11/2/12 — Angela Christine Hulsey

ANGELA CHRISTINE HULSEY, age 46, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tenn., following an extended illness.

Miss. Hulsey was disabled.  Her family lost their little angel that was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Ralph and Christine Hulsey, and a brother, Jerry Hulsey.

She is survived by her brothers; Billy Hulsey and Dwight Hulsey both of Tullahoma, Bobby (Beverly) Hulsey of Manchester, Tenn., sisters; Joann Hulsey and Brenda Bailey both of Tullahoma, Carla Hulsey  of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Ginger Hulsey of Ardmore, Tenn.

Visitation for Miss. Hulsey is scheduled for 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Friday evening, November 2,  in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with the service to follow at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Randy Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in the Booneville Cemetery in Lynchburg beside her mother.

10/29/12 — Glenda Kay Shelton

GLENDA KAY SHELTON, age 59, of Wartrace, Tenn., departed this life suddenly on October 29, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tenn.

Mrs. Shelton was born in McMinnville, Tenn. to the late Herchel Glenn and Hazel Kay Campbell Brady.  She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her brothers; Richard Tate and Grady Tate.

She is survived by her husband, Marcie R. Shelton, Sr. of Wartrace, daughters; Elizabeth (Lonnie) Riggins, Hallie Shelton all of Tullahoma, Michelle (Timothy) Crouch of Summitville, sons; Doug Shrum, Marcie Shelton, Jr. and Andy (Brenda) Shelton all of Manchester, Tenn., Joseph Shrum, Timmy (Danielle) Shelton all of Tullahoma, Tenn., 16-grandchildren, sisters; Bonnie Schultz of Cowan, Shirley (Buck) Borne of Greutli Laager, Tenn., Brenda (Larry) Barnes of Cowan, Ellen Meeks of Decherd, brothers; Allen (Crysal) Caldwell, Jesse (Nancy) Tate all of Tracy City, Tenn.

Family services are scheduled.

 

11/1/12 — Harrell T. Hunt

Harrell T. Hunt, age 94 of  Smyrna,  Tennessee and former Manchester area resident, passed away on Monday, October  29, 2012 at the Mayfield  Rehabilitation Center in Smyrna.
He was a retired  Store Manager for the H.G. Hill Food Stores.
He was born in Coffee County, TN to  his parents, the late Thomas Hunt and Melvina Crosslin Hunt. He was also  preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mary Rowland Hunt and grandson,  Jeffrey Burks.
He is survived by his daughter, Freeda J. Barker of Smyrna, TN;  son, Gene Hunt and his wife Evelyn of Antioch, TN; two grandchildren, Dana L.  Campbell of Smyrna, TN and Travis Hunt of Fairview, TN; four  great-grandchildren, Michael Barker, Jacob, Brandon & Kaleigh Campbell; and  one great-great-grandchild, Aubree Barker; and a host of other relatives and  friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until  1:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will follow the  visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the Central  Chapel. Burial will be at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

10/28/12 — Thomas “Bill” Tinkler

Mr. Thomas “Bill” Tinkler, age 84, of Tullahoma, TN., passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012, at The Health Care Center at Adams Place in Murfreesboro, TN.

A resident of Annapolis, MD, for 38 years, he has lived in Tullahoma, for the last six years.

Bill was a native of St. Francisville, LA, and worked on a tug boat on the Mississippi River before joining the Army Air Corps after WWII. His love for aviation was evident from his early years, learning to fly from a Women’s Army Service Pilot (WASP) at the age of 16 and going on to have a successful career with United Air Lines. He was the recipient of the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for 50 years of accident free flying. While in his forties, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. However, through perserverance and a positive attitude, he continued to fly with United Air Lines as the first commercial pilot with a MS diagnosis. He retired from United Air Lines in 1982, but continued to fly privately in his own aircraft for many years afterward.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Christine, and his sister, Claire Pegeen.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; his brother John; and his children William, Walter, and Katherine; his grandchildren Micah, Ruth, and Michelle; his great-grandchildren Dakota and Avery; and his stepson Zach.

A Gone West Celebration will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 PM in the North Hanger at the Tullahoma Airport. The family will receive family and friends following the Celebration.

10/28/12 — Mary Lee Shockley

Mary Lee Shockley, age 63, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma on Sunday, October 28, 2012, following a brief illness.

