Man Found Dead Inside Warren County Jail Cell

Jail2Authorities in McMinnville are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Warren County Jail inmate on Christmas Day.
Authorities say 35 year old Trinity Bouldin had been booked for DUI and driving on a revoked license and was placed in a holding cell the night before. A few hours later, he was found unresponsive and was rushed to River Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was ordered as the investigation continues into the cause of Bouldin’s death.

1/8/15 —– Beverly Ann Holland

Beverly Ann Holland, age 50 of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Clarksville, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 12 PM until service time.

A native of Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Pete Cintron and the late Shirley Tucci Holland. Ms. Holland was a professional cook.

She enjoyed popping some popcorn and playing cards with her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to music and watching a good movie. She especially enjoyed cooking special treats for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frances Holland.

Ms. Holland is survived by one son, Andrew Holland and his wife, Katie of Monroe, MI; two daughters, Brianne Holland Corbin of Tullahoma and Kayla Vehue of Toledo, OH and two sisters, Deborah Perri-Danzi and her husband John of New Rochelle, NY and Michelle Lonigan of Tullahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4825 Trousdale Drive, Suite 238, Nashville, TN. 37220.

Leonard K. Turner, age 80, former Manchester, Tennessee resident, passed away on January 2, 2015 at the Falkville Nursing Center in Falkville, Alabama.

Mr. Turner was a retired Millwright with General Motors, Inc. and a member of the Red Hill Church of Christ in Manchester.

He was born in Phil Campbell, Alabama to his parents, the late Raymond Harris Turner and Winifred Beatrice McCollough Turner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Iva Allison Turner in 2013; sisters, Anna Turner Reed and Ernistine Turner Fagg; and brothers, Gravis Turner and Raymond H. Turner, Jr.

Mr. Turner is survived by his children, Larry K. (Debbie) Turner of Sylmar, CA, Raymond H. Turner of Pensacola, FL, Charlotte T. (Thomas) Cochran of Falkville, AL and Jack D. (Dianne) Turner of Yorekoille, IL; three sisters, Alice F. Wagner of TX, Julia (Joe) Lee of IN and Peggy (Ted) Defronzo of Elkhart, IN; three brothers, Horace (Rocky) Turner of NV, George W. (Patricia) Turner of IN and Carroll G. (Phyllis) Turner of IN; seven grandchildren, Adam Cochran, Alex Cochran, Carrie Venable, Troy Turner, Tristian Turner, Devin Turner and Nicolas Turner; four great-grandchildren, Adam Jay Cochran, Jr., Chad Logan Venable, Riley Turner and Ivanna Allison Cochran; and a host of other relatives and friends.

flower 4Virginia Malverine Nelson of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 81.

Mrs. Nelson was born in Coffee County, Tennessee to the late Willie E. and Mary E. Garrett Fry.

She was a caregiver for many people in the area for many years and was also very active in the Special Education Programs in the Tullahoma school system, as well as the Special Olympics.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nelson is preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Ann Bentley; one brother, Raymond Fry; and four sisters, Dolly Pratt, Louise Nelson, Ruth Frederick, and Jessie Louise “Pumpkin”.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Nelson of Tullahoma; five children, Bobby Nelson and his wife Cindy of Marietta, Georgia, Mark Nelson and his wife Debra of Rome, Georgia, Johnpaul Nelson and his wife Amanda of Tullahoma, Linda Anderson and her husband Michael of Portland, Oregon. and Samantha Rippy and her husband Mitch of Shelbyville; three sisters, Ida Mae Meadows of Tullahoma, Faye Brazier of Tullahoma, and Evelyn Smith of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Mark, Pam, Chris, Dylan, Jordyn, Donovan, Calan, Abbey, Audrey, Garrett, Ryan, Jerry, and Valerie; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Lisa, Nathaniel, Nevaeh, Luke, Mason, Olivia, Haley, Isiah, Draven, Robyn, and Carrington.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Missing Teens Seen In Coffee County

Manchester Police Department is seeking any information in regards to the location of Kayla Chu (16) and Brooke Brindle (17). Both girls are residents of Hendersonville, but were last seen at a residence on Pea Ridge Road in Coffee County last week. The girls are in a 2007, white, Mercedes Benz C320. GPS showed them to be in the Manchester area and GPS information also showed them to be in the Nashville area at one point around Cane Ridge Park and later near the Alabama line. Police departments in those areas have been notified. The girls have texted parents saying they “were sorry”, but that is the only contact from them in the last 24 hours. Both girls are considered runaways at this time.

