1/7/13 — DAWN MARIE CARUSO

DAWN MARIE CARUSO, age 47, of Manchester, Tenn. formerly of Hammond, Indiana departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2013 after losing her battle with cancer.

Dawn was a loving and caring daughter and sister.  She was born with disabilities but was still proud she accomplished graduation from high school.  She loved music and was often found with her earphones in listening to her favorite songs.

Dawn is survived by her brothers; Ricky (Rhonda) Caruso of Valparaiso, Indiana, Kenneth (Anna) Caruso of Manchester, Tenn., sister, Vickey Richardson of Hobart, Indiana.  Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held in Crown Point, Indiana.

1/10/13 — Leroy Luna

Mr. Leroy Luna, 76, of Manchester, TN passed away at Horizon Health and Rehab Monday, January 7, 2013.

Mr. Luna is survived by his wife, Dorothy David Luna; daughters, Cindy Howard, Kim Luna, and step-daughter, Lavonda Smith; sons, James Robert Luna, Roger Lee Luna, and step-sons, Jeff Chandler and Anthony Finney; five grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and one great-grandson along with several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Luna was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Luna; sister, Clara Bell Morris; brother, Bobby Joe Luna; and parents Roy and Ola Luna.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at Concord Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 5 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home chapel.

1/12/13 — John Sparacino Jr.

John Sparacino Jr. , age 76 of Tullahoma, Tn. passed away January 7, 2013 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma.

Born October 11th, 1936 in New York, NY to the late John Sparacino Sr. of Pozzallo, Italy and Josephine Mistretta.

He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia A. Sparacino (Lowhorn); daughters Dr. Kathy Sparacino of Hartselle, Al. and Lynn Sparacino of Tullahoma; granddaughter Shelby Sparacino of Tullahoma; sister Connie (Cookie) and her husband Bob Middleton of Ft.Lauderdale , half-sister Maria Carmelina, nieces Christina Gruendel and Sandi Malott and extended family Yvonne Donaldson, Jodi Wagner of Florida and Randy Middleton of Hermitage, Tn., and their families; stepson Douglas Doolittle, stepdaughters Lani Biller and Jan Desanti and dear brothers in the MJHS band; Fritz Reichert and wife Doris of Tucson, Az.; classmates Eddie Lowe of Alta Loma, Ca. and Ted McKinney of Riverside, Ca. and Edward (Eddie) Bass devoted friend of Hartselle, Al.

He graduated from Jackson High School in Miami in 1954 and attended University of Miami on a band scholarship (Trumpet). He was an outstanding Trumpet player arguably one of the top 2 players in Florida during the 50’s. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1962. He was proud of his military service as a Jet Mechanic. His successful career spanned multiple positions at AEDC Tullahoma, Tn. as craftsman and union steward to Manager of Contracts & Labor Relations. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife Virginia and playing golf with good friend Warren Christiansen. He had a keen interest in research; be it history, finance or home appliances – learning about how things work and fixing things were important and satisfying to him. He stayed close to many band members of the Jackson High School Band of 1954 routinely attending reunions in Florida.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held Saturday January 12th, 2013 at Kilgore Funeral Home 215 Mitchell Blvd. Tullahoma, TN. 37388 (931-455-0677) between 11am – 1pm, memorial services with brother Jack Hice officiating will be held at the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00pm.

The Burial service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens following the service.

1/12/13 — TERRY HORTON GUESS

TERRY HORTON GUESS, age 59, of Estill Springs, Tenn. departed this life suddenly on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Guess was employed for many years as a carpenter in the construction business.  Mr. Guess was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his Special friend, Nellie Teal of Estill Springs, brothers; Alvin Guess of Gary, Ind., Danny (Carol) Guess of Decherd, Tenn., sisters; Molly (Bill) Saint of Skyline, Ala., Joan (Eddie) Sawyer of Estill Springs, Tenn., Step-children; Dorothy Garner of Manchester, Norma Henshaw of Lincoln County, Tenn., Tonya Restler and Gypsy Walker both of Tullahoma, Teresa Ford of Lynchburg, Tenn., 17-step-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 P.M. Saturday Jan. 12, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 P.M.  Pastor John Anderson officiating.

1/10/13 — JIMMY LEE “FRED” STAFFORD

JIMMY LEE “FRED” STAFFORD, age 67, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life suddenly on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Stafford was employed for many years as a supervisor in the textile industry.  His favorite hobby was restoring antique cars.  He was a member of the Southern Wheels in Motion car club. Most of all, Mr. Stafford was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Stafford is survived by his wife, Joyce Stafford, sons; Mark (Robyn) Stafford of Shelbyville, Justin Stafford of Tullahoma, daughters; Kim Ray of Winchester and Teresa Graves of Oak Ridge, Tenn., sisters; Jean McBride of Georgia, Margaret Lehew of Tullahoma and Jackie Womack of Manchester, Tenn. grandchildren; Jason Holt, Kayla Holt, Heather Myers, Hannah Floyd, Tyler Stafford, and Matt France, and 9-great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening, Jan. 9th in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Services for Mr. Stafford will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Randy Jackson, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Manchester City Cemetery.

1/6/13 — Donald Leonard Robertson

Donald Leonard Robertson of Lynchburg, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013.  He was 76.

Mr. Robertson was born on September 12, 1936 in Akron, Ohio to Homer and Lila Mae Fare Robertson.

