The Westwood Rockets 5 to 4 loss in middle school baseball on Thursday night to Cornersville could best be described as a game of missed opportunities. The Rockets had bases loaded, with the tying run at 3rd base when a strikeout ended the Westwood rally in the 7th inning. Additionally, the Rockets left runners in scoring position in 5 of the 7 innings and strong pitching performances from Trenton Thompson, Wyatt Nugent and Winston Alford were wasted by 4 costly errors by the Westwood defense. Skylar Bratcher led the Rockets in hitting as he had a pair of doubles. Jacob Garms had a hit and scored twice. The Rockets are back at home on Monday when they play host to Fayetteville. That game is set to get underway at 5 PM at Fred Deadman Park.
