12/21/14 —— Charlotte Parker Crowell

Funeral services for Charlotte Parker Crowell, age 90 of Manchester will be conducted Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Benny Benjamin and Brother Ray Marcrom officiating.

Interment will follow at New Beechgrove Cemetery.

Mrs. Crowell passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at her home in Manchester.

She was born September 30, 1924 in Beechgrove, Tennessee the daughter of the late Bud Lee Parker and Thelma Alice Cathey Parker.

She will always be remembered as a loving and caring person by all who knew her. In earlier years, she enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She was also an avid basketball fan.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Burrell H. Crowell, Sr., and a brother, Harold Parker.

Survivors include five children, Martha Bivens and husband, Bob of Elizabethtown, KY; Cathey Buttram and husband, Joe of Lewisburg, WV; Burrell H. Crowell, Jr., “Bud” of Manchester, TN; Lee Lynn Crowell-Payne, of Fredericksburg, VA; and Richard L. Crowell and wife, Sofia of Lake Worth, FL; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Dudley Parker of Beechgrove, TN.

12/20/14 —– Johnny B. Waller

Johnny B. Waller of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, December 19th, 2014 at NHC Tullahoma at the age of 84.

Mr. Waller was born in Tullahoma to the late Jessie and Pauline Stradley Waller.

During his life he worked as a Dispatcher with Arnold Engineering Development Center and was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Waller is preceded in death by his wife, Alma “Corky” Waller; three brothers, Carl, Glenn and Jerry Waller; and one sister, Donna Lafever.

Mr. Waller is survived by one son, Greg Waller and his wife Sharon of Tullahoma; one daughter, Janie Kelley and her husband Rick of Tullahoma; three brothers, Joe Waller and his wife Linda, Robert Waller and his wife Carolyn, and Leon Waller and his wife Sharon all of Tullahoma; one sister, Paulette Bell and her husband Elmer of Chattanooga; five grandchildren, Brandon Waller and his wife Beth of Tullahoma, Justin Kraus and his wife Jamie of Nashville, Ansley Kraus of Franklin, Evan Waller and his fiancé Brittny of Tullahoma, and Lena Stair of Franklin; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Grayson, and Hadley Kate Waller, and Miles Kraus.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th, 2014 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home with the funeral to immediately follow at 1:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. J. Herbert Hester and Bro. Elmer Bell officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.

Pallbearers will be Joe, Robert, and Leon Waller, Dr. Bruce Galbraith, and Jimmy Luttrell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rheba Phene Williams, age 82, of Normandy, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Gray officiating.

Burial will follow in Hurricane Grove Cemetery in Coffee County, TN.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Williams passed away Friday morning at Lynchburg Nursing Home.

Mrs. Williams was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Buford and Karen Wiser Banks.

She was a homemaker her entire life, and enjoyed flowers and birds. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore H. Williams; four brothers, Porter Lee, John, Bill, and Joe Banks; four sisters, Betty Lou Banks, Inez Banks Newberry, Venitta Perry, and Doris Ann Aldridge. She is survived by two sons, Billy (Peggy) Williams and Neal Williams, both of Normandy; two daughters, Joan (Billy) Tankersley and Wilma (Andy) Caldwell, both of Tullahoma; two sisters, Jackie Carter of Franklin County and Ruby Winton of Manchester; 12 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mrs. Sherri Ann Whited-Rhodes, age 51 of Petersburg, Tennessee will be conducted at 3 pm, Sunday, December 21 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Erik Gernand officiating.

Visitation with Sherri’s family will be from 1 pm until service time at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rhodes passed this life on Thursday, December 18 at the Lincoln Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Tn.

Sherri was born in Manchester, Tennessee the daughter of the late A. J. and Pat Bowden.

Sherri enjoyed shopping and traveling and was an avid collector of Longaberger Baskets. Above all, Sherri loved her grandchildren and family.

12/20/14 ——– Sam Kammara Pok

Sam Kammara Pok, age 58 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed into rest on December 16, 2014 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Mr. Pok was born in Kompongspeu, Cambodia to his parents the late Pao Pok and Heang Chhurn. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lok Pok and brother, Tous Pok.

He was the owner of the Donut Palace in Manchester for the past 19 years. He loved his family, enjoyed fishing and operating his donut business.

Mr. Pok is survived by his loving wife, Borann Monica Onn of Manchester, TN; daughters, Anita Chavez and her husband Jay of San Diego, CA and Lakkhena Richardson and her husband Matthew of Manchester, TN; sons, David Beo and his wife Phearine Beo, and Billy Beo and his wife Jenny all of Manchester, TN; sisters, Reth Bov, Thourn Pok and Ton Pok; a brother, Thann Pok; five grandchildren, Marcus Phillip Chavez, Naomi Keayn Chavez and Shyian Nicanor Chavez all of San Diego, CA and Andre Phirun Richardson and Devon Brock Richardson both of Manchester, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.

