Extra inning games are tough on the young pitching staffs in middle school baseball, but a 10 inning, 7 to 6 loss by the Westwood Rockets baseball team to Fayetteville on Tuesday night only compounds the agony. A 3 run rally in the top of the 7th inning gave the Rockets team a 1 run lead entering the bottom of the 7th, but Tigers battled back to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th and send the game into extra innings. Westwood notched a run in the 9th inning, only to see Fayetteville tie it again in the bottom of the 9th. Austin Burch had 2 hits and a walk to lead the Rockets offensively. Brady Nugent drew 3 walks and also scored twice for Westwood. The loss is the 3rd one run loss for Westwood in their last 4 games as the Rockets continue to show grit as they improve daily. The Rockets will return home on Thursday when they welcome Community to Fred Deadman Park. First pitch is set for 5 PM.
