flower 4Virginia Malverine Nelson of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 81.

Mrs. Nelson was born in Coffee County, Tennessee to the late Willie E. and Mary E. Garrett Fry.

She was a caregiver for many people in the area for many years and was also very active in the Special Education Programs in the Tullahoma school system, as well as the Special Olympics.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nelson is preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Ann Bentley; one brother, Raymond Fry; and four sisters, Dolly Pratt, Louise Nelson, Ruth Frederick, and Jessie Louise “Pumpkin”.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Nelson of Tullahoma; five children, Bobby Nelson and his wife Cindy of Marietta, Georgia, Mark Nelson and his wife Debra of Rome, Georgia, Johnpaul Nelson and his wife Amanda of Tullahoma, Linda Anderson and her husband Michael of Portland, Oregon. and Samantha Rippy and her husband Mitch of Shelbyville; three sisters, Ida Mae Meadows of Tullahoma, Faye Brazier of Tullahoma, and Evelyn Smith of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Mark, Pam, Chris, Dylan, Jordyn, Donovan, Calan, Abbey, Audrey, Garrett, Ryan, Jerry, and Valerie; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Lisa, Nathaniel, Nevaeh, Luke, Mason, Olivia, Haley, Isiah, Draven, Robyn, and Carrington.

A private service will be held at a later date.
