4/7/15 —- Geneva O. Crosslin

Geneva O. Crosslin, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 87.

Ms. Crosslin was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee to the late Roy Lee and Hattie Sue Swinford Beech.

During her life she worked as a machine operator with Decherd-Franklin Pants Factory and was a member of Marble Plains Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Crosslin is preceded in death by one son, Jim Arnold; four brothers, A.C., Bill, Ed, and J.C. Beech; and three sisters, Nellie King, Ann Donders, and Sue Phillips.

She is survived by two sons, Ricky Arnold and his wife Sharon of Hillsboro, and Freddy Crosslin of Tullahoma; five grandchildren, Craig, Stephanie, Jennifer, Angel, and Tommy; four great-grandchildren, Drew, Gabriel, Adriana, and Whitney; and four great-great-grandchildren, Brayden, Easton, Madison, and Paisley.

Visitation for Ms. Crosslin will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, 2015 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 1:00-3:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Hice officiating.

Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Scarlett O. Carter, age 64 of Winchester, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 1 PM to 2 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tullahoma, TN with a funeral service being conducted at 2 PM.

Interment will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park in Winchester, TN.

5/2/15 —- Jack Edward Nail

Jack Edward Nail, age 86 of Tullahoma, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2 PM at the Tullahoma 7th Day Adventist Church, 908 Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, TN. officiated by Pastor Nelson Mercado.

A native of Terre Haute, Indiana, he was the son of the late Christopher and Catherine Lucas Nail.

He graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis and began his career as a teacher. After teaching for fifteen years he began working in administration of the 7th Day Adventist Church. Mr. Nail led church youth camps throughout many states and served his church for forty years. He and his wife, Anna Mae relocated to the Tullahoma area in 1991 and served as Associate Pastor for the Tullahoma and Decherd 7th Day Adventist Churches.

While living in Maryland, he was well known for conducting Five Day Plan to stop workshops for people wishing to quit smoking.

Mr. Nail was an avid fan of the Tullahoma High School sports teams, especially basketball, football and track. He enjoyed attending practices and events and getting to know the athletes and coaches.

Mr. Nail is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Anna Mae Nail of Tullahoma; two sons, Ted Nail of Tullahoma and Jonathan Nail of St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Lynda Feldman and her husband, Rick and Jacquelyn Elliott, both of Maryland; six grandchildren, Nathan, Jacinda, Chris, Samantha, Emma and Andrew and one great grandchild, Anaya.

He is survived by his children, Adela Morales Martines, Santiago Morales Martinez, Maurilio Morales Martinez, Alexander Morales Martines all of Tullahoma, TN; and Josue Morales Velasquez of Shelbyville.

4/6/15 —- Wade W. Johnson

Funeral services for Mr. Wade W. Johnson, age 87, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Colwell officiating.

Burial will follow in Hurricane Cemetery.

Visitation with the Johnson family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 5 at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson passed away Friday morning at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Johnson was born in Coffee County, TN, the son of the late Claude and Una B. Shelton Johnson.

He was an equipment operator with the Coffee County Highway Department and a member of Hurricane Grove Baptist Church. Wade loved to work and restore gas pumps, and repair old clocks.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Herman Johnson; and one sister, Martha Ellen Gregory.

Wade is survived by two sons, Tony (Sheila) Johnson and Steve (Cheryl) Johnson, both of Manchester; one daughter, Jane (Mark) Stacy of Manchester; three grandchildren, Greg Johnson, Jennifer Henry, and Jacob Bell; and four great grandchildren, Kaine Johnson, Kani Johnson, Cahlin Henry, and Casen Henry.

4/4/15 —— Martha Sue Gilliam

Martha Sue Gilliam, of Estill Springs, passed this life on Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 at the Willows of Winchester at the age of 72.

Mrs. Gilliam was born in Coffee County to the late Henry Grady and Otsie Amos.

