last summer, David Jenkins, who was the first of the defendants to go on trial for Matthews’ murder, was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole on June 9, 2015. A Manchester man has been charged the theft of a dirt bike belonging to an Alabama man. Eugene J. Kinney III, 19, of Manchester has been charged with theft of property. An Alabama man reported on Feb. 26 to Tullahoma Police Officer Mickey Blanton that his dirt bike was stolen from him in the parking lot of Bel Aire School. Gas Prices begin to Rise
Motorists are enjoying the lowest gas prices during this time of year since 2004. However, the current average remains at an all-time low since January 2009. “Motorists are saving 60-70 cents for every gallon of gasoline compared to this time last year,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. The Tennessee average price for a gallon of gasoline is $1.53 – 2 cents more than last week, 65 cents less than this time last year.