flower5Nora D. Smith, age 80 of Tullahoma passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 23 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, December 23 from 12 Noon until 2 PM.
A native of White County, TN., she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nova Angel. She was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Smith and one sister, Reba Dodson.
Mrs. Smith is survived by four sons; J R Smith and his wife, Gloria of Tullahoma, Thomas Smith of Tullahoma, Owen Smith of Hillsboro and Robert Smith of Whitville,TN; one daughter, Sally Adams and her husband, Bill; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

12/22/14 — Marion Burton Riley

Flower 12Marion Burton Riley, age 74 of Tullahoma passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma. Memorial Services will be held Monday, December 22 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Fields officiating. Visitation with the family will be Monday, December 22 from 12 PM until 2 PM.
A native of Memphis, he was the son of the late W N “Bill” and Lyda Goodwin Riley. He was a U S Navy veteran and worked for many years as a Machinist. He was a 1960 graduate of Tullahoma High School and enjoyed getting together with his classmates throughout his life. He was also a member of the Machinist Union and attended monthly breakfasts with fellow retired coworkers. He was a member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church. Mr. Riley was an artist in wood. He enjoyed making and restoring furniture. He also enjoyed working with water colors. He and his wife, Patsy were members of the Foothills Crafts Association in Manchester, where they sold many craft items. He also enjoyed collecting stamps. Mr. Riley was a “charming man who made friends wherever he went”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Damron.
In addition to his wife, Patsy Coker Riley of Tullahoma, he is survived by one son, Neil Riley of Tullahoma; one daughter, Dale Deflice and her husband, Louis of Panama City Beach, FL; one brother, Bill Riley and his wife, Ruth of Rotunda West, FL; two sisters, Carolyn Lackey and her husband, Hugh of Dallas, Texas and Rebecca McCagren of Birmingham and two grandchildren, Samuel and Maxwell Deflice.

12/20/14 — Albertine Jarrell Jenkins

flower 13Funeral services for Mrs. Albertine Jarrell Jenkins, age 95, were conducted Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Louis Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. Visitation was held Friday, December 19, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

She was born September 11, 1919 in Coffee County, TN the daughter of the late Frank and Stella Rogers Jarrell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by six brothers, Lawson, Winford, Gordon “Red”, Billy, Sanford and John Jarrell; and two sisters, Irene Freeze and Ruth Rainey.

Albertine was the second of eleven children and her job was to watch over her younger siblings. This made her a natural for her career as a dedicated teacher for 34 years. For most of those years she taught second grade in Chesterfield County, Virginia, always referring toher students as “her children”. During her career she served as the president of the Chesterfield Teachers Association and the Virginia Delegate for the National Education Association. After retirement she moved back to Coffee County where she became active in several community organizations including the Soroptimist, Chautauqua, Conservation and garden clubs, bird watchers and women’s auxiliary. She was a proud member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Albertine was a long time member of Skinquarter Baptist Church. She touched the lives of so many and will never be forgotten.

She is survived by two daughters, Alice Waggoner and husband, Bill; and Penny Hicks; five grandsons, Bart (Ann) and Brett (Kim) Hicks; Jeff, Chris and Rick (Karen) Waggoner; six great-grandchildren, Riley, Mason, Rachel and Erica Hicks and Bamboo and Indigo Waggoner; two sisters, Elizabeth Aaron and Carolyn Williams and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and loving friends.

12/14/14 —- Martha Anne Dougherty

Martha Anne Dougherty, born and raised in Harlan, Kentucky, September 16, 1914, died Sunday December 14, 2014, at the Willows of Winchester Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Nathan Sam Dougherty of Knoxville, Tennessee, father John V. Blanton and mother Susanna Middleton Blanton, and brothers Howard and Edward Blanton of Harlan, KY.

She is survived by her stepson, Sam Dougherty, Jr (Carol) of Tullahoma, TN, and stepdaughter, Carol Anne Dougherty of New Albany, IN, sister-in-law Helen Blanton of Harlan, two nieces Judy (Robert) Rhea of Harlan and Phyllis Russell of Avon Park, FL.  She is also survived by nine step-grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, three great nephews and their children.

There will be a Graveside Service with Dr. William Pender of First Presbyterian Church attending at the Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville, where she will be interred.  As yet arrangements are incomplete.

The Mayor of Tullahoma, where she resided the past year, declared Tuesday, September 16, 2014, as Martha Dougherty Day in Tullahoma, in recognition of her 100th Birthday.

She resided most of her life in Knoxville, where she worked for many years as Financial Director at Tennessee School for the Deaf.

The family gives a special thanks to Brenda Whaley, Martha’s caregiver the past year.

Mrs. Clair Belle Hill, age 89, of Tullahoma, TN., passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at NHC in Tullahoma, TN.

She was the daughter of the late Jack and Susie Felts Painter.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, country music, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter Jackie Keese, and a son Wayne Parker.

She is survived by her husband Edwin C. Hill, daughters Patricia Phipps of Tullahoma, Susan (James) Dotson of Estill Springs, sons Jack Parker of Tullahoma, Layne (Joyce) Parker of Tullahoma, Chris (Barbara) Hill of Alabama, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson, several nieces and nephews, a close family friend Billy Hendon, and special niece Shirley Coffey.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 4 PM until 9 PM in the Chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will begin at 1 PM on Sunday, December 21, 2014, in the Chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN.
