The Chicago Bears jumped out to a 28-2 first quarter lead, forced five turnovers and cruised to a 51-20 victory over the Titans Sunday at LP Field. Chicago scored on offense, defense and special teams, improving to 7-1 on the season. Former Vanderbilt QB Jay Cutler connected with Brandon Marshall on three touchdowns, while Matt Forte rushed for 103 yards and a score. Chris Johnson rushed for 141 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown for the Titans, who fell to 3-6 and will look to rebound next Sunday at Miami.

Vandy One Game Closer To Bowl
Vanderbilt dominated Kentucky on offense, defense and special teams Saturday to jump to a 27-point halftime lead and coast to a 40-0 win.
The Commodores (5-4, 3-3 Southeastern Conference) scored touchdowns on 4 of their five first-half drives, none of which took longer than 4 minutes, 19 seconds.
Jordan Rodgers drove Vanderbilt 71 yards on 11 plays to begin the game, ending with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Matthews. Rodgers also threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Chris Boyd in the second quarter and finished 18 of 29 for 220 yards with one interception.
The Commodores are on the road this Saturday as they travel to Ole Miss. A Vanderbilt win will put them into bowl game for the 2nd year in a row.

Motlow Wins Opening Games
The Lady Bucks opened the season with an 89-41 thrashing of Bryan College in Dayton, TN Friday night. The 48-point margin of victory is the 6th-largest in school history. Congratulations to coach Aaron Holland on his first win as coach of the Motlow ladies.
The Motlow Bucks opened the 2012 season with a 96-62 win over Bryan College.
The two teams will host Columbia St on Friday night in the opening home game of the year.

Motlow To Open Basketball Season
The Motlow Bucks and Lady Bucks will open the 2012-13 basketball season when they travel to Dayton, Tenn., to face Bryan College teams tonight (Friday, Nov. 2). Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. central time.
On November 1, 2010 the Bucks scored 123 points against Bryan, the third-highest total in school history. Later in the same season, on January 19, 2011, the Bucks allowed Bryan only 26 points, setting a new school record for fewest points allowed in a game.
The Lady Bucks also set school records on November 1, 2010 against Bryan when they beat the Lions 100-28. The 72 point victory margin was the largest in Motlow history. The 100 points scored by the Lady Bucks was the eighth most ever.
The first home contest and the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) opener will come a week later, with Columbia State scheduled to visit Copperweld Arena on Friday, Nov. 9. The women are set for a 6 p.m. start and the men will follow at 8 p.m. There is no admission charge to Motlow regular season athletic contests.
Preds Alumni Game Set
With the NHL locked out and no end in site the Nashville Predators are turning back the clock.
The Predators will battle the St. Louis Blues in an alumni game for charity next month.
The teams will meet Saturday, November 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the A-Game Sportsplex in Franklin.
A $5 donation will be accepted at the door. All of the money raised will benefit Hurricane Sandy relief, as well as the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Former Predators JP Dumont and Stu Grimson will be on the ice with color commentator and former Calgary Flames head coach Terry Crisp running things on the bench for the Preds alumni with Brent Peterson.
Players for the Blues will include Kelly Chase and former Blackhawks goalie Darren Pang.
Raider Golf Banquet Held

At Monday night’s Coffee County Red Raider golf banquet Jeff Cox with Gateway Tire presented the Gateway Tire/Thunder Radio MVP’s. For girls golf Hollee Sadler, who made into the TSSAA State Golf Tournament, won the award. In boys play Andy Stout for the 2nd year in a row earned MVP by leading the team in average score.
Three players were named to the All-District 6-AAA team; Matt Johnson, Andy Stout and Hollee Sadler.
Vanderbilt Basketball Starts Nov 10
The top six scorers are gone from the squad that knocked off Kentucky for the Southeastern Conference tournament championship, Vanderbilt’s first since 1951, with three taken in the NBA draft. Stallings has no seniors with John Jenkins an early departure for the NBA and only two juniors.
Stallings said they know their talent level is not what it was last season and the Commodores’ goal is to be greater together. He said if they can do that, the Commodores will surprise some people.
Vanderbilt is coming off the first three consecutive NCAA tournament berths in school history. Junior Kyle Fuller said the young Commodores are hungry for success.

Season Comes To A Close For Raider Football
The football season ended on a bad note for Coffee County Friday night. On Senior Night at Carden-Jarrell Field the Raiders fell to Cookeville 33-7.
The Red Raiders used some trickery to score its only TD. In the second quarter Deangelo Rozier took a handoff and then pitched it back to Jesse Brown who hit a wide-open Jeffrey Simmons, who waltzed into the end zone for a 57-yard touchdown. Simmons caught five passes for 81 yards and earned along with Center Tyler King the Co-Gateway Tire and Service Players of the Game.
The Raiders finished 2-8 on the year and said good-bye to 19 seniors. Coffee County will return 7 starters on offense and 7 on defense for the 2013 season.

Vandy Rolls
Jordan Rodgers threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score to lead Vanderbilt to a 49-7 victory over Massachusetts on Saturday night.
Sluggish most of the first half, the Commodores (4-4) broke open a 7-point game with two late first-half touchdowns in 55 seconds. They added four touchdowns in the third quarter to claim successive wins for the first time since starting 3-0 last year.
Along with an interception return for a score by Trey Wilson, Jonathan Krause returned a punt 40 yards to the end zone. It marked the first time a Vanderbilt punt return went the distance since 1999.
Vandy plays at Kentucky at 11am Saturday on Thunder Radio.
