Football playoff hopes for the Coffee County Red Raiders were ended on Friday night in McMinnville. Warren County knocked the Raiders 43-32 in District 6-AAA play.
After a scoreless 1st half, the Pioneers got things rolling, gaining a 22-6 lead at halftime. Coffee County’s lone touchdown came on 74 yard strike from QB Peyton Meeker to TE Kyle Douglas.
Deangelo Rozier who finished with 18 carries for 85 yards had TD runs of 3 and 10 yards in the 2nd half.
Meeker was named the Gateway Tire and Service Player of the Game. The Raider QB passed for 353 yards and two touchdowns and ran a 2-point conversion. Meeker hit Jesse Brown with a 46 yard TD pass in the 4th quarter.
Coffee County blocked a Warren County punt late in the game for its final score. Hunter Smithson ran in the block for the TD.
Coffee County outgained the Pioneers 458-274 yards.
The 0-6 Raiders play the 1-6 Lincoln County Falcons in Fayetteville on Friday.
