On Saturday afternoon the Coffee County baseball played host to Beech High School from Sumner County.
Senior Dylan Sandavol was given the start on the mound and was outstanding, pitching a complete game giving up only 2 hits and just one unearned run. The bad news for the Raiders, the Buccaneers only needed the one run for the win. In the 3rd inning Beech was attempting to steal 3rd and Catcher Peyton Booth’s throw went a little high to Noah Anderson at 3rd allowing Beech to score the only run of the game.
The Raider offense was stymied by Beech’s Michael Hayes who allowed only 3 hits.
Despite the loss Sandavol earned the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game.
Coffee County will play district foe Franklin County in Winchester on Tuesday night before hosting the Rebels on Wednesday for Senior Night.
