1/15/13 — Eva Nell Farrar Turner
Eva Nell Farrar Turner, age 91, passed away on January 10, 2013, after a long illness.
Mrs. Turner was born on March 10, 1921, in Manchester, TN, to her parents, the late Emit Farrar, Sr. and Mary Hickerson Farrar. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Turner, her brothers, John Willard Farrar and Emit Farrar, Jr., and her sisters, Salone Freeze, Stella Crouch and Mabel Jarrell.
She is survived by her daughter, Johnnie Turner, and son, Keith (Lisa) Turner, both of Manchester, TN, and a sister, Wilda Mae Harrell of Winchester, TN, along with many nieces and nephews.
Eva Nell was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Ralph Hart officiating.
Burial will be at the Shady Grove Cemetery.

1/13/13 — C.A. “Bud” McAlister, Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. C.A. “Bud” McAlister, Jr., age 87, of Manchester will be conducted Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church Manchester with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Naval Military Honors.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.
Mr. McAlister passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
He was born September 5, 1925 in Knoxville, Tennessee the son of the late Charles Abram McAlister, Sr., and Ruth Dimple Miller McAlister. Upon finishing school, Bud entered the United States Navy on December 27, 1943 and achieved the rank of Radioman Second Class. He served during WWII on the USS LSM 117 and received the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on May 10, 1946 and returned home to Knoxville where he met his soon to be bride, Mary Jane Smith. The two courted from May until October and married on October 12, 1946. In the early 1950’s the family moved to Manchester, where Bud was employed at ARO, now AEDC. He retired in 1988 after 33 years of service as Supervisor of Communications. In earlier years, Bud was instrumental in starting Little League Baseball in Manchester and served on the Manchester City School Board for over 10 years. He was the last surviving Charter Member of the Manchester Lion’s Club. Bud enjoyed riding his bicycle, bowling, working on his computer, watching UT Football and the Lady Vols and most of all spending time with is grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had a gift for woodworking having made several special items such as a cradle and quilt racks for his family. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church for 59 years. Bud will be dearly missed by all who have known him and his smile.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Jane Smith McAlister of Manchester; four daughters, Teresa Lynn McAlister Brown and husband, Leonard of Hendersonville, TN; Susan McAlister Jernigan and husband, Mike of Tullahoma, TN; Robin McAlister Shofner and husband, Jack of Manchester; and Anita McAlister Callaway and husband, Mike of St. Simons Island, GA; twelve grandchildren, Rob, Chad and Ryan Clayton, Kell Jernigan, Tracey Dimon, Kristen Fishback, Camille Hatfield, Whit Shofner, Justin Callaway, Kimberly Rodenberg, Courtney Callaway and Allie Royal; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Catherine Galyon of Knoxville, TN and a brother, Donald G. McAlister of Oak Ridge, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Memory of Bud to the First Baptist Church “Finish the Work” Building Fund Project, 1006 Hillsboro Blvd, Manchester, TN or to the Manchester Lion’s Club.

Mr. David Scott of Manchester passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Horizon Health and Rehab. He was 72.
He is survived by his son, Paul Scott of England; extended family and caregivers, Geraldine and Carmin Tomlin of Manchester.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
No visitation is planned.

1/13/13 — Willie Blanche Sellars Turner
Willie Blanche Sellars Turner, age 95 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on January 10, 2013 at the Manchester Health Care Center.
She was born in Warren County, TN to her parents, the late Oscar Sellars and Cleo Womack Sellars. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Turner; sister, Emma Lou Rainey and brothers, Clarence Sellars, Ed Sellars, Max Sellars, Ned Sellars and Ray Sellars.
Mrs. Turner was a homemaker and a a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her sons, Larry A. Turner and his wife Glenda of Manchester, TN and Terry W. Turner and his wife Suzanne of Manchester, TN; daughter, Carol T. Jennings and her husband Jerry of Freeport, FL; sister, Nell Sellars Walker; seven grandchildren, Susan Baldwin, Brian Turner, Jeff Turner, Shay Turner, Tessa Moore and Chelsey Lynn all of Manchester, TN and Josh Turner of Victoria, TX; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Charles Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

