03/04/16-Millie Wilburn Evans

Millie Wilburn Evans died Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Mrs. Evans was a native of
Toney, AL
and daughter of the late Floyd and Ida Brown Wilburn. She was also
preceded in
death by brothers, Woodrow and Jesse Lee Wilburn, and sisters, Muriel
Patrick
and Pat Miller.

Funeral
services will be Friday at 12:00noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dexter
Landers will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation
will
be Friday from 11:00am until 12:00noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Mrs.
Evans is survived by her husband, Al Evans, and nieces and nephews.

She
was a member of First United Methodist Church and along with her husband
were
owners of Murfreesboro Insurance Agency before their retirement. Mrs.
Evans was
former chief of civilian payroll at Sewart Air Force Base. She was
co-founder
and past president and board chairman of the Beesley Foundation. Mrs.
Evans was
known as a lover and promoter of animal welfare. She was an avid golfer and
former champion of the Senior Ladies’ Golf Association at Stones River
Country
Club.

Family
and friends will serve as pall bearers.

03/09/16-Judith Gilliam

Judith Gilliam, age 69 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Monday,
February 29, 2016 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. Memorial Services are
scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 7 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 5 PM until service
time.

A native of Sand Mountain, AL, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and
Dorsey Lybrand. Mrs. Gilliam attended Grace Baptist Church and was the
manager of Hancock’s Fabric Store in Tullahoma. She loved traveling and
enjoyed visiting the casinos in Tunica and Las Vegas. She also enjoyed
sewing and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Linda
Houston.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Gilliam of Tullahoma; one daughter,
Carmen Gilliam of Tullahoma; one brother, John Lybrand and his wife, Linda
of Ft. Payne, AL and one sister, Loretta Pope of Sand Mountain, AL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor
to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN
37421.

Preceded in death by her parents, Frank Wesley Munger, Sr. and Patricia Ann Spencer Munger; husband, Carroll Ray Lovedy, Sr.; brother, Frank Wesley Munger, Jr. Survived by her son, Charles Robert Agnew, Manchester, TN; daughters, Kirsten Marie Bradshaw (Randall) of Murfreesboro, TN, Victoria Lynn Miller (Hal) of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, John Wesley Munger; grandchildren, Danielle (Kaleb), Bob, Sarah, Makya; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Ayden, Stella, Rex.

February 28, 2016 at the Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. Mr.
Brown retired from RockTenn and was member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church
in Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by his wives and Carolyn Sue
Mitzelfelt and Mary Ezele Stacy; son Paul Auther Brown; sister, Alene
Vanattia; brothers, Julian Brown, L.D. Brown, Franklin Brown, Jack Brown and
John Brown. He is survived by his daughters, Dorene S. Banks and her husband
Randy of Manchester, Tenn. And Peggy J. Banks and her husband Cleve of
Manchester, Tenn. Two sisters, Lillie Bell Pearson and Daisy Faye Brown;
five grandchildren, Regina Hickerson (Lance), Jimmy Banks (Anita), Christy
Moon (Josh), Clay Burks and Carolyn Lusk. (Nathan); Eleven
great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Mrs. Bettye Sue Hickerson Adams made her peaceful transition at Bethany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Bettye was proceeded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Zenoch G. Adams. She is survived by two devoted daughters, Bridget (John) Lane of Nashville and Dr. Phyllis D. Adams of Manchester; two granddaughters, Trellaney Lane and Kayla (Dr. Darwin) Mason, Jr.; one great granddaughter, Deryn Lyric Mason and one great grandson, Darwin Levi Mason, III; all of Nashville; sister, Lorene McReynolds of Manchester; one special Goddaughter, Tina (Ben) Chamberlain of Nashville; four special Godsons, Sylvester White of Florence, Alabama, James (Connie) Dale; Wayne (Jackie) Dale and Thaddeus Frazier, all of Nashville; one brother-in-law, Timothy (Louise) Adams, Sr. of Covington, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Adams of California; a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bettye was a native of Manchester and returned home often and held fond memories of her beloved hometown. She attended Tennessee State University and continued to be a proud TSU ALUM. At TSU she met and married the love of her life, Zenoch. Bettye retired from the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System; was a faithful member of Schrader Lane Church of Christ; and was happiest and most fulfilled spending time with her Beloved Family. For the past 3 1/2 years Bettye received excellent, loving care from the staff at Bethany Health and Rehabilitation Center; they truly became a special part of her extended family. Public viewing will be held at the Manchester Funeral Home from 6-8PM on Saturday, March 5. On Sunday, March 6 there will be a visitation from 1-1:30PM at Schrader Lane Church of Christ, 1234 Schrader Lane, Nashville and the Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30PM. Brother Robert Gardenhire is the eulogist. Interment will be at Cypress Memorial Garden in Manchester on March 6.

flower vase 3Funeral services for Mr. Danny Lee Jenkins, age 64, of Hillsboro, will be
conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Hillsboro Cumberland
Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Wright officiating. Burial will
follow in Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will
be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at Manchester Funeral
Home and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of service at the
church. Danny passed away Monday morning at Erlanger Medical Center in
Chattanooga, TN.

