5/12/16 — Ronald Nelson

flower 16On May 10th, 2016 Ronald Dean Nelson age 50, of Tullahoma entered into rest surrounded by his loving family in his home. Ronald was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a very kind heart for every person that he met and once you met him he would forever remain in your heart. Ronald had many passions but some of his favorites were Nascar, TN Football and his Trucks.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jake and Genny Nelson (Braswell); Brothers Kevin and Tom Nelson; Sisters Sherrie Brawley and Sue Nelson. He survived by his loving wife of 29 years Linda Nelson; Children Jason Rackley, Lacey Burns (Joey) and Rebecca Nelson; 9 Grandchildren; Several Special Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 from Five O’clock in evening to Eight O’clock in the evening at Tullahoma Funeral Home in Tullahoma, TN. The Services will be held in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 12th, 2016 at Eleven O’clock in the morning with interment to follow to Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN.

5/11/16 — Quentin Orion Rorer

flower 13Quentin Orion Rorer, age 17, of Pelham, Tn. passed away Saturday May 7, 2016. He was a junior at Grundy County High School, he loved Kayaking and fishing. Preceding him in death was his paternal grand parents Charles and Dorothy Rorer; Great Grandparents Blue Hamby, Lonnie Layne, L.D. and Elleanor, Mr. and Mrs. Suiter.

Survivors include, Parents Charles and Amber Layne Rorer; brother Ethan Rorer and his girl friend, Summer Caldwell; special aunt, Dava Roberts; grandparents Peggy (Ernest Michael) Burnett, David “Rocky” Layne and Maria Lyra Mula Cabrera; great grandparents JoAnn Hamby and Earlene Layne; countless cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with J.T. Steele officiating. Burial will be in Monteagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 to 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

5/11/16 — Billy W. Pursley

pursleyBilly W. Pursley of Tullahoma passed this life on Sunday, May 8th,
2016 at Tennova Healthcare Harton at the age of 79. Mr. Pursley was born
in Elora, Tennessee to the late Herbert James and Eunice Teal Pursely. He
served his country in the United States Army during Korea and then went
on to become the Owner of B & C Jiffy Oil. Mr. Pursley attended Westside
Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing with his
dog Sandy, and singing in church as well as karaoke. He was also a school
bus driver for Coffee County School Systems and Franklin County
Transportation. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pursley was preceded in
death by three sisters, Patricia Sowash, Marilyn McKay, and Niel Pursley;
and his first wife, Wanda Pursley. He is survived by his wife, Minnie
Pursley of Tullahoma; eight children, Angela Ambrose and her husband Lee
of Lynchburg, Ceacle Pursley of Tullahoma, Kim May of Indiana, Darlene
McBee and her husband Bobby of Tullahoma, Dennis Morris and his wife
Angie of Tullahoma, Bessie Everhart and her husband Ricky of Normandy,
Lisa Jensen and her husband Tim of Lynchburg, and Steve Morris and his
wife Michelle of Tullahoma; one brother, Jimmy Pursley of Tullahoma; one
sister, Betty Warren of Lincoln County; 22 grandchildren; and 23
great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Pursley will be held on Tuesday,
May 10th, 2016 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services
will be held on Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Kilgore
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby McBee and Rev. Ricky Everhart
officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Coffee County.

5/14/16 — Hazel Forrester

forresterHazel Catherine Forrester of Manchester, Tennessee, passed this life on
Sunday, May 8th, 2016 at her residence at the age of 91. Mrs. Forrester
was born in Damascus, Virginia to the late Rufus and Pearl Osborne
Pruitt. She was a retired minister with the Independent Assemblies of God
and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Tullahoma. In addition
to her parents, Mrs. Forrester was preceded in death by her husband,
Charles Hobert Forrester Sr.; one daughter, Catherine Sparks; one son,
Timothy Forrester; five brothers, Herbert Pruitt, Russell Pruitt, Harold
Pruitt, Conley Pruitt, and Preston Pruitt; and three sisters, Louisa Poe,
Edith Royston, and Edna Dennison. She is survived by three sons, Ronald
Forrester, Sr. and his wife Margaret Ann of Manchester, Charles
Forrester, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Newport News, Virginia, and Donnie
Forrester and his wife Carlotta of Bedford, Virginia; one daughter, Linda
Granger and her husband Bernard of Bluff City, Tennessee; 12
grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren,; and seven great-great
grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Forrester will be held on Friday, May
13th, 2016 at the First Assembly of God in Tullahoma from 4:00-6:00pm
with the funeral service to immediately follow at 6:00pm with Rev. Bertha
Rogers, Raleigh Hayden, and Charles Dennison officiating. Burial will be
on Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at 3:00pm EST, at Sunset Memorial Park in
Damascus, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Chucky Forrester, David
Forrester, Gary Forrester, Glenn Granger, Robert Granger, Tim Forrester,
and Aaron Forrester.

