Down to their final out in the final inning, the Lady Raider softball team scored 5 runs to defeat Warren County 11 to 9 on Thursday night at CCMS.  Haley Richardson hit the 2nd pitch of her at-bat over the centerfield fence for a walk-off home run to score Ashley Evans and Gracie Pippenger and complete the 2nd comeback of the night for Coffee County.  Tied at 6 going into the last inning, Warren County plated 3 runs, including a home run of their own, to make the score 9 to 6 and erase the first Coffee County rally.  The Lady Raiders loaded the bases with 2 outs in the 5th before Pippenger hit a 2 RBI single and set up Richardson’s heroics.  Richardson, who came into the game to pitch in the 2nd inning got the win for the Lady Raiders and was 2 for 4 at the plate with a double to go with her home run.  She finished with 5 RBI.  Pippenger was 2 for 2 with 2 walks and 5 RBI and scored the tying run in the bottom of the 4th on a wild pitch.  Jayden Scheller was 2 for 3 on the night for Coffee County as well.  Coffee County, which trailed 6 to 0 after 2 innings, banged out 7 hits on the night and took advantage of 6 walks given up by Warren County’s pitchers.  With the win, the Lady Raiders avenged a 5 to 0 loss in the opening game of the season to Warren County.  The Lady Raiders improved to 4 and 1 on the season and 4 and 1 in conference play.  The Lady Raiders are off for Spring Break and will not play again until April 6th when they play host to South Franklin.

According to Coffee County Emergency Management Agency Director Allen Lendley, around noon Monday a semi-truck was backing into U.S. Display on South Washington in Tullahoma. The truck got off in the grass into the soft ground. The truck’s fuel tank struck a curb and punched about a three inch hole in the fuel tank, causing about 50 gallons of fuel to spill.
Tullahoma Fire Department quickly responded to the call and started the process of containing the spillage. Fire Chief Richard Shasteen said they used sand to help contain the spill to the area.
A hazardous materials company, Evergreen AES, from Murfreesboro was called to the plant to clean up the spill.
There were no injuries reported from the accident.

Joel Tuck arrived home to find his back door standing open, the glass broken out of it, and his daughter’s ashes gone.
