Coffee County came up just short on Friday night in high school football. The Raiders hosted 11th ranked Columbia in District 8-AAA play. In the very high scoring game the Lions took the lead at 50-42 with 27 seconds left. Senior Jimmy Hollandsworth, who started at quarterback the first two games of the season switched to TE against Columbia. Police Chase Starts In Manchester Ends In Bedford County

Ricky Dale George   What started as a routine traffic stop in Manchester ended up in a chase that ended in Bedford County. According to Manchester Assistant Chief Adam Floied, around 11 a.m. Thursday morning Manchester Officer Ernie Colvin spotted a Chevrolet pickup truck around the Wiley Street and Spring Street area being operated by an individual whom the officer knew did not have a license. UPDATE!! Serious Crash Thursday Afternoon Sends TDOT Workers To Vanderbilt Medical Center

Two employees of the Tennessee Department of Transportation were flown to a Nashville hospital Thursday following a serious crash on Interstate 24. The accident happened on I-24 West near mile marker 99 just northwest of Manchester around 1:00 p.m. Traffic was already backing up in the area due to a previous crash and crews were also mowing the lawn further down the interstate. Two TDOT workers, 54-year-old Tony Hayworth and 50-year-old David Shelton, noticed the backup and decided to get into their utility truck and turn on a flashing sign that read “move over” in order to alert oncoming...