1/10/13 — William Elbert Smith
Mr. William Elbert Smith, age 97, of Lynchburg, formerly of Salem, Ilinois passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Lynchburg Nursing Center.
A native of Ridgeway, Illinois he was a son of the late William Burt Smith and Carrie Lois Grissom.
He was a delivery man for a pipeline company. He was a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church in Salem Illinois. Mr. Smith was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Salem.
Mr. Smith is survived by his son and daughter-in-law William and Phyllis Smith of Tullahoma. Grandson; Rodger (Chasidy) Smith of Mascouth, Illinois. Granddughters; Rebecca (Kenneth Bringle) Zinser of Tampa, Florida and Robin (Roland) Bruyns of Madison, Alabama. Great-Grandchildren; Colin Bruyns, Owen Bruyns, Alex Smith and Derek Smith.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Salem, Illinois with burial in Eastlawn Cemetery in Salem.

Funeral services for Mr. Luther Barbar Dotson, Jr., age 78, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. L.E. Butler officiating.
Burial will follow in Blanton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dotson passed away Wednesday evening at Medical Center of Manchester.
Mr. Dotson was born in Rossville, GA, the son of the late Luther Barbar and Frances Green Dotson, Sr.
He was retired from PCA in Manchester. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and attended the Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Ann Dotson; one son, Luther “Luke” Dotson; four brothers, Lamar, Willie, Victor, and Billy Dotson; and one sister, Barbara Barrier.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Dotson of Manchester; one brother, Jack Dotson; one sister, Betty DeVriese; four daughters, Phayon Rogers, Suzanne (Darrell) Christian, Patty (Michael) Thompson, and Tina (Jesse) Bailey, all of Manchester; one son, Joey (Brandy) Ricco of Fayetteville, TN; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Margie B. Evans, age 85, of Tullahoma, passed away Tuesday at Lynchburg Nursing Center.
She was a native of Franklin Co., TN and is the daughter of the late Clarence and Floy Baxter Evans.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the West End Baptist Church in Tullahoma and was retired from PCA in Manchester.
She is survived by two sisters, Doris Deaton and Virginia Moore both of Tullahoma.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted Friday at 1:00PM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Sharon Marie Rackler, age 72, of Tullahoma, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013, at Harton Hospital in Tullahoma, TN.
A native of Coffee County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Oren and Vada Sue Conley Scott.
Mrs. Rackler was a retired nurse at Bedford County Hospital and a member of The First Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Ed Rackler, daughter Gina Rackler, brother Mack Scott, and sisters Kathleen Owen and Dorothy Harper.
She is survived by her daughter Sharleen (Mike) Dotson of Estill Springs, sisters Mary (Doug) Robertson of Tullahoma and Jean (Wayne)Alexander of SC., brothers Richard Scott of Manchester and Coy (Bobbie) Scott of Lakeland, FL., and two grandchildren Benjamin and Megan Dotson.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, from 4PM until 8PM at Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00AM Thursday, January 10, at The First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Elbert Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

1/14/13 — STEPHEN RONALD FLETCHER
STEPHEN RONALD FLETCHER, age 69, of Shelbyville, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Fletcher was employed as a Broadcast Engineer for many years before his retirement. Mr. Fletcher was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Shelbyville.
Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by a son, James Neil Neugebauer.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Fletcher of Shelbyville, sons; Mark L. (Jennifer) Fletcher of Incerlik Air Base, Turkey, Russell T. (Lena) Neugebauer, Jr. of Montgomery, Texas, and Michael Allen Neugebauer of Dallas, Texas, daughters; Meredith (Timothy) Himes and Juliet (Shane) Bridges all of Plano, Texas and Lola Ann Taylor of Magnolia, Texas, 5-grandchildren; Aaron and Alexis Neugebauer, Laura Ann Taylor, Benjamin and Matthew Bridges.
A Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at the First Assembly of God Shelbyville with Rev. Glenn Forsee officiating.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at the Dykes Cemetery in London, Ky with military honors bestowed.