Agnes Mae Millner Felkner

flower 24Mrs. Agnes Mae Millner Felkner, 88, a resident of Morrison, TN passed away on May 7, 2016 at the Manchester Health Care Center.
She was the daughter of the late William and Annie Monroe Millner.
Mrs. Felkner was an avid reader, loved animals, especially the goats she raised over the years.
She is survived by her son Troy (Paula) Moore of San Diego, Calif and her daughter Shirley (William) Lacko of Aurora, ILL. One brother, Bruce Millner and sister Maizie Paul also survive along with five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
No services are scheduled.

5/10/16 — Wendell Loland McArthur

mcarthurMr. Wendell Loland McArthur, 90, of Manchester, TN passed away on May 7, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare in Tullahoma, TN.
Mr. McArthur was born on June 15, 1925 to the late Joel Price and Alma Lee Bryom McArthur.
Mr. McArthur proudly served his country as a Merchant Marine. A carpenter by trade, he worked for several years at Bowater’s Paper Mill. He loved to farm and work timber.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Elise Troup and brother Gifford McArthur.
He is survived by daughters Patricia Bennett of Tullahoma and Janie Howard of Lynchburg. Surviving sons include Loland W. McArthur of Tullahoma; Phillip (Karen) McArthur of Manchester and Randall McArthur of Moore County. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tony Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek United Methodist Cemetery.

5/9/16 — Ruby Branch Bratten

brattenRuby Branch Bratten, age 92, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Southern Tenn. Regional Health System Winchester, following an extended illness. Ms. Bratten was born on June 13, 1923, in Winchester to the late Felix and Annie Woosley Branch. She is a member of the Hoover’s Grove Church of Christ in Moore County, Tenn. Before her retirement, Ms. Branch was employed for many years at Lanier Clothing in Decherd and after that at Tyson in Shelbyville. She loved to cook and talk on the telephone. Most of all she was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Bratten was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel Bratten, son, Phillip Bratten and granddaughter-in-law, Christy Bratten, great-granddaughter, Ruby Grace Gamble. She is survived by her son, Charles Bratten and his wife, Liz, Grandson, John Phillip Bratten, all of Tullahoma, granddaughters; Jenny Gamble and husband Adam of Murfreesboro, Jennifer Page and husband Troy of Winchester, three great-grandchildren; Sara Bean, Noah Bean and Matthew Gamble. Daughter-in-law, Sharon Darnell and husband, Larry of Tullahoma.

Visitation for Ms. Bratten will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday, May 8, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 9, also in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Ms. Bratten will be laid to rest by her husband, Lemuel at the Franklin Cemetery in Broadview.

Nadyne E. Simmonds

flower 23Nadyne E. Simmonds, age 85, of Tullahoma passed this life on Wednesday, May
4, 2016 at her residence. No services are scheduled.

Mrs. Simmonds, a native of Chebanse, IL, was the daughter of the late Cecil
and Emily Stark Vickery. She enjoyed being outdoors, working in her
gardens, hiking and traveling. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to her parent, she was preceded in death by one son, Danny
Maxwell; two daughters, Peggy Maxwell and Cindy Kline; one brother, Dennis
Vickery; one sister, Iris Yost and three grandchildren, Amanda Maxwell and
Bradley and David Kline.

She is survived by her husband, Percy Simmonds of Manchester; two sons,
Dale Maxwell and his wife, Bonnie of Tullahoma and Floyd Maxwell of
Tullahoma; one daughter, Emily Parkison of Lafayette, GA; three
half-brothers, Jerry Vickery of TN, Gary Vickery of FL and David Berns,
IL; one half sister, Judy Frainey and her husband, William of Atlanta and
seven grandchildren.

flower 18Rena Elizabeth Fowler, age 70, of Tullahoma passed this life on Wednesday,
May 4, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Memorial Services
are scheduled for Monday, May 9, 2016 at 1 PM at the Wesley Heights United
Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Fields officiating.

Mrs. Fowler, a native of Bremerton, WA, was the daughter of the late Ramsey
and Genevieve Hutcheson Batts. She was a member of Wesley Heights United
Methodist Church and enjoyed participating in church activities such as the
Craft Club. Her hobbies included crocheting, bowling and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death one brother, Dan
Baker.

She is survived by one daughter, Sonya Kay Fowler of Tullahoma; two
granddaughters, Tara Danielle Fowler of Memphis and Erin Michelle Raines of
Tullahoma; three great grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Van
Baker and his wife, Jane of Havana, FL and Sam Batts and his wife, Lou Ann
of Burleson, TX and one sister, Tishey Hughes and her husband, David of
Arlington, TX.