1/8/15 — James Robert Kemp

James Robert Kemp, passed this life on Sunday, January 4th, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma at the age of 83.

Mr. Kemp was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Jasper Stanton Kemp Sr. and Ellen Blackburn Kemp.

He grew up in Smith County and graduated from Gordonsville High School. Mr. Kemp served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and went on to earn his Bachelors and then Masters Degree in Science and Education from Middle Tennessee State University. His first job was teaching Biology at Tullahoma High School and he later became the Principal of West Junior High School in Tullahoma. He began a 25 year career at MTSU in 1970, where he taught Biology and Anatomy and Physiology for nursing students. While at MTSU, Mr. Kemp taught 8,800 students. He also taught nursing students part-time at Motlow State Community College for many years. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his students whom he encountered all over the world.

Apart from being a teacher, Mr. Kemp was a life-long farmer who loved the land and animals entrusted to him. He liked nothing better than spending the afternoon in the woods on horseback with his friends and family. Mr. Kemp was also a long time supporter and board member of Horse Play, Inc., a non-profit corporation that provides therapeutic and recreational horseback riding opportunities for special needs children.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kemp is preceded in death by two children, Lt. Col. Gerald Ray Kemp, and Cathy Kemp Brockette; one step-son, John Kevin Driver; one sister, Elizabeth Kemp Wilson, and two brothers, Cecil Leamor Kemp, and William Henry Kemp.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Cook Kemp; five children, David (Dorene) Kemp of Bandera, Texas, Dr. Olan (Brenda) Kemp of Tullahoma, Ellen (Joe) Williams of Mt. Juliet, Christie (Bobby) Jennings of Murfreesboro, and Kara Jill Kemp of Murfreesboro; two step-daughters, Lori McCarrall and Leah Hulan; three brothers, Bernice (Peggy) Kemp of New Jersey, Roy (Betty) Kemp of Madison, and Jasper Stanton Kemp Jr. of Hendersonville; one sister, Betty (Bill) Singleton; sister-in-law, Annibel Kemp of Oregon; brother-in-law, Bro. Ray Wilson of Hendersonville; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Kemp, Lukas (Stacy) Kemp, Jay (Marissa) Brockette, Jeremy Kemp, Dorianne Kemp, Cari Jennings, Laura Jennings, and Cameron Jennings; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation for Mr. Kemp will be held on Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.vet

Bigamy In Coffee County? Woman Charged

court2A Kentucky woman was arrested last Thursday on a charge of bigamy.
43 year old Joan Adele Harmon of Elkton, Kentucky was indicted by the July term of the Coffee County Grand Jury on the charge.
The indictment alleges that she claimed to be married to an individual other than her husband.
After her arrest, she was booked into the Coffee County Jail but later posted a $10,000 bond and was released. She will appear in Coffee County Circuit Court to be arraigned on the charge.
The case against Harmon was investigated by Manchester Officer Bryan Eldridge.

An emergency call came out at 4:30pm Friday afternoon for a fire in the North Coffee area.
It was reported that a barn was on fire and several animals were inside. A couple of North Coffee volunteer firefighters and neighbors helped retrieve the livestock from the barn. All the animals were saved.
Firefighters did all they could do to stop the roaring fire.

The barn became fully engulfed as North Coffee firefighters worked hard for a period of time to contain the heavy smoke and flames. The barn was full of hay and was a total loss.

1/10/15 —- Howard Earl Gardner

Funeral services for Mr. Howard Earl Gardner, age 76 of Manchester will be conducted at 11:00am, Saturday, January 10 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny McGriff, Chris Anderson and Mike Anderson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Chestnut Grove (Jernigan Hill) Cemetery officiated by Bro. Mike Bynum.

Mr. Gardner passed this life Saturday, January 3 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Mr. Gardner was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania the son of the late Howard Greno Gardner and Helen Marie Pfister Gardner.

He was a professional painter and sandblaster and was a member of the Painters Local 456. Howard was also a member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
