A late Blackman goal proved costly for the Coffee County Central High School soccer team on Tuesday night as they fell by a final score of 2 to 1 to Blackman in a non-district friendly. The Blackman goal, in the 74th minute was not only the game winner, but also saw an injury to Raider defender Miguel Mendoza. The game was stopped for several minutes as trainers took a look at a lower body injury on Mendoza. The status of the junior will be listed as day to day following a complete medical evaluation. Blackman opened the scoring with a goal in the 25th minute. Coffee County got on the scoreboard in the second half as Paco Barrera bounced on the rebound of a Breyer Taylor shot to level the score at one. That remained the score until a collision in the box gave the Blaze the winning goal. The Raiders play host to Ooltewah on Friday at the Raider soccer field at the Raider Academy. That match is set to kickoff at 6 PM.