She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Tullahoma.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilliam is preceded in death by her husband, Lanny Gilliam; one son, Jeffrey Lynn Gilliam; one grandson, Adam Elliott; one granddaughter, Misty Elliott; one brother, Lee Roy “Bobo” Amos; and two sisters, Beverly Thrasher, and Mildred Kelnhofer.

She is survived by two sons, Nick Gilliam and his wife Darlene of Tullahoma, and Chris Gilliam and his wife Addie of Decherd; one daughter, Donna Elliott and her husband Larry of Estill Springs; two brothers, Eugene Amos, and Jack Amos and his wife Pat; two sisters, Mary Barnes and her husband Kenneth and Frances Collister; six grandchildren, Josh Gilliam, Jenny Gilliam, Cortney Gilliam, Lance Gilliam, Eric Elliott, and Jeremy Hulan; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Elliott and Fisher Hulan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 from 1:00-4:00 pm with the funeral service to immediately follow at 4:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Wall officiating.

Burial will follow at Pennington Cemetery.

4/4/15 —– JAMES LEONARD “TEASPOON” OWENS

JAMES LEONARD “TEASPOON” OWENS, age 50, of Cowan, Tenn., departed this life suddenly on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Winchester.

Mr. Owens loved playing horseshoes and going fishing. He was last employed by Tinsley Asphalt Company were he was a truck driver for several years. Mr. Owens was a loving and devoted son, father and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Leonard Owens and his brother, Randy Owens.

Mr. Owens is survived by his daughter, Madison Owens of Cowan, mother, Louise Hinshaw of Cowan, step-father, Danny Hinshaw of Cowan and special friend and companion, Melissa Smith of Cowan.

Visitation will be Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Grant Funeral Services.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Interment will follow at Owens Chapel Cemetery with co-workers and friends serving as pallbearers.

4/5/15 —— Clarence Edward “Ed” Zeigler

Funeral services For Mr. Clarence Edward “Ed” Zeigler will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 5 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Jason Brock officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fredonia Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Pete French, Clyde Scott, Wayne Brock, Lance Zeigler, Jerett Zeigler, Hayden Zeigler and Cale Winstead

Visitation with the Zeigler family will be from 5 pm until 8 pm, Saturday, April 4 at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mr. Zeigler passed this life Wednesday, April 1, 2014 at the St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Zeigler was born in Columbus, Indiana the son of the late Glen and Lillie Mae Perkins Ziegler.

He was a US Air Force veteran serving in Japan. He was retired from AEDC where he worked many years as a Hardware Technician. He was of the Baptist faith.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and also by a brother, Robert “Bob” Zeigler.

He is survived by:

4/4/15 —– Mary Katherine “Kathy” Uselton

Mary Katherine "Kathy" Uselton, age 64 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee,
passed away on April 1, 2015 at the St. Thomas-Rutherford Hospital in
Murfreesboro. 

She retired from General Electric, Inc. and was a member of
the Rutherford County Historical Society. She was an avid reader, enjoyed
painting, crocheting and word puzzles, but most of all, she enjoyed her
children and grandchildren.  

Mrs. Uselton was preceded in death by her parents, the late Harry Lee Perry 
and Marie Mayton Perry; sister, MarthaPerry Holder and three brothers, 
Bobby Perry, Billy Perry and  Wayne Perry. 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Bart Uselton
of Murfreesboro; daughters, Jeanette Harrell (Joseph) of Murfreesboro and
Lisa Fortner (Clet) of Murfreesboro; sister, Betty Shelton of Manchester,
TN; brother, Jack Perry of Wartrace, TN; three grandchildren, Cassandra
Harrell, Gracie Fortner and C.J. Fortner, Jr.; and a host of other
relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. 

The Funeral Service will follow on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Central. 

Burial will be at the Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to: the Library of your 
choice in Kathy's memory; the Alive Hospice of Nashville; or the Sarah Cannon
Cancer Research Center in Nashville.
