Coffee County baseball jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st inning but Lincoln County chipped away and finally put away the Raiders 6-5 on Monday night in the district tournament. Coffee County got its 4 runs in the 1st on a Peyton Meeker RBI, Hunter Smithson 2 RBI double and a JP Duncan RBI.
The Raiders struggled at the plate in 3rd-6th innings as they went hitless.
Tyler Cavender hit a solo bomb in the 7th but it was not enough as the Falcons will move on in the tournament.
Meeker suffered the tough luck loss on the mound.
Tyler Cavender was the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game.
The loss ended the season for the Raiders at 15-17 for the year.
Coffee County will now begin to look for a new head coach as Brent Whitlock resigned recently to spend more time with his family.
