8/11/12 —- Anna Mae Stewart

Anna Mae Stewart, age 97 of Huntland, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Southern TN Medical Center in Winchester.

She was born June 7, 1915 in Huntland, Tennessee; the daughter of the late Jesse T. and Elva (Rich) McClure.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Huntland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Stewart, daughter, Joyce Elizabeth Duffy, Son, James Mitchell Stewart, sisters, Mary Edith McClure, Jessie McClure, Addie McClure; brother, Clyde McClure and son-in-law, Lawrence Duffy.

Surviving are daughter, Judy Stewart of Huntland, TN,; grandchildren, Walter Duffy of Acworth, GA, Cindy Lynn of Marietta, GA, Pam Cleland of Dallas, GA, Carly Bruce of Murfreesboro, TN, Cathryn Bruce of Huntland, TN, and Claire Bruce of Huntland, TN; and great-grandchildren, Austin Duffy, Ashley Duffy, Kelsey Lynn and Hannah Cleland. A Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday at the Mt. Carmel CP Church in Huntland.. Interment will be in McClure Cemetery, Huntland, TN.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Mt. Carmel CP Church.

8/12/12 — Pascol Barham “Pat” Farris

Pascol Barham “Pat” Farris of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, August 9th, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center, at the age of 89.

Mr. Farris was born in Bridgeport, AL to the late Pascol H. and Lennis Farris and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Tullahoma.

He worked as a self-employed Entrepreneur as the owner and operator of Farris Mini Warehouses, and had several rental properties. During the 50’s and 60’s he owned the White Hen Poultry Farm and home delivered eggs with the help of his wife and children. Mr. Farris also worked as a fireman at AEDC and William Northern Field and participated in three mission trips to Africa in association with the Tennessee Baptist Association.

In addition to his parents Mr. Farris is preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Farris Barabas and one brother, Richard Farris.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Willie Belle Farris of Tullahoma; four daughters; Sue Banks and husband Raymond of Tullahoma, Gail Rossman of Tullahoma, Patricia Sharp and husband Gilbert of Portland, Oregon, Syble Throneberry and husband Tom of Tullahoma; one sister, Sue Rossman of Tullahoma; nine grandchildren, Paige Banks, Kitty Earl, Laura Lee Keffer, Valerie Rossman, Dawn Warren, Sunya Sharp, Trish Walsh, Chris Barabas, and Craig Barabas; one step grand-child, T.J. Throneberry and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Kilgore Funeral Home on Saturday, August 11th, 2012 4:00-8:00pm.

Funeral Services are Sunday, August 12th, 2012, at 2:00pm, in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Tim McGehee and Bro. Gary Irvin officiating.

Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma.

8/11/12 — James E. Campbell “Jimmy”

Mr. James E. Campbell “Jimmy” age 70 of Tracy City passed away Wednesday at Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee.

He was a retired Tracy City merchant. He and his family had operated the Western Auto and later Campbell Supply Company in Tracy City for many years and had built residential homes and developed residential sub-divisions.

Mayor of Tracy City, Jimmy had been appointed by the Tracy City Council to serve as mayor until the next city election. He was very active in community affairs, served on the Tracy City Public Utility Board and was very proud to be from Tracy City and to represent its citizens.

He was a son of the late James Marion “Jim” Campbell and Margaret Sanders Campbell and was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Sue Campbell.

Survivors include his son, James E. “Eddie” Campbell, II of Tracy City; daughter, Susan D. Campbell of Winchester; brother, Roger Campbell of Tracy City; grandchildren, Kelly Campbell, Savannah Campbell and Alexandria Campbell.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday in the Foster & Lay Chapel with Brother Wayne Simpson officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or your charity of choice.

8/10/12 — Charles Allen Gilliam

Charles Allen “Mean Boy” Gilliam, age 40, of Estill Springs, passed away August 8, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center.

In his younger years he enjoyed spending time with his family while hunting and fishing.

