7/24/14 —– Betty Jo Lawson
Betty Jo Lawson, of Tullahoma, peacefully passed from this earth on July 21, following a recurrence of lymphoma.
Mrs. Lawson was a loving wife to G.W. Lawson for 56 years and 360 days, and a loving mother to Tim (Debbie) Lawson of Shelbyville, TN , Lisa (Robert) Kane of Tullahoma, TN, and Christina (Earl) Hillis of Winchester, TN. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Adam Kane of Knoxville, TN, Allison (Casey) McGehee of Fayetteville, TN, Amy (Nick) Cunningham of Tullahoma, TN, Andrew Lawson of Shelbyville, TN, Abby Lawson of Shelbyville, TN, and Lawson Hillis of Winchester, TN. Mrs. Lawson had one great-grandchild, Lucas McGehee of Fayetteville, TN. Mrs. Lawson is survived by sisters, Carolyn (Eddie) Scott of Tullahoma, TN, Annette (T.L.) Bolin of Manchester, TN, and Cora Webster of Seffner ,FL, and a brother, Eugene (Jean) West of Winchester, TN.
Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by Her mother, Maymie Holder of Tullahoma, TN, Martha Shelton of Manchester, TN, and Charles Holder of Manchester, TN.
Mrs. Lawson was a homemaker, who enjoyed caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. For several years, Mrs. Lawson was known as Mrs. Betty at Tullahoma City Schools’ Kool Kids program. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed keeping up with politics and current events. Mrs. Lawson will be remembered for her loving, compassionate nature, wit, strength, and grace.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Bethany Cemetery in Normandy, TN, on Thursday, July 24 at 3 PM, with Pastor David Wall officiating.
A reception for friends and family will be held immediately following the graveside service at Trinity Lutheran Church at the corner of Wilson Avenue and Cedar Lane in Tullahoma.

7/24/14 —— Erin Shea Hill Jackson
Erin Shea Hill Jackson of Decherd, passed this life on Monday, July 21st, 2014 at her residence at the age of 31.
Erin was born in Franklin County, Tennessee to Tommy and Jan Jordan Hill.
During her life she worked at Harton Regional Medical Center as a Sleep Technician and Secretary and was a member of Shady Grove Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed making different kinds of jewelry and loved animals and helping people. Even during her illness, Erin always put other people’s needs before her own and took care of her fellow patients.
She is preceded in death her paternal grandfather, Finus Hill; and maternal grandparents, John and Iona Jordan.
Erin is survived by her husband, Greg Jackson of Decherd; her parents, Tommy and Jan Hill of Tullahoma; one brother, Jon-Micah Hill of Murfreesboro; grandmother, Rosa Hill of Tullahoma; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Pat Donner of Beech Grove; two sisters-in-law, Dana Hereford and her husband Jim of Tullahoma, and Michelle Stovall of Belvidere; nieces and nephews, Julie Hereford, and Nolan and Riley Stovall; cousins, Julie Beth Tucker, Travis and Allison Hill, Dennis and Samuel Swann, and Andrea and Christopher Bell; and aunts and uncles, Rita and Randy Tucker, James and Donna Hill, Marvin Hill, Elaine Bell, Elsie Bell, Christine and Johnny Swann, and Sheila Westbrook.
Visitation for Erin will be held on Thursday, July 24th, 2014 from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home with the funeral service to immediately follow at 4:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Troy Finney and Bro. Robert Tipps officiating.
Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma.
7/24/14 —– Lena Evon Harmon
Lena Evon Harmon age 84 of Belvidere, Tennessee, passed away on July 20, 2014.
She had retired from the Queen Anne Candy Company and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Tullahoma, TN.
Mrs. Harmon was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Harmon; parents, Larkin Jasper Cawthron and Leaner Atnip Cawthron; sisters, Leola Lambert, Tempie Brown and Hanna Burks; and brothers, Milton Cawthron, Effie Cawthron, Herman Cawthron, John L. Cawthron, R.D. Cawthron and Gordon Cawthron.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra D. Hunter and her husband William of Martin, TN; son, David D. Harmon and his wife Laura of Belvidere, TN; six grandchildren, Karen Sliger, Jessica Goodman, Diana Watkins, Rebecca Holtzman, Sarah Forsythe and Zachary D. Harmon; ten great-grandchildren, Audrey, Amelia and Cole Sliger, Isiah Harmon, Rowen & Reagan Goodman, Annsley Watkins, Alivia Bell Holtzman, Sarah Joe Forsythe and Emaleah Harmon; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday afternoon, July 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Jack Lambert officiating.
Burial will follow at the Gnat Hill Cemetery.
7/24/14 —– Glenn Edward Baldwin, Sr.
Mr. Glenn Edward Baldwin, Sr., age 71 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed from this life on Monday, July 21, 2014, at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Catherine Dillon Baldwin, and one sister, Charlotte Cantrell.
He is survived his loving wife of fifty years, Patsy Baldwin, two sons, Buddy Baldwin and wife Susan of Manchester, Tennessee, Jeff Baldwin and wife Julie of Manchester, Tennessee, one sister, Claudette Hillis of Hillsboro, Tennessee, two brothers, Charles Baldwin and wife Mary of Dothan, Alabama, Joel Baldwin and wife Georgie of Manchester, Tennessee, six grandchildren, Ashley Gallagher and husband Derrick, Taylor Frame and husband Cody, Torrie Jernigan and husband Travis, Jarret Baldwin, Tatum Baldwin, Alex Baldwin, all of Manchester, Tennessee, and one great grandson Liam Gallagher of Manchester, Tennessee.
Mr. Baldwin was of the Baptist Faith. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Manchester, Tennessee. He loved trading,
collecting antiques and talking with people. Glenn was very social person and he enjoyed fellowship and talking with
folks. His family and his friends were his life.
Funeral Services for Mr. Glenn Baldwin will be conducted on July 24, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Adams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.

Property Tax Increase On The Agenda For County Commissioners
Coffee County commissioners will meet Tuesday night (July 22) with a property tax increase on the agenda. The Coffee County Budget and Finance Committee voted last week to recommend a 27-cent property tax increase for all county residents. According to Budgets and Accounts Director Marianna Edinger, the increase equates to roughly $68 per year for a home valued at $100,000. There will be a Public Hearing at 5:00 p.m. before the full commission meeting.
A resolution under unfinished business will be discussed and possibly voted on to place a referendum on the November ballot concerning a motor vehicle tax or wheel tax. If approved voters would have the option of voting yes or no in November on the tax.

Motlow Classes Begin Soon
Students planning on attending Motlow College this fall must submit an application for admission or readmission by Aug. 17, according to Greer Alsup, director of admissions and records at the College.
Students can apply online until midnight on the 17th. Online applications can be accessed from the “Apply Now” tab on the Motlow College website at www.mscc.edu. Also, staff members are available at all Motlow locations to help students with the application process. Students applying on the Moore County campus should do so at the Student Success Center inside the Crouch Center.
A student must complete an application for admission for all of Motlow’s programs of study. Some programs, such as nursing, have additional requirements that must be met before admission is granted into the program.
Students interested in earning high school and college credit for courses in the Dual Enrollment program and those enrolling in the Adult College Express program also are required to apply by Aug. 17.
Regular and MSCC online classes begin on Aug. 25 at all Motlow College campuses, while Friday-only classes begin Sept. 5 and Saturday-only classes begin Sept. 6.
