2/10/16 — E.C. Ferguson

fergusonMr. E.C. Ferguson, age 91 of Madison, Tennessee passed
from this life on Monday, February 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving
family. Mr. Ferguson was preceded in
death by his parents, Estill and Clemmie Huffman Ferguson, one sister, Vera
Elbaum, and one brother Charles Austin Ferguson.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years,
Josephine “Jo” Ferguson of Madison, Tennessee, one daughter, Drena Melvin
and
husband Jim of Lutz, Florida, one sister, Dr. Judy Worthington of
Manchester,
Tennessee, and three grandchildren, Lindsay McReynolds and husband Rhyan of
Cookeville, Tennessee, Eric Pride and wife Mary Gill of Nashville,
Tennessee, and
Seth Pride of Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Trinity United
Methodist Church in Nashville, Tennessee for over sixty years. He was an
avid hunter and fisherman. He loved and treasured his grandchildren who
affectionately called him Papaw. His
faith and his family were his life. He
will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services for Mr. E.C. Ferguson will be
conducted on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Coffee County
Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee with Brother TJ Bennett
officiating. Burial
will follow in Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery, Coffee County, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday,
February 10, 2016 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral
Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.

2/20/16 — Kevin Stuart Davis

flower 21Mr. Kevin Stuart Davis, age 51 of Manchester,
Tennessee passed from this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Mr.
Davis was preceded in death by his father
Grady Davis.

He is survived by his mother, Kathryn Davis of
Manchester, Tennessee, one sister, Debra Swigart and husband Jim of
Illinois,
and two brothers, Michael Davis of Illinois and Randall Davis.

Kevin worked for Builder’s Supply Company in Manchester
for nearly thirty years. He also worked
for the Rounds family at the Tullahoma airport refurbishing aircraft
which he
had a passion for and enjoyed working with the Rounds family. He was an
avid hunter, a gun enthusiast, and
a great handyman. Mr. Davis was said to
lend a helping hand to anyone who ask and loved doing it. He will be
dearly missed by all who knew him
and loved him.

roweMother Betty Jo Rowe, 83, of Decherd passed February 7, 2016 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude Mosley.

She was preceded in death by husband, William D. Rowe.

She leaves to cherish her memories eight children:

Daughters- Deborah (James) Stovall, Donna Stovall, Delilah (Tony) Hill, Iris (John) Patton, Willie Jo (Greg) Taylor.

Sons- George (Gloria) Rowe of Shelbyville, TN, Kenneth Rowe and Dwight (Patricia) Rowe.

Sister- Annie Jean Peacock of Shelbyville, TN

Brother- Leslie Bruce Mosley of Hartford, Connecticut

griswoldFuneral services for Mrs. Bonnie Pearl Griswold, age 86 of Manchester
will be conducted at 1:00pm, Wednesday, February 10 at the Manchester
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Barron officiating. Burial will
follow in the Manchester City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am,
Wednesday until service time at Manchester Funeral Home. Mrs. Griswold
passed this life Sunday at the Horizon Health & Rehab center in
Manchester.

Bonnie was born in Manchester, Tennessee the daughter of the late John
Comer Yates and Hester Brown Yates. She was a homemaker, a cat lover and
an absolute fan of Alan Jackson. Bonnie was a lifelong member of the
Manchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church, who the family wishes to thank
for all of the love and support shown to Bonnie over the years. She
loved her church and her church loved her. In addition to her parents,
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Griswold who died in
1990, by 10 siblings, Freeman Yates, John Ewell Yates, J.P. Yates, Huey
Yates, Vernon Yates, General Lee Yates, Ruby Wilson, Robbie McBride, Zada
Corn and Elizabeth Taylor. She is survived by:

One sister- Marjorie Lumpkin of Churchill, Tennessee
Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cemetery in Normandy. Mr. Shelton passed this life Sunday, February 7,
2016 at the Horizon Health & Rehab center in Manchester.

Mr. Shelton was born in Manchester, Tennessee the son of the late
Sterling and Argie Hall Shelton. He was for many years the Golf Pro at
Old Stone Fort Golf Course and formerly attended the Riley Creek Baptist
Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his
wife, Mrs. Martha Ann Holder Shelton, and by a brother, Mr. Wayne
Shelton. His survivors are:

flower 13MARY ANN LASATER was born March 20. 1920 in Greenville, Alabama and
passed February 6, 2016 at the Manchester Health Care Center. She
was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ben B. Lasater;
parents, George W. and Anna Laura Wade Fail; and siblings, Georgia
(Hugh) Fails Carr, Wade Fails, Herman (Edie) Fails and Renford
(Millicent) Fails. She is survived son, G. Benson (Kay) Lasater of
Hendersonville, Tennessee; two daughters, Betty J. (Aaron) Jones
and Nancy A. (Grady) by her sister, Julie B. (Kenneth) Fails
Johnson of Monroeville, Alabama. Ms. Lasater grew up in Greenville,
Alabama, graduating from Greenville High School. After graduating
in Greenville, she later moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she worked
at Merck, Sharpe and Dohme Corporation, a pharmaceutical company
for 6 years. While in Atlanta, she met Ben Burton Lasater of
Hillsboro, Tennessee. They married in Jasper, Florida on February
27, 1940. Mr. Lasater was subsequently sent overseas during WW II
and Mrs. Lasater moved to Hillsboro, Tennessee, living with his
parents, Burton and Maude Farrar Lasater.
Ms. Lasater set up a kindergarden class in her home, where she
taught for 10 years. In 1971, Ms. Lasater began work at the
Hillsboro Post Office, where she later became the Post Master for
26 years. She belonged to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and
was active in many community activities including the Coffee County
Fair Board and the Coffee County Farm Bureau.

