1/4/17 — Frank Shelton Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Frank Shelton Jones, age 88 of Manchester, will be conducted on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel at Manchester Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Jones was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. Frank was originally from Sampson County, North Carolina and he lived in Manchester for 33 years after moving from Merritt Island, Florida. He was a United States Air Force Veteran where he retired as Chief Master Sergeant. In addition to retiring from the Air Force, he also retired from AEDC. Frank enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was a very talented painter that specialized in landscapes done in oils and acrylics.

Preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Jones; his loving wife, Bobbie Jones; brothers, James Edwin Jones, Joel Jones, Donald Jones; sister, Willie Marjorie Wilkerson. Survived by his children, Brenda Lowe (Steve) of Marietta, GA, Virginia Orr (Bill) of Franklin, Wisconsin, Shelton Jones (Carol) of Orlando, Florida, Kimesa Jones of St. Mary’s, Georgia; grandchildren, Justin Lowe, Whitney Barr (Ryan), Rebecca Brack (Tim), Jessica Orr, Reuben Orr, Nathan Orr (Arlene), Lindsey Vidaurrazaga (Piero), Erin Anderson (James), Kaitlyn Jones, Alex Pietzsch, Sean Pietzsch, Dylan Pietzsch; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilburn Jones (Dorothy) of Clinton, North Carolina, Bernard Jones (Phyllis) of Clinton, North Carolina; sister, Geraldine Campbell of Richardson, Texas.

1/3/17 — Mattie Louise Harrell Vandygriff

Mrs. Mattie Louise Harrell Vandygriff age 86 of Summitville Road passed away Saturday December 31, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Clinton and Annie Pearl Brown Harrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband Logan Charles “L.C.” Vandygriff and a brother; Bud Harrell.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Manchester Funeral. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Manchester Funeral Home with Brother Tom Watkins officiating with burial following at Summitville Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Vandygriff loved to watch and feed her birds. She is survived by her son; Ricky (Donna) Vandygriff, daughter; Patricia Stotts, two grandchildren; Braeden and Joshua. She is also survived by brothers; T.C. Harrell, Charlie (Minnie) Harrell, Cliff Harrell, Dick (Helen) Harrell, John Harrell, sisters; Lorene Rackley, Della Cooper, Elizabeth Kennedy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. James Albert Petty, age 79 of Manchester, will be conducted on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Manchester Funeral Home with Reverend Dana Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 12:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. Mr. Petty passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016.

Mr. Petty was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He enjoyed working on cars, working in the yard and he loved the outdoors. He was an avid University of Tennessee and Dallas Cowboy football fan.

Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Petty, Sr. and Fannie Rainey Mayberry; brother, Floyd Petty, Jr. Survived by his wife of 41 years, Harriet Diane Petty; son, Jason Petty (Hope), John David Toliver (Mary); grandchildren, James Petty, Loralei Petty, Kali Conner (Andrew), Krysten Reynolds (Kirk), Kami Toliver, Kaiti Gevedon; great grandchildren, Kylan Conner, Landry Gevedon; sister-in-law, Rachel Petty; several nieces and nephews.

1/5/17 — Clarence “Joe” Henry, Jr.

Clarence “Joe” Henry Jr, a resident of Tullahoma, TN passed away on
Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Life Care Center in Tullahoma at the age
of 69 years. Memorial Services are scheduled for Thursday, January 5, 2017
at 4 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 2
PM until the service time.

A native of Knoxville, he was the son of the late Clarence Joseph Henry Sr.
and the late JoAnn Harris Henry. He graduated from Tullahoma High School
in 1965 and was a member of the Tullahoma Wildcat Football Team. He was an
Eagle Scout and later was active with the Boy Scouts serving as troop
leader. He was a U S Air Force veteran and was manager and founder of
Peahead Productions. He also was the bar manager at London’s. He was a
member of the United Methodist Church and was very active with the
Tullahoma School System. He was involved with the Creating Educational
Opportunities program. He was also a member of the American Legion and was
very active in the Big Brothers Program. He also enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Martha
Ann Shallenberg.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jackie Martin Henry of Tullahoma; two sons, C
J Henry of Tullahoma and Brian Henry and his wife, Tamarra of Tullahoma;
grandchildren, Paul and Jaden Henry; sister-in-law- Bunny Clifton and her
husband, Billy of Virginia and two nieces.

