The football season ended on a bad note for Coffee County Friday night. On Senior Night at Carden-Jarrell Field the Raiders fell to Cookeville 33-7.
The Red Raiders used some trickery to score its only TD. In the second quarter Deangelo Rozier took a handoff and then pitched it back to Jesse Brown who hit a wide-open Jeffrey Simmons, who waltzed into the end zone for a 57-yard touchdown. Simmons caught five passes for 81 yards and earned along with Center Tyler King the Co-Gateway Tire and Service Players of the Game.
The Raiders finished 2-8 on the year and said good-bye to 19 seniors. Coffee County will return 7 starters on offense and 7 on defense for the 2013 season.
