Lawrence County piled up 464 yards rushing on Friday night as the defeated Coffee County 41-21 in District 8-AAA high school football in Lawrenceburg.
The Raiders tied the game at 7 in the 1st quarter on an Alontae Taylor to Cody Howes TD pass. After that score the Wildcats went onto put up 28 points in a row before Coffee County could score again. Taylor would finally break the drought for the Raiders as he ran in from 6 yards out to make it 35-14. Lawrence County did not stop as they scored again to make 41-14.  With 5:51 left in the game Cody Howes who had a 90 yard kickoff return during the game took the ball into the end-zone for his second touchdown on the night from 11 yards out. Howes was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game.
This week is Homecoming for the (1-4) Raiders as the host Stone Memorial (3-2) Friday night at 7pm. A community pep rally will be held Thursday night at 6pm on the square in Manchester beginning at 6pm, everyone is invited.