The family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Tullahoma for their
compassionate support and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and family make a
donation in his name to a charity of their choice.

1/2/17 — Irene Dean Uselton

Graveside services for Ms. Irene Dean Uselton, age 96, of Hillsboro, TN, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Hillsboro Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 11:00-12:30 PM at Manchester Funeral Home. Ms. Uselton passed away at her residence surrounded by her loved ones on December 30, 2016.

Irene was born in Estill Springs, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Charles Dean and Nancy Tuck Dean. She worked as a homemaker for most of her life. Ms. Uselton was an active member of The Cross Roads Baptist Church of Estill Springs, Tennessee. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Uselton is preceded in death by her husband, James “Jack” Uselton; brother, Dan Dean; two sisters, Audrey Boguski and Mary Wimcon and son-in-law Tony Ashby. She is survived by her brother, Willie Dean of Texas; sister, Georgie (Bobby) Reed of Manchester; four daughters, Mary (Howard) Tennison of Kentucky, Mildred Ashby of Estill Springs, Linda Hill (John Steioff) of Normandy, and Patsy (Ronnie) Speck of Murfreesboro; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Lee, Nancy Lasly, Barbara Rogers, Sandra Davis, Tina Hoots, Michael Hill, Robin Cobb, Lori Lynn, and Glenn Finney; nine great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren.

1/1/17 — Dorothy J. Luna

Dorothy J Luna, a longtime resident of Tullahoma, passed away Thursday,
December 29, 2016 at Horizon Health and Rehab in Manchester at the age of
76 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for Sunday, January 1, 2016 at 2
PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Hill
officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery. Visitation with the
family will be Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 5 – 8 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

A native of Winchester, she was the daughter of the late Odie Glenn David
and the late Florence Hawkins David Jernigan. Mrs. Luna graduated from
Franklin County High School and worked at Acme, SAS and Genesco for many
years. In addition, she was also a certified nursing assistant. She was a
member of Calvary Apostolic Church of Tullahoma. She enjoyed reading,
knitting, watching cooking shows on TV and doing crossword puzzles. She
also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy
Luna; one sister, Mary Frances Kennedy and one grandson, Jeffrey Wade
Chandler.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff Chandler and his wife, Jennifer of
Tullahoma and Anthony Finney and his wife, Jenny of Twainhart, CA; one
daughter, Lavonda Smith and her husband, Ricky of Manchester; two brothers,
John David of Manchester and Jim Jernigan and his wife, Laura of Estill
Springs; sisters, Edith Chandler of Manchester and Annie B. Keller of
Winchester; good friend, Ines Lewis of Lynchburg; eight grandchildren,
Corey Chandler and his wife, Cynthia and Autumn Brooke Chandler, both of
Tullahoma, Travis, Jacob and Hannah Grace Finney, all of Twainhart, CA and
Nicole, Michael and Sarah Smith, all of Manchester and three great
grandchildren, Keenan Wade and Aiden Isaiah Chandler and Bryson Smith.

12/30/16 — Joseph Dock Chadwell

Joseph Dock Chadwell of Tullahoma passed this life on Wednesday,
December 28th, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Harton at the age of 92. Mr.
Chadwell was born on January 12th, 1924 in Claiborne County to Ross and
Grace Cook Chadwell. He met the love of his life, Edith in Junior High
School. Mr. Chadwell was a forward observer paratrooper of the 506th
Regiment of the Army 101st Airborne Division that parachuted into
Normandy before D Day. When he returned to the states on leave, he and
Edith were married before he was sent with the 11th Airborne Division to
New Guinea, then to the Philippines and later to Japan. After the war, he
worked in Oak Ridge before moving to Tullahoma. While working at AEDC,
Joe was a busy man. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, clearing land and
restoring wrecked vehicles. After retiring in 1984, he continued these
activities as long as he was able to and always had plans for more things
to do. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Chadwell; brothers,
William R. Chadwell “Jr” and Whitt Chadwell; and his sister, Lucille
Profitt. He is survived by his niece, Mary Tyne and her husband Jeff
along with other nieces and nephews; and devoted caregivers, Kim and Ken
Chittum, Bill (Kathy) Hane who was like a son to him, and Nancy Leners.
Visitation for Mr. Chadwell will be held on Friday, December 30th, 2016
at Kilgore Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00pm with the funeral service to
follow at 2:00pm in the chapel with Rev. John Lewis officiating. Burial
with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Pete Hite, James Barber, Jeff Tynes, Donny Tawwater,
Derek Hane, and Roger Sanson. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the