She was of the Baptist faith.  Ms. Shockley was a retired nurse a career that spanned twenty-five years.  She was first employed at Queens City Infirmary and later worked at the former Sunbridge Nursing Home and Golden Living Center-Mtn. View in Winchester.

Ms. Shockley was preceded in death by her parents; Jessie and Lillie Shockley and a sister, Linda Fay Searcy.

She is survived by her son, Keith (Jeanetta) Shields of Winchester, Tenn., daughter, Tressa (Tommy) Ford of Lynchburg, Tenn., and a special friend, Roger Ray of Tullahoma.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Kody, Destany and Chaz Shields, Jonathan, Dekota, Erika, and Abby Ford and one  great-granddaughter, Kenslie Watts.

It was Ms. Shockley’s request that she be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made by contacting Grant Funeral Services for information.

10/30/12 —– Charles Warren Hill

 Charles Warren Hill, age 67 of  Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Middle  Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.

He is survived by his wife Irene H.  Hill of Manchester, TN; son, Wayne Finchum of Manchester, TN; brother, Tom Hill  of Manchester, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was a retired  Meter Technician with the Elk River Public Utility District where he served for  over forty years.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 11:00  a.m.  until  1:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service  will follow at the Fredonia Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

10//28/12 — Herman McCormick

  —Herman McCormick, age 80, passed away on October 26, 2012 at his home in Manchester, Tennessee with his loving family by his side.

He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator with the City of Manchester Street Department.

He was preceded in death his parents, the late Hubert McCormick and Essie Reed McCormick.

Mr. McCormick is survived by his wife, Velma L. Johnson McCormick of Manchester; children, Tina Morris, Haven Sherrill, Ricky Sherrill and Harold Sherrill; sister, Juanita Dickerson; brother, Clarence McCormick; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bible Church on South Spring Street in Manchester with Brother Vernon Wagoner and Brother Larry Huling officiating.

10/30/12 — Marlina Michelle Stacy Fults

Memorial Services for Marlina Michelle Stacy Fults, age 35 of Carthage, Tennessee will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 2 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bret Meeks officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until service time.

Mrs. Fults passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Medical Center of Manchester.

 Mrs. Fults was born on November 4, 1976 in Frankfort, Kentucky the daughter of Robert Mark Stacy of Clearwater, Florida and Virginia Lewis Stacy of Nixa, Missouri.

 In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandmother, Hettie Stacy of Frankfort, Ky; three brothers, Atreyu J., Donald W., and Zach Duke all of Manchester; one sister, Sonja Perkins and her husband Thomas of Springfield, Missouri: three nieces, Victoria Russell, Karen Ludwig, and Serra Perkins; one nephew, Anthony Perkins and her true love, Danny Bly of Carthage, TN.

10/30/12 — Joseph Paul Fleming

Memorial Services for Mr. Joseph Paul Fleming, age 21 of Manchester, Tennessee will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 7 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Bro. Pat Allison officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until service time.

Mr. Fleming passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 in Manchester.

 Mr. Fleming was born May 4, 1991 in Murfreesboro, TN., the son of Walter R. Fleming of Manchester and the late Toni Denise Womack Fleming.  Mr. Fleming enjoyed listened to music, watching movies and playing with his dog, Hyde.

 In addition to his father, Mr. Fleming is survived by one sister, Jessica Fain and her husband, Tommy of Marietta, GA.; grandparents, Beverly and Joe McKervey of Tullahoma; aunt, Lori Utterback of Manchester; niece, Emily Fain; cousins, Sarah and Ryan Utterback and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

 In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Alcoholics Anonymous and the Multi-County Cancer Support Network.

10/27/12 — John “Little John” Sublett, Jr.

John “Little John” Sublett, Jr.,  age 41, of Nashville, formerly of Franklin County, TN, passed away October 25, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Sublett is a 1991 class graduate of Franklin County High School. He loved fishing, camping, 4-wheeling and hunting.

Mr. Sublett is preceded in death by his parents, John Sublett, SR and Bertha Nash Sublett.

He is survived by his sister, Sonseearay (Terry) Gaither of Manchester; nieces, Kayla Hall and Kristin Ray Shahan both of Manchester; step-nephew, Justin Gaither of Manchester.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 5pm.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 2pm from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Brazier officiating.

Interment will follow in Watson-North Memorial Park.