Mr. Gilliam is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Gilliam; sister, Sherry Gilliam; grandfathers, Frances Stephens, Houston Gilliam and Robert Lewis.

He is survived by his father and step-mom, Charles (Gail) Gilliam of Estill Springs; brothers, Steve (Brandy) Gilliam of Estill Springs, Bradley (Courtney) Gilliam of Winchester; sister, Joy (Jody) Cantreal of Knoxville; 2 nieces, 2 nephews; grandmothers, Jean Stephens of Winchester, Nancy Louis Lewis of Estill Springs; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 10, 2012 at 2pm from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Watson-North Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 6-8pm from Watson-North Funeral Home.

8/8/12 — Larry Howard Trail

 Mr. Larry Howard Trail, age 65, of Manchester, passed away Wednesday morning at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Trail was born in Manchester, the son of the late George and Jewel Crosslin Trail. He was a steelworker for Sverdrup and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a coach for the Al White Little League Baseball team for many years.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Trail was also preceded in death by a sister, Susan Trail Bullard.

He is survived by his two sons, Greg (Terra) Trail of Manchester and Steven Trail of Manchester; one daughter, Autumn Trail of Manchester; six siblings, Charles (Marie) Trail of Murfreesboro, Wanda (Guy) Gilley of Manchester, Geraldine (Jimmy) Turnage of Hillsboro, George (Peggy) Trail of Murfreesboro, Mike Trail of Manchester, and David (Pam) Trail of Fayetteville, NC; and two grandchildren, Libby Trail and Tyler Trail of Manchester.

Lisa Frances Rollins, age 47, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 in Emeral-Hodgson Hospital, Sewanee, Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by her father, Edward “Bud” Rollins, mother, Hannah Frances Bouldin Rollins.

Survivors include her companion, Edward George Cole, sons; Robert Glenn Rollins, Manchester, TN; Coty Dewayne Jacobs, Tullahoma, TN; Brothers; Chris Rollins, Cleveland, OH; Frankie and Rickey Rollins both of Tracy City, TN; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Vaughn Konrath and Reverend Ralph Shrum officiating, burial will be in the Summerfield Cemetery.

Family will receive friends, Wednesday from 2-9 PM at the funeral home.

8/9/12 —Dorothy Jane “Dot” Jennings

Dorothy Jane “Dot” Jennings, age 80 of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at her residence.

She was a dairy farmer.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John “Junior” Jennings; parents, Ben and Florence Walker Neal; sisters, Mary Carlton and Johnnie Moorehead; and a brother, Ben Neal, Jr.

Survived by sons, Lonnie Ray (Sue) Jennings Sr. of Flintville, Michael (Paulette) Jennings of Lynchburg and Barkley (Pam) Jennings Sr. of Shelbyville; sisters, Sue (James) McAnally of Adrian, MI, Rita (Ralcon) Waggoner of Nashville, Nita (Dee) Benson and Lynette Neal of Belvidere; sister-in-law, Delores Neal of Adrian, MI; brothers, Billy T. (Jo) Neal of Shelbyville, Dale (Margaret) Neal of Belvidere, Jerry (Connie) Neal of Tullahoma, Ted (Wanda) Neal of Flintville; sister-in-law, Peggy Goodman; 9 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

8/7/12 — William Carlton “Bill” Syler

William Carlton “Bill” Syler, age 84 of Winchester, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at St. Thomas Hospital.

He had served in the US Army and was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sandra Syler; sons, Brad and Brian Syler of Winchester; daughter, Joy Martin of Murfreesboro; brother, James E. Syler of Winchester; and grandchildren, Jamie Syler, Cody Syler, Kayce Syler and Ericka Martin.

Visitation is 5-8 PM Monday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Phillip Cleek officiating.

8/9/12 — Roy C. Sain

Funeral services for Mr. Roy C. Sain, age 81 of Bradyville, TN will be conducted Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Jim Terry officiating.

Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00 PM-9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Sain passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Mufreesboro.

He was born January 2, 1931 in Coffee County, Tennessee the son of the late Jim Polk Sain and Pearl Elizabeth Gentry.

