Motlow Earns Split With Snead St
In college basketball on Wednesday night Motlow played host to Snead St from Boaz, Alabama. In the women’s contest the Lady Bucks shot poorly from the field falling 67-49. Motlow was led in scoring by Chelsey Wiseman with 17 and Presley Owen added 15 and Lashundra Rice chipped in with 11. The Lady Bucks are at home Saturday against the Nashville All-Stars starting at 2pm.
In the men’s game the 28th nationally ranked Motlow Bucks fell behind by as much as 15 points in the 2nd half before making a comeback. Chris Hawkins who has not played much because of injuries came off the bench to score a team high 17 as Motlow beat the Parsons 67-65. With the win the Bucks moved to 10-2 on the season. Sean Gardner added 12 and J.C. Bonny off the bench had 10 points.
The Motlow men will play at home Saturday against Mid Continent College.
1/11/13 — Margie B. Evans
Mrs. Margie B. Evans, age 85, of Tullahoma, passed away Tuesday at Lynchburg Nursing Center.
She was a native of Franklin Co., TN and is the daughter of the late Clarence and Floy Baxter Evans.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the West End Baptist Church in Tullahoma and was retired from PCA in Manchester.
She is survived by two sisters, Doris Deaton and Virginia Moore both of Tullahoma.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted Friday at 1:00PM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

1/10/13 — Sharon Marie Rackler
Mrs. Sharon Marie Rackler, age 72, of Tullahoma, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013, at Harton Hospital in Tullahoma, TN.
A native of Coffee County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Oren and Vada Sue Conley Scott.
Mrs. Rackler was a retired nurse at Bedford County Hospital and a member of The First Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Ed Rackler, daughter Gina Rackler, brother Mack Scott, and sisters Kathleen Owen and Dorothy Harper.
She is survived by her daughter Sharleen (Mike) Dotson of Estill Springs, sisters Mary (Doug) Robertson of Tullahoma and Jean (Wayne)Alexander of SC., brothers Richard Scott of Manchester and Coy (Bobbie) Scott of Lakeland, FL., and two grandchildren Benjamin and Megan Dotson.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, from 4PM until 8PM at Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00AM Thursday, January 10, at The First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Elbert Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

More On Threat At Coffee County High School – UPDATE
Coffee County Schools Superintendent Dr. LaDonna McFall told WMSR News that Coffee County Central High School dismissed early (Wednesday, January 9, 2013) after an unspecified written threat was received at approximately 2PM. McFall added “We chose to be pro-active on the side of safety for the students and dismiss the car-riders immediately and buses collected the bus riders and took them to an off-site evacuation area.
Students were out of the building in around 15 minutes according to Coffee County Sheriff Steve Graves. Graves says his department investigated and no other threats were found and the school was deemed cleared.
1/14/13 — STEPHEN RONALD FLETCHER
STEPHEN RONALD FLETCHER, age 69, of Shelbyville, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Fletcher was employed as a Broadcast Engineer for many years before his retirement. Mr. Fletcher was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Shelbyville.
Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by a son, James Neil Neugebauer.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Fletcher of Shelbyville, sons; Mark L. (Jennifer) Fletcher of Incerlik Air Base, Turkey, Russell T. (Lena) Neugebauer, Jr. of Montgomery, Texas, and Michael Allen Neugebauer of Dallas, Texas, daughters; Meredith (Timothy) Himes and Juliet (Shane) Bridges all of Plano, Texas and Lola Ann Taylor of Magnolia, Texas, 5-grandchildren; Aaron and Alexis Neugebauer, Laura Ann Taylor, Benjamin and Matthew Bridges.
A Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at the First Assembly of God Shelbyville with Rev. Glenn Forsee officiating.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at the Dykes Cemetery in London, Ky with military honors bestowed.

1/7/13 — DAWN MARIE CARUSO
DAWN MARIE CARUSO, age 47, of Manchester, Tenn. formerly of Hammond, Indiana departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2013 after losing her battle with cancer.
Dawn was a loving and caring daughter and sister. She was born with disabilities but was still proud she accomplished graduation from high school. She loved music and was often found with her earphones in listening to her favorite songs.
Dawn is survived by her brothers; Ricky (Rhonda) Caruso of Valparaiso, Indiana, Kenneth (Anna) Caruso of Manchester, Tenn., sister, Vickey Richardson of Hobart, Indiana. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in Crown Point, Indiana.

Coffee County Takes The Sting Out Of The Yellow Jackets
Coffee County went mountain climbing Tuesday night with a non district basketball tilt at Grundy County. In the girl’s game, Coffee County got a layup off of the opening tip and never looked back in a 58 to 39 win over the Yellow Jackets. After leading by 10 at the half, Coffee County outscored Grundy County 16 to 7 in the 3rd quarter to win comfortably against the young Yellow Jackets. Alaina Lusk and Ginny Clayborne tied for high scoring honors with each having 16 points. Coffee County’s Ginny Clayborne was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game. With the win, Coffee County improved to 8 and 10 on the year.
In boys play, Coffee County got six 1st National Bank 3 pointers in the 1st quarter and held Grundy County to 16 points in the 1st half to take a 40 to 16 lead into the break. In the 2nd half, Coffee County cleared the bench as they completed the season sweep over Grundy County by a final score of 63 to 34. Coffee County was led in scoring by Lance Crismond who had 18 points and Lance was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game. With the win, Coffee County improved to 7 and 10 on the year.
Coffee County will be at home on Friday night as they play host to Cumberland County in a big District 6AAA doubleheader and you can hear all the action here on Thunder. The girls game will tip off at 6 followed immediately by the boys game. Our broadcast begins at 5:50 with the pregame show.

1/10/13 — Leroy Luna
Mr. Leroy Luna, 76, of Manchester, TN passed away at Horizon Health and Rehab Monday, January 7, 2013.
Mr. Luna is survived by his wife, Dorothy David Luna; daughters, Cindy Howard, Kim Luna, and step-daughter, Lavonda Smith; sons, James Robert Luna, Roger Lee Luna, and step-sons, Jeff Chandler and Anthony Finney; five grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and one great-grandson along with several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Luna was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Luna; sister, Clara Bell Morris; brother, Bobby Joe Luna; and parents Roy and Ola Luna.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at Concord Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 5 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home chapel.
