Bridge at Crumpton Creek on Cat Creek Road to Close for Repairs

The Tennessee Department of Transportation has informed Coffee County Road Superintendent Benton Bartlett that the bridge over Crumpton’s Creek on Cat Creek Road must be closed for repairs. A bridge evaluation report requires the bridge be closed after notification. Hillsboro Man Arrested after Burglary in Tullahoma

On Tuesday Tullahoma Police started an investigation that someone had broken into White Laundry at 405 West Carroll St. Investigator Tyler Hatfield states that a male subject allegedly stole coins and other property from the business. Hatfield also claims that the man vandalized the business. Hatfield states in the arrest warrant that the man was arrested and attempted to give a false name by claiming to be his brother and was arrested. A drug take-back event has been scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30. The event is sponsored by the Coffee County Anti-Drug Coalition and area police and the sheriff’s department. TNReady Testing Contract Cancelled

The Tennessee Department of Education announced Wednesday it is terminating its contract with Measurement Inc., due to several missed deadlines. Measurement Inc., was responsible for the TNReady test. In a release, the department said all school districts were still waiting on some testing materials for third through eighth grades to arrive. Officials said some 2 million testing documents had yet to be shipped. The announcement was made at a press conference Wednesday afternoon. Tullahoma Man Arrested after Woman is Attacked

A Tullahoma man was arrested April 25 for assaulting a Roosevelt Street resident. Justin Adam Crutchfield, 26, of Cumberland Avenue was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary following the alleged incident. According to a report by Tullahoma Police Officer Mickey Blanton, Crutchfield broke into the residence and began to strangle the female at the residence. Derrick Nathan Harr, 26, of Decherd was arrested April 20 after he was indicted by the April term of the Coffee County Grand Jury on rape charges. This was a four count indictment. Legal Aid Society Launches New Program with Coffee County General Sessions Court

Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands announced this week that it has launched a new program with the Coffee County General Sessions Court to support pro se litigants. Pro se litigants are those who do not have an attorney, but rather represent themselves in court.