Danny was born in Tullahoma, TN, the son of the late Robert Lee and
Geneve Marcrom Jenkins. Over the years, Danny worked at the County
Highway Department, Brothers Implement, for Roy Bryan, and was a school
bus driver for Coffee County Schools for 29 years.

Danny is survived by one sister, Rebecca Jenkins Clay of Hillsboro;
niece, Amber (Sam) Davidson; nephew, Christopher (Erin) Clay; cousins,
Billy Brown Jenkins, Rita and Kathy Jenkins, Sherry Nippers, Beth
Marchesoni, Debbie McCullough, Roberta Carroll, and Wilson and Thomas
Sewell; and his faithful and trusted companion, Hobo.

3/1/16 — Jimmy Wayne Holt

flower 17Mr. Jimmy Wayne Holt of Manchester passed away at Unity Medical Center in Manchester on Feb. 27, 2016 at the age of 56. Mr. Holt was born in Jefferson Parrish, LA to the late Hollis and Camille Reed Holt on Aug. 19, 1959.
An Air Force veteran, at one time Mr. Holt was employed at Batesville Casket Company in Manchester. He loved all things historical, enjoying reading and watching past events of the world, especially WWII. He also loved waterfalls, Thomas Kincaid and the Smoky Mountains.
He is survived by his wife Betty Kay Holt of Manchester and daughters Nicole (Marcus) Rayas of Manchester; Sonya (Randle) Wiser of Shelbyville; Jessica (Jose) Hernandez of McMinnville and Cassie (Guero) Jarquin-perze of Tullahoma.
Also surviving are brothers Terry (Kim) Holt and Douglas Holt both of Manchester.
Visitation with family members will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

2/28/16 — Bertha Louise Sullivan

sullivanBertha Louise Sullivan passed from this life on February 27, 2016 at Lifecare of Tullahoma at the age of 84. She was born February 26, 1932 in Winona, MS as the sixth of ten children born to Frank Lloyd Bennett and Mary Lena (Costilow) Bennett.

She was married for 51 years to the late James Sullivan and was the mother of three daughters: Frances (Tom Jr.) Gillard of Tullahoma; Amy Scott of West Plains, MO; and Betty Sullivan of Pasadena, TX. She was beloved grandmother to Corey (Nicole) Gillard of Brentwood, TN; Jeremy (Lindsay) Gillard of Murfreesboro, TN; Shannon (Jennifer) Sullivan of Georgetown, KY; Michael (Cathy) Brownell of Harrison, AR; Christie Brownell and TJ Brownell of Oklahoma. She also had 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Elizabeth VanStory, Morris Bennett, Frankie Mae Campbell, Howard Bennett, Bobbie Ware, and Shirley Thompson. She is survived by siblings Ruby McCammon, James Bennett, and Jimmy Bennett.

Louise grew up in Winona and after marrying James, they moved their young daughters to Memphis, TN, where she cared for her family as a stay-at-home Mom and wife. She enjoyed helping with a family vegetable garden and loved all kinds of flowers. She was a talented seamstress and made most of her daughters’ clothes.

After moving to Tullahoma in 1988, she loved being the after school caretaker for her grandsons, Corey and Jeremy. She became active in the Coffee County Senior Citizen Center where she enjoyed ceramics, quilting, and socializing with friends. Later, due to health issues, she resided at Lifecare where she created a whole new set of treasured friends. She will be deeply missed by all.

Services were held on Sunday, February 28, at Tullahoma Funeral Home followed by interment at her final resting place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

2/29/16 — Donnie Edward Wilhoit

wilhoitDonnie Edward Wilhoit, age 76 of Tullahoma, passed away Friday February 26, 2016 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Donnie was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he was a very patient man who loved his church and his church family. He was the owner of Tullahoma Welding from 1964 until 2012, and no matter where he went Donnie always seemed to find someone he knew to talk with.

Donnie is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Myrtle Wilhoit and his brother Tommy Wilhoit.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years JoAnne Wilhoit; daughter Kimberly Scott and son-in-law Jamie Scott; Son William Wilhoit and fiance’ Mona Smith; Grandchildren Madelyn Scott, Jarreth Franks, Mary Hannah Scott, Everum Scott, Wesley Scott, Christina Wilhoit, Donnie Wilhoit, Kayla Wilhoit, Katrina Wilhoit, Mariah Brown and Cheyenne Brown Wilhoit; 7 Great Grand Children; sisters Margaret Prince, Betty Nicoles; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday February 28, 2016 from five O’clock in the evening until eight O’clock in the evening at Tullahoma Funeral Home. There will be a Funeral Service held Monday February 29, 2016 at one O’clock in the afternoon at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Rolen officiating. Interment will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