He attended Hopewell Elementary School and Coffee Manchester Central High School where he and his high school sweet heart, Leola Crosslin graduated in May of 1949. They married August 12, 1949 and started their family shortly thereafter. Mr. Sain was a dedicated brick mason working in Cannon, Coffee, Rutherford and surrounding counties for over 60 years. He was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers since 1951. Through the years, he enjoyed playing horseshoes with family and friends as well as long drives on country roads. Roy had a love for quail hunting and baseball. He also enjoyed visiting at Brad’s Automotive Shop to catch up on all the latest events. Most recently, he was a member of the Coffee County Senior Center where he enjoyed playing Rook and visiting. He attended Lumley Stand Church of Christ. He will be forever remembered as a loving family man who was very devoted to his wife, children and extended family. Roy especially loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Leola Crosslin Sain of Bradyville, TN; two sons, Daniel Nelson Sain and wife, Laurie of Bradyville, TN; and Barry Eugene Sain and wife, Peggy of Manchester; eight grandchildren, Brad Sain and wife, Joni of Bradyville; Frank Sain and wife, Wendy of Colorado Springs, CO; Melanie Taylor and husband, David of Bentonville, AR; Joseph Sain of Buffalo, NY; Jason Sain of Manchester; Brent Sain and wife, Tonda of Manchester; Allison Sain Chumley and husband, Rece of Bradyville, TN; and Ashley Abellana and husband, Shaun of Morrison; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dale Sain and wife, Ruth of Morrison, TN and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Funeral services for Dr. David Stobaugh, age 56 of Manchester, will be conducted Monday, August 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Spirit and Truth Church, 128 Bowling Alley Lane, Manchester, TN 37355 with Dr. Benny Hand and Pastor Thomas Causland officiating.

Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Monday at the church from 12:00 Noon until time of services.

Pastor David went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 2, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 7, 1956 in Wilmington, DE the son of the late Glen Stobaugh and Barbara Anne Jenkins Stobaugh. While living in Great Falls, Montana in March of 1981, David met Autumn Walker, and the two were married in June 1982. The couple then moved to San Antonio, TX where Pastor David received his commission in the United States Army in 1985. He received his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Baylor University in 1987. The family then moved to Ft. Benning, GA where David was employed as a Physical Therapist at the base hospital. On November 21, 1990, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain.

David and his family joined Believers Church in Auburn, AL in 1993, where he met his spiritual father and apostle, Dr. Benny Hand. David was ordained as a pastor where he fullfilled his true calling in serving and loving people. In 2002, he was sent out to Manchester, TN, where he founded the full gospel work Spirit and Truth Church. Pastor David radiated a love for this new found church and his love for the Lord by pouring out his heart and life into God’s people, as well as serving the people of Manchester and the surrounding counties as a Physical Therapist. Through the years, David continued to study both Physical Therapy as well as Theology. In 2010, he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Baylor University, and through Christian Life School of Theology, David received his Masters in Theology. He enjoyed playing guitar in his church worship services as well as with friends. Some of his hobbies included fishing, gardening and being in the outdoors. Most of all, Pastor David loved his wife, children and grandchildren who will miss him beyond measure, but are comforted in the knowledge that he is with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Mark Alan Stobaugh and a sister-in-law, Lisa Stobaugh.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Autumn Stobaugh of Manchester; five children, Russell Stobaugh of Lawton, OK; Stephanie Strong and husband, Eric of Valley, AL; Nathan Stobaugh and wife, Nicole of Manchester; Sarah Stobaugh of Estill Springs, TN; and Ruth Stobaugh of Manchester; 10 grandchildren, Russell “R.J.” Stobaugh, Connor and Bryson Stobaugh; Ericka, Alex, Alayna, Matthew, and Hali Strong and Josiah Stobaugh and Asher Stobaugh. Also surviving are two brothers, Jeff Stobaugh and wife, April of Altus, OK and Steven J. Stobaugh and wife, Lori of Loma Rica, CA.
