8/6/12 — David Stobaugh

Funeral services for Dr. David Stobaugh, age 56 of Manchester, will be conducted Monday, August 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Spirit and Truth Church, 128 Bowling Alley Lane, Manchester, TN 37355 with Dr. Benny Hand and Pastor Thomas Causland officiating.

Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Monday at the church from 12:00 Noon until time of services.

Pastor David went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 2, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 7, 1956 in Wilmington, DE the son of the late Glen Stobaugh and Barbara Anne Jenkins Stobaugh. While living in Great Falls, Montana in March of 1981, David met Autumn Walker, and the two were married in June 1982. The couple then moved to San Antonio, TX where Pastor David received his commission in the United States Army in 1985. He received his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Baylor University in 1987. The family then moved to Ft. Benning, GA where David was employed as a Physical Therapist at the base hospital. On November 21, 1990, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain.

David and his family joined Believers Church in Auburn, AL in 1993, where he met his spiritual father and apostle, Dr. Benny Hand. David was ordained as a pastor where he fullfilled his true calling in serving and loving people. In 2002, he was sent out to Manchester, TN, where he founded the full gospel work Spirit and Truth Church. Pastor David radiated a love for this new found church and his love for the Lord by pouring out his heart and life into God’s people, as well as serving the people of Manchester and the surrounding counties as a Physical Therapist. Through the years, David continued to study both Physical Therapy as well as Theology. In 2010, he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Baylor University, and through Christian Life School of Theology, David received his Masters in Theology. He enjoyed playing guitar in his church worship services as well as with friends. Some of his hobbies included fishing, gardening and being in the outdoors. Most of all, Pastor David loved his wife, children and grandchildren who will miss him beyond measure, but are comforted in the knowledge that he is with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Mark Alan Stobaugh and a sister-in-law, Lisa Stobaugh.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Autumn Stobaugh of Manchester; five children, Russell Stobaugh of Lawton, OK; Stephanie Strong and husband, Eric of Valley, AL; Nathan Stobaugh and wife, Nicole of Manchester; Sarah Stobaugh of Estill Springs, TN; and Ruth Stobaugh of Manchester; 10 grandchildren, Russell “R.J.” Stobaugh, Connor and Bryson Stobaugh; Ericka, Alex, Alayna, Matthew, and Hali Strong and Josiah Stobaugh and Asher Stobaugh. Also surviving are two brothers, Jeff Stobaugh and wife, April of Altus, OK and Steven J. Stobaugh and wife, Lori of Loma Rica, CA.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Spirit and Truth Church Building Fund, 128 Bowling Alley Road, Manchester, TN 37355.