Mr. Robertson was a landscape gardener for the city of Glendale, California and retired in 1999.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed deep sea and fresh water fishing. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending games for both the Lakers and Dodgers.  He has been resident of Lynchburg since 2006.

He is survived by his sister, Judy Robertson of Chandler, Arizona and numerous cousins and other family members.

Private services are planned for the family of Mr. Robertson.

1/11/13 — Bobbye Willis Miller

Bobbye Willis Miller, age 91 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed into
Eternal Rest on January 6, 2013 at the Horizon Health Care Center with
her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Miller worked for many years with the Peoples Bank & Trust where
she was one of the first female tellers.
She was born in Coffee County, TN to her parents, the late William Blanton Willis and Dena Sain Willis.
Mrs. Bobbye was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Red” Graham Miller;
son, Harry Blanton Miller; and sisters, Anna Jean Cunningham, Nell Jernigan and Jo O’Neal Whiteaker.
She enjoyed working in the fields and feeding her cattle on her family farm  in the Thompson Hall community. She loved to cook and deliver numerous baked goods to the sick, shut-ins and people on their birthdays.
She also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Forest Heights Garden Club.
Mrs. Bobbye was awarded the Most Patriotic Citizen for faithfully displaying her flag.
Mrs. Bobbye loved to watch sports of the Tennessee Vounteers.
She served her community and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Manchester where she will be fondly remembered by the Johnson Hall Sunday School Class and the many children she attended in the nursery. Mrs. Bobbye will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, wife, aunt who instilled a good, hard work ethic and promoted always loving
and giving to others with an open heart.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Miller Reed and her husband, Cliff of Murfreesboro, TN;
nieces, Betty Bryan & family of Hillsboro, TN, Jane Michel & family of SC, and Ann Moretti & family of Manchester, TN;
nephews, Bill Cunningham & family of Lavergne, TN, Charles O’Neal & family of Murfreesboro, TN
and Bill Baker & family of Arlington, TX; special friend of the family, Greg Johnson of Tullahoma; and
a host of other relatives and friends.
VISITATION will be on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The FUNERAL SERVICE will be conducted on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Twila H.  Foster, age 91, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday,  January 8, 2013 at Manchester Funeral Home with Dr. Brenton Cox  officiating. 

Burial will follow at  Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. 

Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 Noon until time of service  at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Foster  passed away at Lynchburg Nursing Center on Sunday  morning.

Mrs. Foster was born in Harlan County,  KY, the daughter of the late Edward Washington and Mossie Brock Howard.  She was a homemaker and was a member of  First Baptist Church of Manchester.  Her hobbies included reading, gardening, quilting, playing gin rummy, and  cooking.  Her greatest love was her  family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and  great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foster  was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Howard F. Foster,  one son, Stephen A. Foster; one brother, Earl Howard; and three sisters, Mattie  Marie Payne, Bessie Eve Richmond, and Beulah Mae Hole. 

She is survived by two sons, Gary  “Brent” (Deborah Ann) Foster of Beech Grove and Howard F. Foster, II of  Winchester; three daughters, Melanie Marie Pierce of Savannah, GA, Mina Michele  Foster of Winchester, and Lauren Gabrielle Foster of Bluff City, TN; two  brothers, James Edward Howard of Shelby, OH and Edward Ray Howard of Louisville,  KY; two sisters, Birdie Bernice McKnight of Lexington, KY and Alice Faye Dodge  of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren; and six great  grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Edgar Thomas  Jacobs, age 73, of Manchester, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January  8, 2013 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Underwood  officiating. 

Burial will follow in  Gnat Hill Cemetery. 

Visitation with  the family will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, January 7 at the  funeral home. 

Mr. Jacobs passed  away on Sunday at Manchester Healthcare.

Mr. Jacobs was born in Manchester, TN,  the son of the late Ewin and Martha Jane Blackburn Jacobs. 

He owned and operated Circle J Dance  Barn, Circle J Tree Service, Jacobs Brothers LP Gas Company and Custom Frame  Shop.  He was a member of Noah  Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jacobs  was also preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Lee Jacobs; one brother, Grady  Jacobs; and one sister, Icelow Burnett.  He is survived by two daughters, Shannon Jacobs (Shane) Titus of  Lynchburg and Freida Lowery of Manchester; one brother, Billy Jacobs of  Fayetteville; one sister, Lena Green of Manchester; and two grandchildren,  Alisha Lowery and Jerri Lynn Lowery.

1/8/13 — Rasiklal B. Shukla

Rasiklal B. Shukla, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Sunday, January 6th, 2013 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma at the age of 94.

Mr. Shukla was born in India to the late Bhaishanker and Maniben Trivedi Shukla.

During his life, Mr. Shukla worked as an educator and was a retired Indian Administration Services Officer.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shukla is preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Madhukanta Shukla of Tullahoma; two sons, Dr. Sandip Shukla and his wife Kitty of Tullahoma, and Dr. Vikram Shukla and his wife Marilou of Gastonia, North Carolina; one daughter, Bakula Sheth of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Rucha and Ryan Bond, Rupa Shukla, Jay Shukla, Seema Shukla, Karna Sheth, Rushi Sheth and Deepa Sheth; and great grandchildren, Matthew, Carlyann, William and Avery Jay.

Visitation for Mr. Shukla will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.