flower 11Charles “Tommy” Nelson, age 59 of Tullahoma, passed away suddenly Friday February 5, 2016 at Harton Regional Medical Center. Tommy loved to spend time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He enjoyed UT football, nascar and his Tuesday night bowling league and was a proud member of the Local 6817 United Steelworkers Union.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jake and Genny Nelson; two sisters Sherrie Brawley and Sue Nelson; brother Kevin Nelson. He is survived by his daughter Michelle McCormick and husband Jeremy; son Phillip Nelson; Brother Ronnie Nelson and wife Melinda; four grandchildren Kevin Sweeten, Katelyn Sweeten, Ryan Sweeten and Kevan McCormick; one nephew Jason Rackley; two nieces Lacey Burns and husband Joey and Rebecca Nelson; Several great nieces and nephews, many special friends and his faithful dog Maddie.
The family will receive friends Sunday February 7, 2016 from four o’clock pm until eight o’clock pm at Tullahoma Funeral Home. flower 23Betty E. Melton, age 79 of Manchester, Tennessee passed away, Friday,
February 5, 2016 at Unity Medical Center. Graveside Services are scheduled
for Wednesday, February 10 at 12 PM at Farrar Hill Cemetery.

A native of Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William Floyd and Hannah
Davis Hottinger. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers,
Walter and Ray Hottinger.

Mrs. Melton is survived by her husband, David L. Melton of Manchester; four
sons, David A. Melton of Manchester, Bobby Bentley and Johnny Bentley, both
of Florida and Walter Alan Bentley of Lexington, TN; four daughters, Sandra
Melton of Manchester, Sharon Swyer and her husband, Ben of Watertown, TN,
Sherry Bentley and Shirley Rainard and her husband, William, both of
Florida; one brother, Richard Hottinger of Florida; one sister, Emma Mae
Cochran of Ohio; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

cliftonMr. Leslie Wilson Clifton, age 95 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away
Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Life Care Center. Funeral Services will
be held Sunday, February 7 at 2 PM at the Grundy Street Church of Christ,
301 E. Grundy St, Tullahoma with Jeff Archey officiating. Burial will
follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be
Sunday, February 7 from 12 PM until service time.

Mr. Clifton, a native of Dickson, was the son of the late Jesse Josiah and
Lillie Catherine Cline Clifton. He was a WW II Veteran serving in the U S
Army. After returning from the service, Mr. Clifton met his future wife,
Dimple Virginia Hughey and they were married in December, 1946. The couple
relocated to Tullahoma in February, 1947 due to his work with the railroad.
Mr. Clifton worked as an Assistant Communications Maintainer with CSX
Railroad and retired after 41 years. Mr. Clifton was a member of Grundy
Street Church of Christ and served as a Deacon and Elder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, four
sisters and one grandchild, Jeff Muehlhauser.

Mr. Clifton is survived by his wife, Dimple Virginia Hughey Clifton of
Tullahoma; two daughters, Sue Muehlhauser and her husband, Joel of
Manchester and Rebecca Rayburn and her husband, Tim of Waukesha, WI; four
grandchildren, Emmely Duncan and her husband, Michael of Franklin, Eric
Muehlhauser and his wife, Jamie of Hinsdale, IL, Ashley Bennett and her
husband, Joshua of Martinez, GA and Andrew Rayburn and his wife, Lerryn of
Waukesha, WI and three great grandchildren, Caroline Duncan and Taylor and
Tenley Muehlhauser.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the
Grundy Street Church of Christ, 301 E. Grundy St, Tullahoma, TN 37388 or
the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr., Suite 6, Chattanooga,
TN 37421.

Point, Harriet Moore and the staff at Senior Advantage in Winchester and
the staff at the Life Care Center in Tullahoma for their loving care and

paynePayne, Glenis Nelson, of Tullahoma passed this life on Wednesday,
February 3rd, 2016 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 79.
Mr. Payne was born in Franklin Co. to the late James W. and Reba Linda
Floyd Payne. During his life Mr. Payne worked as a carpenter for C&H
Commercial, was a self-employed cabinet maker, and was a Freemason. In
addition to his parents, Mr. Payne is preceded in death by two sons,
Nelson Payne and Johnny Short; one daughter, Sylvia Maxwell; three
brothers, Bill, Marlin, and James Payne; and one granddaughter, Stephanie
Short. He is survived by his wife Opal Boyd Payne of Tullahoma; one
daughter, Sarah Williams of Pisgah, AL; one son, Wayne Short of
Tullahoma; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Payne will be held on Friday, February 5th, 2016 from
5:00-8:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services with Masonic Rites
will take place Saturday, February 6th, 2016 at 11:00am in the Kilgore
Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in
Tullahoma.