1/2/17 — Ismael Rodriguez

Ismael Rodriguez, age 46 of Gainesville, FL passed away on Friday, December
23, 2016 at Shands Hospital at UF. Funeral Services are scheduled for
Monday, January 2, 2016 at 11 AM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with
burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM until
the service time.

A native of Los Angeles, CA, Ismael was the son of Luis Rodriguez and Jenny
Betances Matos. He loved being with his family and enjoyed sports. He was
an avid Oakland Raiders fan.

In addition to his parents, Luis Rodriguez and his wife, Maria of Los
Angeles, CA and Jenny Matos and her husband, Angel of Winchester, he is
survived by one son, Ismael Rodriguez Jr; one daughter, Shianne Rodriguez;
one brother, Luis Rodriguez Jr. of Winchester and two sisters, Elena Myers
of Tullahoma and Nancy Hebert of Oakland, CA.

12/29/16 — Dorothy Virginia Cunningham Young

Dorothy Virginia Cunningham Young was born in Carmine, Missouri December 9, 1922.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Hobart Young; Mother, Mary
Frances Fortner Cunningham and her father, Elmer Collier Cunningham; a
sister, Ruby Maxine Cunningham Mena; a sister, Wilmeda Cunningham Love
Liford; a sister’ LaVerne Cunningham Roberts, a brother’ GW Cunningham, a
niece, Carolynn Mena Myers, niece, Vicki Cunningham and nephew, Bruce
Cunningham.

Her life is celebrated by two daughters Donna Jozette Young Slipher
(Darrell) and Judy Gay Young Foley; sister, Bernadine Cunningham Dinsmore;
brothers, Norman Cunningham (Donna) and Elmer Don Cunningham (Connie);
grandchildren, Holly Dawn Slipher, Matthew Travis Slipher (Heather),
Bradley Martin Slipher (Belinda), Monica Ann Foley McElhaney (Lance), Heidi
Donette Foley Crabtree (Shannon); great grandchildren Claire McElhaney,
Ethan Slipher, Lilly Slipher, Hannah McElhaney, Jack Slipher, Ella

Crabtree, Liam Crabtree and Bradley Weston Slipher and sister-in-law,
Margaret Ann Young Shelton.

Virginia Young laid down her cross and picked up her crown on December 26,
2016. She loved God and used her talents as a young woman to sing Gods
praises. She was a member of The United Pentecostal Church and a resident
of Normandy, TN for 32 years.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Holland
Hill Cemetery at 11:30 AM. Visitation with the family will be from 9 AM
until 11 AM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her honor
to the Hospice of The Highland Rim Foundation, 110 East Lauderdale St,
Tullahoma, TN 37388.

12/30/16 — Sam Wehofer

Sam Wehofer was born on May 17, 1934 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the son
of the late Samuel Wehofer and Emma Minnick Wehofer. He departed this
life Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
surrounded by his loving family. Sam was a US Army Veteran and worked at
AEDC for 43 years where he was an engineer. He served on the Standard
Automotive Engineering (SAE) Committee and also on the NATO Committee.
Sam coached Babe Ruth League baseball in Manchester for over 20 years.
He and his wife Lois Wehofer moved to Kingston, Tennessee in 2006 to a
cabin on the river and in 2016 moved to Murfreesboro until his death.

A visitation and celebration of his life will be held Friday, December
30, 2016 from 5pm until 7pm with a short memorial service at 7pm at the
West Main Brick Oven Restaurant on the square in Manchester, Tennessee.
Refreshments will be served and the family invites you to come share your
memories of Sam.
