The cross country teams of Coffee County CHS and Coffee County Middle School closed out the regular season on Tuesday in Sewanee. In spite of missing several runners due to the school system being on fall break, the Raiders and Lady Raiders still got some good performances from the runners that remained.
For the Red Raiders, Andrew Godwin led the way as he finished in 2nd place. Larson Meltzer captured a 9th place finish, Neil Slone was 21st, Eric Randolph was 34th and Joe Melton was on his heels in 35th.

For the Lady Raiders, co-captains Sarah Pearson and Byanka Woods were the only 2 runners competing for Coffee County. Pearson won the girls race with a time of 24:32 more than 3 and a half minutes ahead of the 2nd place runner. Woods finished in 5th place.
For the Coffee County Middle School, Ethan Welch captured a 2nd place finish while Jacob Rutledge was 3rd for the Red Raiders. Jasie Willis was the lone competitor for the Lady Raiders as she finished in 4th place. This was the final race for the middle school cross country teams this season.
The high school’s next race is the Mid State Cross Country Association Championship on October. 15th. That race will be held at Buckner Park in Dickson.
