Raiders WIN!!

Coffee County grabbed a 14-13 lead at halftime in Crossville and then dominated the 2nd half beating Cumberland County 42-19.
Deangelo Rozier had a big night running the ball 17 times for 157 yards and 3 touchdowns. Peyton Meeker continues to have a big year as he went 14 of 19 for 197 yards and 2 TD passes. The Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the Game was Jesse Brown who had his biggest night ever at receiver with 8 catches, 117 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Raiders will host Franklin County Friday night at Carden-Jarrell Field for homecoming.

College Football Report

Jeff Driskel ran for 177 yards and three touchdowns, and the fourth-ranked Florida Gators beat Vanderbilt 31-17 on Saturday night to stay undefeated.
Vanderbilt (2-4, 1-3) lost in front of its first sellout crowd since Florida’s visit in 2008.
Zac Stacy had 92 yards rushing and a TD to lead the Commodores. Vandy plays at home again this Saturday as Auburn comes to Nashville for an 11:21am kickoff.

Lady Raiders Win In Soccer On Senior Night

In high school soccer last night (Oct. 9, 2012) in Manchester, the Lady Raiders took on the Lady Eagles. Coffee County got the win beating Shelbyville 5-4. Izzy Huddleston and Katie Reed scored 2 goals each and Tasha Anderson added one goal.

Lady Raiders Finish In 2nd Place In District 6-AAA

District 6-AAA championship volleyball was played on Tuesday night in Sparta. The 3 seed Coffee County took on the 1 seed Cookeville. The Lady Cavs won the first 2 sets, 25-16 and 25-14 as the match went into the 3rd set. Cookeville won the set 25-18 and won the district championship.
Beth Kinser was named the Gateway Tire and Service Player of the Game with 3 kills and 3 blocks.
Haley Banks and Brooke Carter earned All-District 6-AAA. Garnering 2nd team honors was Beth Kinser.
The Lady Raiders will play on the road next week in the region tournament.

Lady Raiders Will Play For Volleyball Championship

Coffee County took on Warren County last night in the District 6-AAA volleyball tournament. The Lady Raiders won an exciting set one 25-22. The Lady Pioneers got on a roll in sets 2 and 3 winning 25-10 and 25-20. Coffee County came roaring back in set 4 picking up a 25-15 win. In the deciding 5th set and the Lady Raiders pulled off the upset defeating Warren County 15-10.  Coffee County will play for the championship tonight at 7pm in Sparta. Haley Banks was named the Gateway Tire and Service Player of the Game. The win also puts the Lady Raiders into the region tournament. Banks led Coffee County with 14 blocks, 6 assists and 5 aces. Brooke Carter had 7 aces and Hollie Moore stepped up with 33 assists.

Vikings Bury Titans

Jared Cook

Jared Cook had the only touchdown for the Tennessee Titans in a 30-7 loss at Minnesota yesterday (Oct. 7, 2012). Cook caught a 10 yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck.
Percy Harvin had a big day for the Vikings with 108 yards receiving and a rushing TD.
Chris Johnson had another bad day for the Titans with only 19 yards on 13 carries.
Tennessee at 1-4 will host the 2-2 Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night with kickoff set for 7:20pm.

Opportunities missed would be the story of the game on Friday in Fayetteville for the Coffee County. The Raiders moved the ball into Lincoln County territory several times but could not come up with a score falling to 0-7 on the year with 21-0 loss to the Falcons in the “Pit”.
Coffee County had 130 yards of offense on the evening. Deagelo Rozier had 16 carries for 53 yards and Peyton Meeker hit on 13 of 28 passes for 86 yards. Meeker has now passed for 1,000 yards on the season.
Zach Watson had a solid game on defense with several stops and a fumble recovery. Watson was named the Gateway Tire and Service Player of the Game.
The Raiders will travel to winless Cumberland County on Friday.

Dores Tame Tigers

A botched Missouri extra-point snap and a bobbled punt attempt that led to a safety helped Vanderbilt beat Missouri 19-15 Saturday night, depriving the former Big 12 school of its first Southeastern Conference win.
Zac Stacy rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries for Vanderbilt (2-3, 1-2), which earned its first conference win. Vandy QB Jordan Rodgers was 14 of 24 for 182 yards and one interception.
The Dores will host red hot Florida Saturday at 5pm.
